Went with my son a week ago and was pleasantly surprised. Latte was very good, along with the freshly baked cookie. Seating area was neat with great atmosphere. I highly recommend

My friend and I decided to try this place out. At first you don’t even know where the front door is. The Bold Realty office is located upstairs. The front door is on Penn Avenue, up the stairs. From the front, you might think this is just a coffee shop. But they do have a full menu to order from. We both had the chicken salad… hers in an actual salad and mine on a pretzel roll with a side of potato salad. It was such a lovely day we decided to sit outside. It didn’t take long for our waitress to start bringing our meal out… piece meal.(I’m getting the impression that she may be a new employee?). It wasn’t a big deal… just weird. And then the waitress never came back. An hour and a half? We brought our own dishes back into the place while making a pit stop. The chicken salad was good overall, but why do places use so much mayo? The big hit? The potato salad. I would go back just for that. Really. The whole experience was okay, but I think we’ll keep trying other places in the mean time.

I very much enjoyed myself when I was there. The coffee is made from freshly ground bean(actually ground it right in front of me) and tastes great even without any sugar. There is also a very quaint sitting area that is very comfortable. Easy to read and relax.

TLDR: Waited forty minutes for our order and it came out missing almost half of it. I have been to Café Bold a hand full of times however I will not be returning after my experience there today. The food is not bad for the most part although I did have a cupcake there once that was terrible and have not ordered any baked goods since then. I usually order a sandwich or salad for lunch and they are usually good. The biggest complaint is how painfully slow they are. I tried to mitigate this today by calling an order in but even the best laid plans… I digress. I was told the order, 2 sandwiches and two salads, would take 15 – 20 minutes. I showed up 20 minutes later to pick the food up and had to wait an additional 20 minutes. How does it possibly take 40 minutes to make 2 sandwiches and 2 salads? They were not even busy. I did not see a single other food order come out in the 20 minutes I was there waiting. This seems to be a regular thing there so unfortunately I will not be returning. Almost forgot to mention, after waiting forty minutes and getting back to the office to eat we discovered two of our orders were missing the sides that we ordered with them. AND the two side soups they remembered to include were maybe a quarter of the container they came in.

I used to love this place, but I stopped in today for the first time since it reopened and was disappointed. They didn’t honor my coffee punches, the latte was OK but not great, and they got rid of Laura and the rest of the old staff. No thanks.

Café Bold came recommended to me by a local friend. I needed a spot to burn time and grab some coffee. I wanted to give a pastry a try to really get the essence of the place. There was plenty of seating and many different environments to sit in. It was not overly loud and uncomfortable. The coffee was hot and tasty! Just had black coffee but pretty good. I read on Unilocal that they had Free Wifi, I could not log on to their WIFI and when I went looking for the employee to inquire they were no where to be found. Whats up with that? While the coffee was great, I was a bit disappointed in the banana chocolate chip muffin. It was dry and hard. I had to dip it in my coffee to actually eat the thing. Great place to meet someone for a cup of coffee but I would pass on the pastries.

Great atmosphere and service. I had the Bold chicken on a wrap and it was really good. Loved the tortilla chip with spinach dip too. I had to try a cupcake and coffee for dessert and wow, so yummy! Can’t wait to come back!

I love this new café in West Reading! I live down the street and pop in for a hot drink and a place to write. The coffee and tea drinks are great, as are the complimentary cupcakes you get with a fancy coffee drink. The atmosphere of the café is cute and relaxing — there is a room with comfy chairs and some tables and another space with more tables and chairs. Some people were eating meals while others enjoyed just a cuppa. All the staff I’ve met so far have been friendly and helpful.
