I wish I had read the reviews before doing business with SO. I wanted to have one pair of glasses made from an outside prescription and knew their advertised bargain pricing would not work since I wanted very upgraded lenses and had a prescription for progressives. I also chose an expensive frame — a Vera Wang at $ 249.00. I was advised I had to buy two pairs since the price for one pair was the same as the price for two and the employee would not deviate from this so I chose another frame and then the fun began, There is no set pricing here and haggling and bargaining are the norm, similar to buying a car. The first price I was quoted was exorbitant and I got up to leave when the clerk told me he could do better. This happened four times with the price getting repeatedly lower. I told the clerk what I paid at Costco for the same script comparable lenses and he called Costco, whose number appeared to be on speed dial on his cell phone, to verify what I told him. He then lowered the price again. I asked why all the price changes and he told me each employee was authorized to negotiate pricing… interesting. My concern is that a less savvy or confident customer, perhaps a senior citizen, would just have acquiesced if the quoted price was in their budget. The gentleman I worked with was not rude yet not professional either, just lackadaisical and not interested in the process. I usually have four to five pairs of prescription glasses since I like diversity. I asked for and was told I will receive scratch resistant, anti-reflective, high index lenses, the best available. I should have left but agreed to a price yet have little confidence that the measurements taken were accurate. Costco did not have any other frames I wanted so I went to SO on a whim. Many of Stanton’s frames appear to be acetate wraps. I researched the Vera Wang frames I purchased and found their $ 249.00 tagged price to be way out of line — exorbitantly high. Costco quotes one low price for top quality lenses and the experience of doing business with them is the antithesis of doing business at SO. One of the two pairs of glasses I got from Costco did not work because my eyelashes brushed the lenses. The store immediately replaced the glasses and were helpful and professional at every turn. When picked up the two pairs of glasses ordered from Stanton I was told, at upon arrival at 9:15am, to sign in and sit in a waiting area. When my name was called, the young woman retrieved my glasses and asked in I wanted hard or soft cases. She did not offer to let me try the glasses on or check to see if they fit properly. The employee handed me the two pairs of glasses, while I was still sitting in the waiting area, and did not offer me a mirror or check to see if the fit was correct or if adjustments were needed. The store was empty so the clerk had time to properly deliver my order. I decided to take the glasses home and try them, in all fairness, to see if the script worked and if the lenses were what I ordered. I will take them to a proper optical business to determine what kind of lenses I was given. As of now, these seem different from the two pairs with the same prescription I had made at Costco, but I am going to give them a fair trial. Employees are poorly trained and not customer service oriented. There are valid reasons why there are so many complaints and so much dissatisfaction with this business. Read the reviews for all the locations and check them out with the BBB. Also, understand that the price they quote you is almost always negotiable. or it was in my case. Their business practices are, in my opinion, questionable, Go elsewhere and deal with an ethical business that quotes one price to all. Check the reviews for all of the Stanton locations and you will see the depth of customer dissatisfaction. I believe there were 429 complaints on locals SO stores with the BBB.

if there was anyway to give a Minus Star I would give three. My only recommendation is DON’T go to this place!!! the second week of February I brought in two frames to get lens fitted and was told 10 days. After breaking both of my frames, one they couldn’t fix I’m still waiting(04÷04÷16) I did successfully pick up one pair of glasses two weeks ago(repair very visible) and gave them a replacement set of frames to be told«10 days at the most» LOL!!! signed, STILLWAITING!

Professional, courteous, reasonably priced and make the process easy! I got an exam for glasses and contacts, two sets of prescription eyeglasses in frames and six months worth of contacts for under $ 400 with no insurance. Pretty good by my standards. :-)

It’s simply a scam. You go into your appointment and pay $ 45 for what they said would be the only price for lenses. Get your prescriptions, and then lenses are suddenly around $ 250. You try to leave and then they try to sales pitch your price down. A dishonest establishment. Left with the loss of $ 45 but at least I saved my eyes and pockets.

Do not be fooled by their 2 for $ 69, or the buy 1 get 1 ads. When you first arrive they immediately make you pay $ 45 before your eye exam, that is only refunded upon purchase of glasses. The 2 for $ 69 section has less than 10 pair of frames, which are garbage, and I assume no one ever purchases. I decided to go with the buy 1 get 1, and purchased a pair of frames for $ 119. In the end my purchase totaled $ 329.

Stanton Optical Greenacres has a policy(as per manager) that they don’t give refunds, even if they can’t give you satisfaction. Timeline of events: October 10th– eye exam and purchase of upgraded progressive lens glasses. 2 pair October 11th-Picked up one pair October 13th went to Stanton Optical because the areas of vision felt wrong, was told to go home for a week and«get used to them» but there are areas that are blurry that should not be. October 13 evening-Spoke with manager, asked for refund(sorry we don’t do refunds, we guarantee satisfaction instead) who agreed to look at the glasses, made appointment for the upcoming saturday October 17 — Manager agrees that the point of vision is mixed up/backwards between left and right eyes and orders a corrected pair from the vision tech, tells us to wait for the corrected pair to come in and then if those are correct, will take back the existing pair and correct them as well. October 18 get a phone call that glasses are ready, but not sure if it’s the correct rx, so we wait for Ron to come back he is off until October 20(sun and mon off) October 21– two pairs have now come in. on one pair the left and right prescriptions are backwards and on the other the left and right vision point is backwards. We ask to go to regular(LOWERCOST) lenses because a total of three pairs has been made incorrectly. They agree to provide instead two pairs of distance glasses and an additional pair of reading October 22– I call the store and corporate to request a refund on the $ 149 per lens(times four lenses for two pairs of glasses), which was the progressive lens upgrade charge. Corporate tells me: WEMADETHOSEGLASSESFORYOUWEARENOTGOINGTOREFUNDYOURMONEY. But they made them backwards a total of three times, so we should pay for you to make them WRONG? That is their policy. WE have now escalated this to be waiting for a call from the«District Manager» I expect: either a refund on the difference for having to go with a lesser functional lens, or a full refund so I can walk away from this incompetent store entirely. or I will take them to small claims court. the state of Florida law requires that you either give refunds or post that you don’t. Stanton saved my life… Literally! A few months ago I found myself with an eye infection– which meant I was unable to wear contacts– and did not have a pair of glasses. Roberto Garzon, the manager at this location was able to expedite a pair of glasses that have a prescription of –10 and –10.5 in two days time. I had my vision back and a pair of trendy frames with high index lenses thank to Stanton and Roberto. Needless to say you should check this Stanton out if your are in the market for new glasses!

I was very impressed with the staff and the variety of frames that were available. Oshine and Frank both were professional and a pleasure to work with. Customer service was outstanding. My glasses were done quickly and I would recommend this location.

Lisa i received your email with a direct contact number for you. I called you twice last week and left you a voice mail with my phone number and the best times to reach me. I didnt hear back from you so i replied to your email 2 days ago and i still have not heard from anyone. I went to my follow up this past sunday and you still did Not have the correct percription strength(–1.75& –2.75& –3.00) and they would be special ordered and i should have them wednesday. I have called wed and thurs to check. i just got a call today(friday) to say they came in and to schedule an appoitment to come in and get them. I told her i had my appt last sunday and i will be by tonight after 6 to pick them up. So i will have one day to see what ones work. If not the dr said he would try a different brand. So i still have no resolution because stanton has not had the correct size for the last 2 weeks. A refund at this point would be great. I am ready to try a different location or even another eye company. Any help would be greatly appriciated..

After speaking to some friends I found out that it is the glare protection on the glasses that keeps them smudgy. This was my first time getting the glare protection so it was not the quality of the glasses please disregard that comment

BAITANDSWITCH.,. My appointment was at 11:30am but I did not receive service until 1:00. However they took my $ 45 for eye exam right away. Ok I hung in there because I wanted their special 2 pair of glasses and free eye exam for $ 69. … What a SCAM after finally being examined they told me my glasses would be $ 138 because my prescription didn’t qualify for the $ 69 offer. Ok give me my money back for the exam cause I came in for the special. Sorry no refunds. Show me in writing that my prescription has to qualify to get special, Oh it doesn’t say that… Most people just know they have to spend more says the manager total SCAM… Save yourself the aggravation ! I left no glasses $ 45 gone… They get you to pay for exam then have you pay for more expensive glasses. Oh he said I could pay the remaining $ 24 and get the cheap 2 pair of frame but I don’t get any lenses scam scam scam !

My mother had a really bad experience there. The young black lady that helped her seemed to be in a rush and had an attitude. My mother felt that because she wanted the two for $ 99 deal, that she was treated differently. Not very happy.

I was very pleased with the service here. Everyone I dealt with, including the eye doctor, were extremely nice and helpful. I rate this place 4 stars for very good customer service. That being said, it’s true that the BOGO deal applies only to the frames. You will be paying for all of the lenses and possibly the optional insurance or glare protection. All told, I ended up paying over $ 300 for two pairs of glasses; however, I do have an eye condition, convergence insufficiency so my needs possibly require something a bit more specialized and expensive compared to the average person needing glasses. For example, I had prism inserted into each lens, which cost an additional $ 15 per lens.

we had an appointment for 1145am to see eye doc. signed in at 1125am. only 2 people in front of us. its 1254 and JUST got called back for exam. won’t be coming back. oh and the two pairs for 69 is not complete its frames only. you still pay for lenses on top so unlike vision works 2 for 99 that actually means 2 for 99, this could be upwards of 100 plus. do yourself a favor get an exam somewhere else, and buy glasses at . I hate when people waste my time its so inconsiderate.

You can choose from a great selection of glasses. The Doctor gave options to me in a manner that I could easily understand. The sales team is very helpful and not pushy. I could not be more pleased with the staff, service, and product… I will go back to Stanton again. Parking is tricky.
