Awesome! Not overpriced and they never mess up a special order. Mexican food made by Mexicans… and it’s oh so good

Nothing is FRESH in this place! I have never been more disappointed. We ordered two burritos, took four bites of each one before they went right into the trash. I love Mexican food and I love homemade Mexican food more than anything. This is never of those! I prefer my frozen burrito from the supermarket over these.

Right down the street from our apartment and a go to place! Their food is fantastic and authentic. I have gone to other small Mexican places in JP and Roslindale and nothing compares! The amount of food you get for the price is unbeatable. Took some out of town friends, one actually Mexican, and they LOVED it!

As the sign reads, «Mexican Food Made By Real Mexicans,» this is a legit taco joint. It’s run by a father and his two sons who make the same stuff they make at home(and despite what I’ve read they are quite nice). Just keep the order simple — tacos and burritos for the most part. The carnitas is so good it tastes like someone’s grandmother made it. Shrimp tacos are easily the best around this part of Boston. They also have Jarritos sodas and MexiCoke for sale. A classic neighborhood place. I like to eat-in except when it’s really hot out — there’s no AC.

First impressions goes a long way with me & I have to say this is the cutest little Mexican restaurant, it’s so festive, I love it ! Everything we had was absolutely delicious, I definitely recommend the carne asada tacos, my fave ! Not only was the food awesome but the people that work there are great as well. I highly recommend you try this place, it will be your new«go to» spot for Mexican food

I love this place! It’s conveniently on my drive home from work and when ever I don’t feel like cooking, I stop here. It’s always the same guys working, and they are so kind! The burritos never disappoint and their guacamole is made fresh! It’s a charming spot and they really care about their customers. They’re quick and efficient and always smile.

This is my favorite Mex restaurant. I only have wonderful things to say about the food, as well as the people who work there.

I was impressed. While I can’t speak to the authenticity(though, I’m sure it is), the food was quite good and reasonably priced. Wide variety of bottled Mexican sodas. Very friendly and quick service. Clean restaurant. Pull-in parking right out front. They also have an old Papa Gino’s trash receptacle, cool throwback item that actually fits well with the restaurant’s décor. Yesterday was my first time going, and I will most certainly be returning in the near future.

Best chicken burrito in the Boston area. Filling, tastes great, and the price is right. This is my go-to place for Mexican food.

I was so excited to come to this place. I love the idea of supporting small, local and authentic businesses. However, I was very underwhelmed with the most basic enchilada I’ve ever had. Very sad, I was hoping to love this place.

I have driven by a few times… I decided to give it a try today. It is a nice little piece of Mexico in Boston. The staff was really nice and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The food was amazingly good!!! Very authentic. I will definitely be going back for sure. My kids loved it. A good place to sit with kids or just for lunch.

Great authentic food and a great family-run restaurant. Its always the same three amigos working the kitchen and register every time I go in there(father and his two sons). I won’t delve into detail, but I’ll tell a story that should sum it all up. One time I went in to pick up my take-out order, but wanted to add a side of guacamole and chips. They told me it’d take a few extra minutes because they make it fresh every time. I said I’d gladly wait for that. So I stood there and watched the youngest hermano chop, squish, and smash up the freshest guac in West Roxbury. So good. I love all these reviews saying this food is «boring, not enough salt!!» and«if you want tasty mexican, go to Chipotle». It doesn’t get much sadder than that. And we wonder why America has a heart disease epidemic…

Solid food and fast, friendly service. We live nearby so often pick-up take out on our way home. It won’t blow your hair back, but it’s good and authentic and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ever had(burritos, carne asada tacos, chiles rellenos). I also love supporting a small local business like this.

I love Mexican Food and I’ve been stopping here regularly for about 8 years or so. Service is always consistent and fast. It’s not a very spacious restaurant but it’s well-decorated and has a nice feel about the place. The people behind the register are quiet and don’t seem to give off the most inviting vibe, but as a regular patron, I can tell you that nobody is unfriendly… they are simply just quiet folks. And they will always get your order right. You order at the front register, but then take your seat and they will deliver your meal to you. Their menu is standard Mexican with a lot of choices. I religiously order the Queso Asado for a starter and a chicken burrito with no beans. As I mentioned, after 8 years of coming here, I’ve always received consistent service and I’ve never been disappointed.

I do not understand the high ratings. This place is literally down the street from my house and when I first saw it I got super excited. There’s a Mexican place in walking distance from my house? Yippee! Then I tried the food. It’s a solid, mehhh. At best, the food is worth 2 stars– it’s relatively fresh, and, that’s about it. I’m bumping up to 2.5 since the restaurant itself is pretty cute and the place is local. But this is food made by «real Mexicans»? I prefer eating at Chili’s over this.

I love this place. The mamas beef tacos are always a good choice and the burritos are full of good stuff. Prices are on the High side but the food doesn’t disappoint. Worth a try if you’re a taco or burrito fan.

Omg my wife and kids where so excited to try this place. What a nightmare! When we walked in the man at the register had a huge frown and looked at us like I hope they don’t order food. So we ordered two tamale plates they where out of the pork. We ordered one beef and one chicken. I am a chef and been one for 20 years I can just say stay away from this place.

First off: no greeting when we walked in by the two guys working there. Second: there was no aroma of food or any presentation of it. So you order without even seeing what anything looks like. Most authentic restaurants like this have the food out in the hot containers where you can see the different items such as the rice, beans, cheeses, and so fort. Even when we ordered all the food is being taken from containers that are kind of hidden. It wasn’t from the hot station that’s directly next to the register. Third: the food was ok, not good, but not disgusting. I ordered the chicken quesadillas. There was no flare to it, it’s not authentic at all. The chicken was thickly cut into PERFECT cubes, and not cooked on the grill. Very flavorless. My husband got one of the chicken plates and the rice was literally white rice cook with a little softito. So the rice took the color of that tomato sauce, light light red/orange, but it was a little undercook and had very LITTLE flavor. And the beans were definitely from the can. There we very firm. Anyone should be able to tell the difference from beans cooked in a pot on the stove vs beans poured out of a can . So we will not be back, I’ve had Los Amigos down the street and let me tell you, THATSAUTHENTIC! Everything is sooo well flavored and the people who work there are very pleasant. So do yourself the favor and skip Yucatan tacos!

Enjoyed my delicious fish tacos, loaded up with salsas immensely. The fish was fried fresh and quickly as well. NICE. Great vibe in this place. An oasis of sorts on this funny section of center street. Will definitely come back.

Excellent Mexican food with good portion size equals a great value. This has become my «goto» place for Mexican food. And… some great soft drinks from Mexico as well.
