Really good place to go either during weekday or weekend! Cause they have a bunch of delicious food! Dumplings, noodles, fried tofu which is my fav.!! ALSO, great karaōke system, a lot of songs, great sound effect! Go to ECHO with friends! Have a lot of fun!!!

I have been to Echo before and I think that having a karaōke bar on campus is a great idea, however, this most recent trip may sadly be my last. A group of six of my friends and I were craving dumplings and had planned to go on Saturday night. Half of us arrived and ordered appetizers and water. When the other half of our group arrived, we discussed what we wanted and ordered. First, the waiter did not bring us enough drinks and could not answer questions about the menu. We finally ordered and when it came to repeat the order back to us, he did it in the most complicated way by totaling all of our orders together instead of by pairs we had ordered so we knew it was correct. After finally sorting out and confirming out order, he returned shortly to say that they did not have the Pork dumplings with chives and eggs, and the members of our group who had ordered them decided to order a different type. He then returned again to make a funny joke. He said«you know the chef in the back already doesn’t like me, but now he hates me since your order is so big!» I was appalled. First of all, we already weren’t very happy with his service; second, we are trying to enjoy the company of friends and do not wish to be interrupted for your own personal reasons if it does not pertain to our order; and third, how dare he imply that by bringing this establishment business, we are hurting his work relationship with the chef! If I was the chef, I also would probably not enjoy dealing with this server, since we couldn’t stand all of 15 minutes with him. He came back again and informed us that they did not have a different type of dumpling, the beef and celery ones, and at this point, we needed a minute to discuss what we were going to do. We ended up cancelling our dumpling order and paid for the appetizers which were delicious. I brought the issue up with the manager and apologized for cancelling our order and she apologized for the poor taste in humor from the server. She mentioned that they were changing ownership thus changing some of the menu, and that the server should have notified us in advance that they did not serve this food. She was very kind, and the server did apologize. I would recommend Echo for their food, although if they are changing owners I do not think I can. I was very disappointed, and if you do decide to venture here one night, I hope you can get a more professional server than we did, and that you also can get all that you order.

WHOSINGSTHATSONG? I do! If you walk in and think Taylor Swift is there, it’s just me. Come say hello! Haha. This is a place on campus near Scotty’s Brewhouse and Neon Cactus. I don’t think many people know of it and I have to spread the joy. What is this? A karaōke bar. Yes. Most people close it out thinking, «I am NOT singing in front of people. No way!» However, relax my friends. You and your small group of like 1 – 12 people get their own PRIVATE room. Hooray. There are three microphones in each room. I truly can’t tell the difference between the melody mic and two harmony. I feel they are all equal and how loud is each person singing and how close are they holding the mic to their mouth. Now, it’s not public karaōke and private rooms so it must be expensive, right? …NOPE! Very affordable. The problem is it’s so much fun and they are open until 4am the hourly rate adds up. It’s only $ 6.25 a person per hour in your own private room with comfy black leather couches, «soundproof» walls(how much can it be in the common area-but zero room to room noise), and tv screen with lyrics, 3 microphones to share or pass, two tv remotes, English and I believe Korean. Once you learn the buttons on one(or both of you can read them) they do the same things. I can use the Non-English one for volume changes at the least if the other is across the table with a friend selecting next song with it. The song list here is incredible and thousands without a doubt. There is like EVERYTHING when you search by artist, band, genre, male, female, and even other languages. You can have a whole list of songs in your queue, or with like 5 people pass the remote on to let the next person pick a song while three others are singing. My friends and I take turns. This is in West Lafayette near Purdue. With that being said we celebrate diversity. Boiler up! There is multiple languages and it’s legit. I learned I have two friends that can rap in Korean. That was a totally awesome shocking surprise and impressing to me. I love different and talent. I thought I was with like the coolest people there. But, I got them as my friends that night. Hooray! Lucky jackpot. They even queue’d up: Let it Go(Frozen), Wanna Be(Spice Girls), and Love Story(love my Tay Tay –Taylor Swift). They like knew my musical dreams & think I can actually sing or something. Bahaha! Food/Drink: They do have some food from open until a certain time the kitchen closes. I believe it’s Asian Fusion food. The menu doesn’t look long & I haven’t eaten here personally — but my friends tell me it’s quite good. They serve a limited alcohol menu but hey, they have some. It’s only sake, and alcohol energy drinks called FOUR. It’s mostly for hanging out and singing really. I drink before I come(if drinking that night) and have one there during my hour, which quickly turns into two hours easily. Tip: The first time you visit, your first half hour is free. After that your $ 6.25 per hour begins. I have never seen someone leave at 30 minutes not having fun(not in my group! Wink!) Tip 2: Be aware of the price adding up if on a tight college budget. The cost is not bad at all(for here or ANY private room place) but for the college kids a couple drinks and two hours can add up at this luxury. It’s hard to stop when the employees pop in and say 5 minutes left of your hour. They are not putting you on a cut-off timer… But you have to decide to stay or wrap it up. If you are out five minutes late they won’t harass you at all. But be respectable humans so the place doesn’t need to place timers on its rooms due to inconsiderate people who could spoil it. Like, you CAN finish your song and one more without being cut off mid song… Wouldn’t that suck? No one likes that. Echo likes its customers having fun! Additional fun: There are tables for food and board games out front. Also, they HAVE board games here. It’s totally free to come play board games with friends here. You can bring the purchased food & drinks in the karaōke rooms if you want, or you can get food and a drink out front. Also, no purchase necessary to chill and play board games really. Seems like regulars and employees do this the most but all are welcome. I totally give this 5 stars because it is something with a little extra to be on a college campus and here in Lafayette/WestLafayette/Purdue. It’s the only one of its kind, and it is SO fun. I never thought my friends and I would be able to afford renting out a private room with entire karaōke set up, couches, and a door for the shy friends who open up here very quickly and join in the fun. I love that it is something totally different than anything I have seen or been to before and I can’t lie — I love singing & am aware I am tone deaf. My shower head doesn’t judge me though and my friends don’t mind and laugh and pee their pants almost sometimes. It’s all part of the fun. I say if you like to sing(not can you, LIKE to), sing your heart out here! Cheers!

Expensive. One time we went here and got charge 100+ dollars for an hour. 25 dollars an hour? Ridiculous.

Great place to eat, sing, and hang out! They have a spacious lounge for pool, big karaōke rooms, and amazing food.

Although the private rooms are kind of nice, the karaōke system in them is disastrous, especially when looking for Korean songs(most of the songs have to be looked up in Chinese and not Hangul). When we asked if they was another way to lookup Korean songs, we were given an old songbook that did not go past 1999. The English selection of songs is okay for pop and RNB but very limited for other genres like rock.

Best bubble tea in the area. I know that a lot of time and effort was spent on perfecting their dumplings, which are delicious as well!

I’m from Austin, came up here to visit a few friends. We have three Karaōke’s in Austin and let me tell you I totally did not expect a small midwestern town to have such a nice place comparatively. The place was CLEAN. Big selection of music and huge TVs. It made for a really nice karaōke experience. I tried the bubble tea and their lamb kebabs and they were pretty good. Hard to find lamb kebabs anywhere here. I can honestly see myself chilling there all day.

Great place to sing Karaōke and get bubble milk tea. The owner and servers try very hard to please their customers. They have a great pool table and various board games while customers are waiting for a room. Great place to hangout and pretty much the best Karaōke around the Purdue Campus. I always visit when I’m in the area.

My friends and I were really excited to try the place out. The weekend price is around $ 6 a person per hour for a private room with nice leather couches and your own computer and TV. We toured the place beforehand and asked how late it’d be open, we were told 4 am. So we all hung out and decided we would come back in the early morning hours and check the place out and we were excited it was open so late. Around 2AM I called just to make sure and was told it’d be open till 4. We arrived a little before 3 hoping to get in a good hour and it was closed. I don’t understand why I was repeatedly told 4AM and never told that they might close sooner. I wouldn’t waste your time with a business that lies to customers.
