The management is horribly rude. And they fleece you after the lease is done, they give barely 50% of the deposit even after I scrubbed and cleaned my entire apt well. And they do not give any justification for their costs. I have had far better experiences with landlords closer to campus. This by far is the worst.

This place wasn’t good. The rent was high, the apartment was just okay, and the management was really frustrating. When I was there I had to walk all the way to the main office to pay my rent(get with it guys, we’re in the 21st century and online pay is a thing), and I got warnings for stupid stuff. Once a couple friends came and put a balloon on my door and some streamers and fun notes and I got a notice from management saying if I didn’t take the stuff down in 24 hours I would be charged $ 30 per day. Which is a little… off-putting. My apartment also had zero insulation I think. It felt like the wind blew through it. I was in Crestview I. Also my roomate wanted to sign a 6-month lease to graduate early and they wanted to charge him double for it. Which is ridiculous. When they asked me to sign for another year I didn’t even waste my time responding. This place obviously doesn’t care about their tenant’s experience, they’re in it for milking people for their money with inflated campus rent rates.

Do not bother living here! The management is extremely RUDE and slow at managing anything! They clearly don’t know how to handle any situation and could care less for any maintenance request you need. If any appliance does not work, they make it seem like it is your fault even if the appliances are clearly from another century! For student housing, there are far better options especially for the rent they charge.

As an off-campus student with Super-Senior status, I enjoyed my 1-year stay with Crestview. While I didn’t live at Crestview North(rather, Crestview’s ‘IV’ property at 337 South Chauncey Avenue), I did come to their office once a month to drop off rent checks and occasionally interact with the staff. The management was kind, I never experienced a problem with them. The building I lived in could benefit from a little bit of TLC, as it hadn’t been renovated in quite some time(if ever). Appliances were passable, certainly nothing I’d commend them for. Parking situation was ideal – free and ample. Rent was reasonable. Location was awesome and I felt like I had plenty of apartment space to store all of my crap. My biggest issue was with the paper-thin walls that did nothing to dampen sounds from one unit to the next. Also, the steps leading up to my unit were crumbling and in need of repair. Overall, Crestview(IV) was a nice spot to call home for 2+ semesters. I’m very glad I found my 1-bedroom posting on Craigslist! Would recommend.

The management has become rude, picky and unfriendly. They say NO to everything. They only allow you to sublease once in your entire duration of lease, even if the apt is lying empty. They do not allow you to change blinds to curtains even if you ask them permission. They are really bad about maintaining the cleanliness of the place. Before 2010 the management was fantastic, but now the place just sucks
