We got 4 Herman Miller Eames chairs delivered yesterday. Happy. Ed gave us a great deal. Thanks Ed!

I have passed by this store many times, but never went in. I finally did today. I saw an amazing stainless steel desk. Sure, it was incredibly expensive and it will be a while before I could get something like that but the sales rep was still completely professional, helpful and considerate. He also informed me that they have sporadic sales. If you want really nice, modern eclectic furniture, this is the place to go.

I don’t know how anyone can pass these places and NOT go in, especially when the place makes REAL replicas rather than the poorly built, substandard material pieces you find in so many areas. That being said, I do have to leave any form of payment in the car when coming here or I will buy something. The place is expensive. I figure if I like a piece, walk to the car for my wallet, walk back, and still need the piece in my mind then I will purchase it. I haven’t purchased many items here.

Right. Design Within Reach is a high end designer furniture store — and by ‘high end’ I mean the average price of a lounge chair is around $ 2,500−3,000. Now, this is probably out of reach for most of those who happen to actually hang out in the neighborhood(the store is located on the ‘party block’ of Clematis Street, next door to Rocco’s Tacos), though its proximity to the wealth of Palm Beach appears to guarantee enough sales to justify its presence. Nevertheless, you know the deal — it stocks modern, often minimalist, beautiful furniture — stuff that I would 100% deck out my apartment in was it not for the fact that I’d rather really not pay over $ 3,000 for a chair that I am pretty sure I can find online for little over $ 600. Now, many of the pieces are exclusive to DWR(although there is the odd item that can be found online for a lot less — see Nelson’s Coconut Chair), but even then, would you ever sit on a pillow that you paid $ 400 for? I do not mind paying for quality but I draw the line between a fair, albeit high price and perversion. In many aspects, DWR, I’m afraid, falls in the latter category. In short — beautiful, but unjustifiably overpriced.
