I walked in to what might be the best hidden little secret ever. I never knew there was this spot in the area. I was thrown by all the Seattle treats I use to buy was in ONE store. Great neighborhood everyone was soooo friendly. Great prices(it’s Nyc), so I just deal! Stop by if your looking for a new grocery store, the one by me isn’t the truth!!! If that cute guy I saw in the egg section sees thing you should message me.(He was cute). So I guess I would say eye candy down in the egg section… Lol(ok I’m done). Ha

I like this place. It is, without a doubt, the best grocery store in West New York. If it weren’t for Freshco, I’d have to travel to North Bergen(Shoprite) or Trader Joe’s(Edgewater) for what I need. I’ve been to Food Bazaar and didn’t like it very much. It’s bigger, but not necessarily better. As a vegan, it isn’t easy to find replacements for everything in WNY but I’ve never had a problem here. I’ve also put in requests many times and they’ve been fulfilled within two weeks each time. How many grocery stores can you say that about? Look no further for countless organic, all natural, or non-GMO items. Freshco has everything from fermented sauerkraut to cold brew coffee with almond milk. The fruit and vegetable selection could be better(both in variety and price) but there’s no way you can’t find everything desired. I also wish the faux meat selection was larger but this isn’t Whole Foods and I get that. The effort to appeal to vegans, meat-eaters, vegetarians, gluten-free folk, & everyone in between is obvious. The employees are hit or miss but I’m not shopping here for social interaction so although it isn’t a plus, it won’t ruin my experience. Try it out. I doubt you’ll have any regrets!

Like a bodega back home in Cali without the bionicos. Fine for your basic needs. Nice people working there, but if you’re in town visiting you may not find everything you want.

Great supermarket! They have a perfect combination of great fresh fruit & veggies, great staff, good selection of all essentials and a nice selection of gourmet foods you don’t expect at a local grocery store. I love these guys!

I’ve been to this store many times. I only go there for a few items. Their meat prooducts are highly over priced and most of the cashiers are rude and unhappy although the manager and the people that work on the floor are very friendly amd helpful. The cashiers barely say hello goodbye or thankyou. So sad…

I have seen an improvement since my last review. More organic items and staff appears friendlier. Last few times in store I didn’t feel like an alien with three heads.

I will start by saying, I lived across the street from a Whole Foods market for years, and when we moved to Guttenberg I figured I might as well finally kick the vicious kombucha addiction I’d developed. Well, I was pleased to discover Freshco not only sells kombucha(GT’s) but also Ezekial breads, and some really great Spanish imports(dark chocolate covered figs, pulpo, Vichy Catalan water, etc.). They have pretty nice produce, and the prepared sliced fruits are reasonable. They also sell daiya products, for the vegans out there.

I have a hate/love relationship with this supermarket and I will tell you why… If you live in west New York you know that parking is a nightmare so the smart people don’t bother having cars. Now if you don’t have a car this place is super convenient and can get you what you need to make whatever you need happen… That’s all I love now the hate part of our relationship. The prices here are insanely high! So high that I literally won’t buy things I know I need for the simple fact that I don’t need it more than knowing I’m being taken advantage of… The worse part about this place is that you have to check the dates on EVERYTHING! They will without hesitation sell things that are expired especially bread! If you see a BIGSALE sign on an item check the sale price because it’s likely going to expire in a day or two! So no fresco market isn’t as fresh as they claim and they pretty much do just take advantage of the very same locals without cars that keeps this place in business! My suggestion call a cab and go down the hill to Trader Joes for shopping but if you need just one or two things it’s fine but BEWARE!

i’d rather go to the smaller markets in the area and support those businesses.

I love Freshco because how close it is to me, but also because of their great selection. They seem to have everything, including many natural, healthy, and organic options. Very clean!!!

A decent grocery store for us that prefer brands like Chobani, Applegate, Silk, and yea you get the point. In this area you may bump into a supermarket in every block. however, these are good for generic purchases… they mostly have a surplus of Spanish goodies… such as every sort of cheese from Central America, and all sorts of beans… which is cool with me… BUT if I can’t make it to the Whole Foods, Shop Rites of the world… I come here… for my healthy fix… where I can find organic meats and produce, every kind of Greek yogurt variation, gluten free this, soy that… etc. So, in summary, Freshco offers decently priced products, and grad selection of healthier goodies…

Your local supermarket that resembles larger chain stores with deli section, fresh meat and veggies and some pharmaceutical stuff. It has tiny aisles but has everything you need.

I used to have a bad review of this place, but i recently had a great experience. although the prices are still very high, and sometimes you find something on the shelves that is either expired, or will expire within a day or two, i must say the service has improved greatly. The other day i was purchasing some items using WIC, and ofcorse, i got the wrong milk, and cheese, their is a new gentleman working who took the time to take the itims that i had, and get the right ones… which is amazing, because its very time consuming, and the line behind me grows, while the patience of the people behind me shrinks. Hats off to Freshco for hiring great workers who actually help their guests. 2 thumbs up. Great turn around!
