East Garden Chinese Cuisine

I tried two dishes, scallion pancakes and spring rolls. Hardly a challenge for a take-​out Chinese place. The rolls were very greasy, they had clearly been cooked at least once before they were reintroduced to the oil for me. The pancakes were dry and slightly burnt: they too had been reheated. It was edible, if you were hungry. But by no means good. Clearly the cooks ceased caring long ago, and the local don’t know any better.

What started as a potential situation of us not giving this establishment any business at all, turned out to be a very positive and rewarding dining experience. After an exhaustive debate about the Entertainment coupon (s) we were using for a party of 5, our host conceded to allow us to use them. Once we got past this, we found our dining experience pleasurable. This is a very small and modest storefront restaurant with seating for 12 – 15 people. We had a very extensive menu with many combinations of chinese cuisine. There are also healthy options and vegetarian dishes. The food was very well seasoned and well prepared and served hot in a very reasonable time. The meals were delicious and our host was very, very accommodating, making certain that we wanted for nothing. Needless to say we left this retaurant with «a good taste in our mouths», as opposed to a sour disposition!

The fact I have given this establishment 3 stars has nothing to do with quality or service, both of which are remarkable. This is the only chinese restaurant we order from. The fact that they recently started closing on Sunday, the main day we would order, is what influences the overall rating.

Why all the negative reviews? I order from here a lot and their food is really good! Def. Recommend the general tso’s chicken and pan fried dumplings

I went because the «restaurant» is part of Shop West Orange. So I saved a few tax bucks. Every time I eat Chinese I order the same thing regardless of restaurant. This way I can compare accurately. General Tso Chicken, Sesame noodles (cold) and dumplings steamed. I told them I will pick it up at 5:30pm and they had it ready at exactly that time. Profesional staff, courteous and knowledgeable. The meal was excellent. Chicken was perfect, and I had real sesame noodles, not peanut butter, but real sesame seeds. The dumplings were vegetables and steamed as I ordered them, and they were very good. But I wold have preferred fried. No complaints whatsoever, though parking was difficult that Saturday night. This place is awesome. The food is excellent and they arrive on time. I have been ordering here for the last 4 years. I have no complaints. If you want good tasting food try this spot.

Terrible… no taste. delivery took over 1.5 hours although the delivery guy was very friendly. i gave one star for this and he apologized for being late. I threw away the food. call it a 20 dollar donation instead. now i am super thirsty.

The food is OK. The owner is extremely friendly. Sometimes the orders take too long, but they are always so nice that it’s hard to be mad at them.

moved to the area about 6 months ago, and this was my first take-​out spot i tried in the area. they do chinese food right… no complaints here. usually get the combination platters… tons and tons of food.
although, one time my friend and i both got singapore chow mei fun, and it was a little dry for our taste. otherwise, no complaints. every employee i’ve encountered has been really nice and friendly.

It is about 5^th time ordering from this place now because it is closest to our house.
But this time, we had it.
We order Sesame Chicken, Sesame Beef and Sesame Shrimp.
But where’s the Chicken? Where’s da beef? Ok, I do see baby shrimps now.
I’m finally giving this a bad review, unless people likes fried breading.
Ugh, and the aftermath, severe MSG coma…
Never again.
