One word — Longbottom. If you use those beans, you cannot be a serious coffee shop. No one would give this place the time of day if it were in Portland proper. With better beans, it could be a contender given the location.

Things done right. Simple. Really good service with friendliness that seems genuine. Good coffe the way you order it, even if high maintenance. Good breakfast sandwich — nice portion, not greasy, really flavorful on a ciabatta roll. Pleasant atmosphere –not too loud, lots of windows, and a newspaper if you want it. We give it a big fat YES.

I visited this location with my son and my friend(who recently moved here). The woman at the register was welcoming and friendly. She took our order, and the drinks and pastry were out in no time. The place itself is decorated nicely. It’s pretty spacious, and in the back, they have a trunk with children’s books, which my son and I loved. They have a water cooler and clean, plastic cups for customers. They sells cards and little trinkets. They support other local business, and they have a trivia question of the day. I’m a sucker for trivia, so I really liked that. You can tell that this place has a lot of regulars that visit; probably everyday. A few customers that came in after us were referred to by first names. I love that. My latte with peppermint was delicious, and I was so happy, because peppermint! It reminds me of the holidays and how it’s going to approach us so quickly. I would visit this place again, and you’re more than welcome to join me!

Good local coffee shop to be a regular at. Not quite enough space for a business meeting.

Coffee house is great. Nice relaxing and quiet atmosphere. Friendly employees. I am a regular and like this place very much. One thing I do NOT like, however, is allowing dogs that aren’t service dogs in the shop. Especially when they are standing on their hind legs, putting their paws on the counter and their noses on the cookies that are for sale(they are in packaging, but still). I saw this happen the other day. The offending dog was a large boxer and the employee just laughed it off and did not ask the owner to get him down. This is not sanitary and quite gross and I am a dog person(note my profile picture). Most things are right at Willamette, but dogs on the counters are not one of them.

This place has improved dramatically from the previous owner. They have put care into rethinking the menu and offering more options like breakfast and lunch sandwiches. We’ll be back for sure.

A little spendy but pretty yummy. I guess considering the demographic served [West Linn!] the prices must seem reasonable but they seem a little high to me. WCH is near my home so it’s convenient to get a cup of coffee on a lazy Sunday. Baristas are all gems. The WiFi is pretty weak though so I’ve learned to stop trying to use it. Not a super comfy-cozy shop, like I wouldn’t bring a book here to read for hours, but a nice place overall with a lot of seating. Better suited for a meeting with an acquaintance or business partner, I suppose(and often observed). Though in the summer, the outdoor seating is really lovely! Parking isn’t ideal and they share a driveway with McDonald’s which can be kinda awkward when people come flying in for the fast food drive thru. A great place for a pretty good cuppa Joe and a tasty pastry. I’ll be back for sure!

I will also chime in to say how friendly and helpful the staff is at this stand-alone, non-chain locale. And, hey, their coffee, tea, and pastries aren’t bad either. Usually, I’ve ended up here because it’s off a ramp from I-205 with several food choices and I had intended to drive through McDonald’s, thought about this coffeehouse, and said«nah» to McDonald’s. The only reason I’m not giving them 5 stars is because that’s reserved for Bidwell Perk in Chico CA, my all-time favorite stand-alone coffeehouse. But Willamette Coffee House is definitely a good place.

Some of the happiest baristas you will ever meet work here. This is a super-friendly, privately-owned coffee house that makes you feel at home. I wish they used better beans than Longbottom, but the drinks here are good and priced fairly. Most places are incapable of making a proper«Mexican Mocha», but Willamette is the one place in the Portland area that does it right. Give their«Mayan Mocha» a try; it is a tasty treat.
