Mad River Farm Market

Second time visiting here mid afternoon. Food is good but service is friendly but slow. Girls have a habit of disappearing in the back. We never got a drink refill or offer and had to run down the check. Nice people but the need to stay out front.

I found this gem of a place on my trip to Ohio Caverns today. Ditto everything Valerie W said below. While I can’t sample the dairy and also don’t love the country kitsch, I was enamored by their selection of local products! Even their pantry staples such as noodles, mustard, jams, maple syrup, and even canned chicken are local. One of the local honeys was the most beautiful looking honey I’d ever seen. Might buy that next time. This time I tried some local bratwurst and bacon!!! YUM!!!

This is a wine and deli shop with a restaurant/​bar attached. We are not from the area and would not have known one could eat here if it wasn’t for Unilocal.The sign outside doesn’t indicate this very well. Everything inside was very clean and new and the food was good and reasonably priced. Sandwiches $ 6:50, burgers $ 10.

GREAT market, just up the road from the Ohio Caverns sign, outside of West Liberty on Rt. 68… Don’t miss it! They have an AMAZING selection of Ohio wines (and plenty of domestic/​international surprises as well!!), and I was «forced» to try more than a few local «gems, as they all looked WONDERFUL! I’m not the biggest fan of all the country «kitsch» stuff, but if it’s your thing, there’s a HUGE selection here, as well as high quality candles, baked goods, jams, jellies, cooking/​baking mixes, candies, and more! There’s also a deli counter and a freezer with some yummy looking Amish country cheese, sausages, and other tempting stuff. Then, the other half of the building looks to be a full bar and restaurant… They were promoting some sort of OSU game viewing party tonight, along with what appears to be pretty frequent wine tastings. Outside, this time of year (mid-​fall) there’s a corn maze and a hay ride. Something for everyone! Beautiful, semi-​off the beaten trail place… Worth the trip!
