Debbie is totally the Doggie Nanny if one ever exists. She is from the UK and has that lovely British accent to boot. We adopted a rescue puppy 6 weeks ago and life has been a living nightmare since. This poor puppy was separated from the mother and litter mates at 4 – 5 weeks old. Way too young. The people who took him locked him in a crate 24 hours a day except to teach him to pee. They then decided he was too much trouble and my big hearted daughter brought him home for a «temporary visit». That was 6 weeks ago and the going has been rough. He has not been socialized, is a beagle-lab mix full of pent up energy, who bites and howls constantly. To make matters worse, he is a highly intelligent puppy who has been training us rather than vice versa. I actually called the local humane society to discuss surrendering him. They suggested that I speak with Debbie Birmingham of Paw Print before making the decision. She used to be the behavior specialist there. I did and the following day Debbie came for her first visit – which lasted for three hours!-to do a full assessment. She was amazing with the puppy and by the time she had finished, we all were exhausted, including the puppy, but not Debbie. She worked with him over and over and over. By the time she left, his behavior was so improved. He sat, laid down, stopped his biting, and followed her commands. She is returning next week for more training and will bring her Golden Retriever to help socialize our orphan puppy further. Obviously, is it us who need to be trained on how to handle this puppy. All thanks to Debbie. Her fees are soooooooo reasonable and happily makes house call. Best dog trainer ever.
