Local Scoop Ice Creamery

Craptacular. Unlike sex and pizza, ice cream can be bad. Awful, in fact. We saw this place when going shopping at Roche Bros. and decided to stop by. The place appeared closed when we went up to it, but one of the Papa John’s employees next door said someone would be over in a minute. Another Papa John’s employee came over and opened the little window, how strange. There is no inside, it’s take out ice cream only, and there is only one bench outside. No garbage can. My wife got soft serve, I got a hot fudge sundae with peanut butter cup ice cream. The whipped cream came from a can, the hot fudge was just chocolate sauce, and the ice cream may have had freezer burn, I’m not sure. Maybe it just tasted that way. Do NOT go here. There’s another place nearby, it serves Brigham’s, which may not be interesting, but at least it tastes decent. Better yet, drive the 10 minutes over to Jamaica Plain and go to JP Licks.
