Caesar salad with some spice followed by Wagyu cooked to perfection ! Ended with Moroccan tea n cheesecake. Along with everything it has a calm relaxing vibe, you must go if you haven’t !

Definitely for special occasions as the prices are expensive. The service is superb and very professional. Paying for parking is overkill. Loved our server Jessica. The lobster tail and sea bass was on point. My drink not so much… Can say I will visit again soon.

Great ambiance and service up until our steaks came out. I ordered the Porterhouse(medium well) and two petite Filet Mignon(1 medium well, 1 medium rare). My steak came out medium rare along with the first petite that was supposed to be cooked like mine. The second came out over cooked. I sent mine and the petite back to be cooked to satisfaction and they still came out undercooked. It was my birthday meal that got screwed up badly but you can’t be perfect all the time, right?

I recently came here with some friends for restaurant week and I do not regret it. I enjoyed every dish I received, well we all did. I had the arugula salad with crispy prosciutto and although it doesn’t look like much it was«the bomb». Also, I ordered the short rib sandwich, and they were not stingy wit the meat at all. The service was wonderful, all of the staff were so sweet and professional. I loved it

I took my good friend here for her birthday. We’ve been to the location in Santa Monica several times. We thought it would be nice to mix things up and to check out their West Hollywood location. This location was much larger than Santa Monica location. Although you have the beach right next to you at the Santa Monica location, I prefer the ambiance at this location. The service was excellent and the recommendations that we got from our waiter were great as well. *Grey Goose martini* This is my usual pre-steak drink. I asked for it to be dry and dirty. Not the best that I’ve had, but not bad! Every bartender makes it slightly different. *Sea bass* My friend ordered the sea bass. Since my friend didn’t share any of it, I’m going to assume that it was very good. :) *New York Steak* I’ve recently started to move away from the usual fatty rib-eye steaks and eat leaner cuts of beef. The New York steak is one of my favorite cuts that fits that description. They make a pretty flavorful steak here, but I really do miss the fattiness of a rib-eye steak. *Creamed Spinach* Good stuff. A good combo to go with the steak, but the portion was a bit on the small side. *Mollydooker Two Left Feet Cabernet Sauvignon* At first we weren’t going to get a bottle of wine, but after our waiter informed us that bottles were 50% off, we decided on this Cabernet to go with the steak. This was a pretty good Cabernet. *Tres Leches* This dessert was complimentary to celebrate my friend’s birthday. They brought it out with the shooting sparkler. That was pretty fun. Overall, we had a good dining experience here. If it were up to me, I’d pick this location over the Santa Monica location. It was a good place to celebrate a birthday!

This is a copy of an email I wrote to them after one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The Assistant GM sent me a general response back two weeks later, something along the lines of «I want you to know I feel horrible and am addressing these issues.» Gee… thanks. Here’s my email – «I wanted to provide some comments regarding my experience at Boa on Sunset last night. I wanted to treat my boyfriend to a nice holiday dinner and chose this location. We had been to Boa in Santa Monica once before, where the food and service were impeccable. This was my first time at the West Hollywood location and we were expecting the same experience. Unfortunately both the food and service were horrendous. First, our server asked if we wanted flat or sparking water and we said flat. He said „okay Evian“ and my boyfriend said „no just flat“ and I said „regular water“ to which the server responded „Evian is flat“ and walked away. He came back with an open bottle /canister of water and we then assumed that must be what everyone is served. Later in the night when we asked someone who wasn’t our server for more water he said „yes just tap water?“ and came by with a pitcher of water, which is when we realized we were tricked by our server. We ended up being charged $ 9.50 for the „Evian“ that we didn’t even want!!! That is so outrageous! The server only gave us two options(sparking or Evian) and even though we said just regular flat water(I guess we should’ve specified TAPWATERFROMTHESINK) he brought out a $ 9.50 bottle of water! I feel so scammed and taken advantage of. Secondly, there was a private party in the room next to us with a sliding glass door separating the two rooms. Towards the end of our dinner the wait staff opened this door and the air completely filled with the smell of marijuana! The door stayed open and we could smell it for the rest of the evening. I have NEVER smelled marijuana INSIDE A RESTAURANT, let alone a nice restaurant that I spent a lot of money for. This is so utterly ridiculous that you would allow guests to smoke anything inside, let alone that, and make other guests smell it while they are eating! Besides the above, our server was terrible and barely talked to us and made us really uncomfortable. The food was also terrible. My boyfriend and I both ordered a petite filet cooked medium and his was cooked way more than mine, it was almost well-done. I would like to mention though that besides our server, the other staff(the men who brought our food, cleared the table, packed our food to-go, etc.) were wonderful. They all deserve a lot of praise because they were all very kind and attentive. Needless to say I won’t be back to this location.» The very LEAST the GM should have done was refunded me for the Evian. Next time I want to toke up and eat disgusting overpriced food I’ll be sure to go to BOA.

Hmmm… where do I start? This is a trendy spot in West Hollywood that celebrities are known to frequent. The ambiance is great. The décor is great. The servers were very courteous and nice. Finally, I know to expect less than great tasting food at «trendy» spots. That in and of itself is an issue, but that’s life. Here’s what went wrong: The servers forgot to bring me a steak knife; they ordered my friend the wrong steak, and brought us a credit card bill to sign, with no pen! Again, they were really nice, but totally clueless. Worst of all, the food was very average. For US $ 110 for one drink, a soup, steak and a side, I expect better, even at a trendy restaurant. I will NOT be going back.

Good steak, check. Good service, check. Swank ambiance, check. LA douchebaggery, check. If you’re looking to impress someone with a cliché«LA» experience, this location of BOA is right for you. Nestled on the west end of the Sunset strip, BOA is very LA chic, with moody lighting, modern décor and servers that are waiting tables till they make their big break in Hollywood. With a full bar and a lounge area, it’s a great place to have dinner and a night cap. It’s also a nice venue for a special occasion, both large and small. The steak here is somewhere between good and great, not exceptional. The filet is better than your average filet at a steakhouse chain like Morton’s or Flemings, but not the best I’ve ever had. They do reliably cook the steak as ordered(I usually go for medium, my husband medium-rare), and they get a nice sear on the outside. What really sets BOA apart is the garlic clove and tangy sauce they serve with their steak. The sauce is like a decadent, warm A1 and the garlic clove takes the flavor to a whole new level. Squeeze and spread the mashed roasted garlic all over your steak for sinful kick, and make sure your date does the same so you’re not self conscious the rest of the night. The sides are ordered a la carte. My favorites are the brussel sprouts and mac n’cheese. The mashed potatoes are unmemorable for a steak house, as are the desserts. Dinner here will run about $ 100 per person, with drinks. Be sure to make reservations!

I believe that this place doesn’t have enough reviews for the amazing lunch it offers. I went during the week. It was semi-empty, which was refreshing yet kind of dull. Our party was 5 people and the staff at Boa accomodated our every need very quickly. The service is exceptional. We ordered several appetizers but the most memorable one was the Baklava. Also, I got the Skirt Steak as my lunch entrée. I know, I know. Who gets steak for lunch? I do. ANDITWASAMAZING. Seasoned to perfection and cooked perfectly. The images don’t do it justice. It comes with fries. What more can a person ask for?

As much as this is a cool place and one of the famous posh spots in hollywood/Beverly hills for years, I can’t give BOA more than 4 stars. The vibe is great, service is great, décor is great, the food is only good. There is one problem with BOA dishes — they are under salt. All the dishes with no exception had no salt. The ingredients are so good, so the chef shouldn’t be afraid to get dishes returned. be a brave chef, put your balls in the dish, put everything you got in the dish and forget about people who might send dishes back. It’s a good place, very fun, just don’t expect the best food in Hollywood.

BOA will always be a special restaurant to me because that’s where I saw The Beckham’s dining along with Gordon Ramsey and Ken Paves — smack in front of my table. I came to realize«that gorgeous man» is not my friend, but he looks sooo familiar because that’s David Beckham as my husband simply pointed out to me… Anyway, had the opportunity to dine here a couple of years later during a short visit to LA. The food is excellent and so is the scene. Very minimalist trendy and dark and sexy is how I would describe it. I liked the food, but will say, avoid the Ceasar wedge — it’s 2 wedges of Ceasar leaves and 2 half tomato slices — very uninteresting and you have to cut the tomato and salad leaves yourself! The meat is delicious though. I recommend this hot spot for a romantic dinner with a beau or just a fun, upbeat dinner with friends.

Had dinner on a Monday night which was quiet but really nice. It was a cool evening and the restaurant is indoor outdoor. But there’s a retractable roof so there’s plenty of fresh air and heaters to compensate for the weather. We started out with a couple of blackberry smash drinks which is a mixture of vodka, Cassis, lemon and lime. It was pretty good but very strong, not a lot of blackBerry flavor. being vegetarian people always wonder why want to go steak places but really it’s all about the side dishes, I had a plain baked potato, smashed broccoli and sautéed mushrooms. The mushrooms were incredible, all the side dishes were great. Everyone around me seemed to really enjoy their steaks and or seafood. I really like that you have the option of choosing different sauces and different rubs, blackened anything is always a huge favorite. The restaurant is self is really beautiful there was a fireplace in the room that we were sitting in which, really added to the ambiance and it’s dark with lots of sparkling lights and big round booths. Our server Ashley was excellent, she was very attentive and knowledgeable and helpful. We probably had at least four or five people attending to our one table. We were there for a birthday and they served a very nice complementary dessert with the sparkler.

Ok… expected the moon first time trying. Prices are from the moon, thats fine, as long as food is on par with it, its not, at all. Either A) People are clueless and its all about showing off and hype, feeling your an important person in this world, hey look at me! Im here, or B) They really had an off night. I’m going to review everything from the filtered tap water to my Cajun Rib-eye. Ambiance: A+. Sit outside on the patio, this is a must. Inside is dark and no comparison to outside. Bread= Its like baked in olive oil sourdough, good.(A) Appetizers: Grilled prawns= B+(3 measly pieces for 20 bucks) Beef Carpaccio= comes steaming smells awful, tried first time didnt like at all(C-) Crab cake=(A-) very good, but again you pay 20 bucks for one, yes ONE crabcake. Tuna Tartare= Ok, but not much flavor.(B) Scallops(B-) Seared well, too much sodium. again, only 2 for 22 bucks. Their appetizers are all not worth it, because of ridiculously skimpy portions and 20 bucks a pop, just go to the main course.(overall grade: C– based on taste, portions) Onion Brick= Absolutely disgusting, soggy, and shitty.(F-) Skip this all the way. Outback steakhouses is far better, which is sad. Dont even THINK of ordering this. Potatoes au gratin, and baked cauliflower sides= both meh. Being generous. Fries= Come in a basket, very good thin crisp(A) Table caesar salad= Our«mixer» put so much garlic in the salads that it was enough to kill all the vampires in the world, WWOOOOOWW. All six of our mouths were burning from the first bite. I mentioned this and all 3 were taken off the bill. It wasnt anything spectacular; sometimes I wonder if people on Unilocal have been outside their homes at all the way they rave a bout a salad that is so hard to fuck up yet they did with flying colors.(D-) Ive eaten salad buffets in vegas that have a comparable caesar salad; this was the only appetizer thats portioned well though, ordered 3 split comfortably into 6. MAINCOURSES: Chilean sea bass(F-) Horrific. Both undercooked all the way, send back 2 of them, came back virtually the same. Avoid at all costs; this and the onion brick took the gold in terribleness. (My dish) Cajun rib-eye=(B+) the outer edges were crispy and delish, meat was tender, but lots of fatty parts I had to spit out over and over. But the bites I held down were delish. Came with spinach salad(hot and wilted from the heat of the plate) and more of those disgusting onion strings. I know its cajun but waaay too much salt. Tomahawk(100 bucks for 2 people portion) Friend ordered this; its a huge piece of rib-eye. Ordered well done came charred, or else taste was good.(C-, B+ if not charred) Oh yeah, filtered tap was smooth,(A) Valet parking is $ 11 with validation, or good luck trying to find metered or free, not worth it on this crowded strip. Just cough it up. I think people get in such a false state of euphoria when they enter and feel so good about themselves being the«it» crowd that they dont realize the large discrepancy in prices charged and overall food quality. I have no other explanation. Needless to say won’t even think of coming back, another one and done huge disappointment. The only highlight was seeing our bill reduced by 30% from items being sent back and not liked, but I would much rather have paid full price and enjoyed everything thoroughly.

Favorite restaurant in LA! Went for my recent 28th birthday celebration and was blown away. It gets 5 stars in every category: Food, ambiance, location, and staff Food — There isn’t a bad thing on the menu. The steak is simply phenomenal. The Mac & Cheese side with truffle is sinful. The Caesar’s salad that they make in front of you is the best Caesar’s I’ve ever had(probably because it doest resemble a traditional Cesar’s salad, but regardless). The dessert options are all equally wonderful. Ambiance — Now I say if its a nice day/night, its a must to sit outside. Probably the best part about the evening was knowing that we were sitting right on Sunset Blvd and looking up seeing all the high-rises and still feeling like we were tucked away in our own private alcove. The restaurant has an amazing set up with an awesome bar/lounge and overall is perfectly lit. Location — Enough said Staff — Just as gracious and wonderful as you could ask for in the setting. They really go above and beyond and love what they do, which just makes the experience just that much better. Will become a birthday tradition.

So I’m currently sitting in the BOA lounge while the fire alarm is going off for the 4th time this evening, we were told about an hour wait and waited an hour and a half, we checked in and we were told another hour. Our server in the lounge has been inattentive and failed to drop off a menu we requested 30 minutes ago. So all in all very disappointed in the service, which is sad since we all wanted steak tonight! Oh well off to find somewhere with better service!

Great but not perfect. Spent our anniversary here(one of many anniversary dinners this year in Cali!) Based on reviews and the fact that it’s m known to be a celeb hot spot, we had high hopes! Appetizer– table side Caesar salad. Get it for the salad, not the experience. Unfortunately, compared to other steak houses that offer this«experience», it was flare-less. The staff member stood about 3 feet from the table and performed his salad magic. The actual salad was great. Had a nice spicy kick which we enjoyed. Entrees– we had the rib eye and the Kansas filet. The Kansas filet was as tender as steaks get. I’d give it a 4⁄5 on taste. The rib eye was nice but nothing stood out. This would get a 3.5÷5. Each steak includes a run or sauce. I wish they focused on the flavour is the meat instead of the extras. Dessert– We got the snicker cake for dessert which was ok. Nothing special. If you’re looking for an epic steak house that focuses on flavour, try something else. If you want better than average food with and incredible atmosphere, BOA should be your restaurant of choice.

This is ALLABOUTTHESTEAKS After doing major research and weighting so many other steakhouses, I decided to try BOA for a special occasion. 1– Thyme Smoked Beef Carpaccio $ 17 For some reason I think this could’ve been better. Beautiful presentation, the dome is lifted to allow the thyme smoke to dissipate leaving a hint of smoke. The beef was fatty, melt in your mouth good, but the truffle aioli, as intense as it is, was just too much cream over the amount of carpaccio. This is almost always an issue with carpaccio, easy on the aioli would be better. Good thing we had the herbed warm bread to deintensify the truffle flavor. 2– Cajun Cowboy Rib-Eye $ 58. Large 16oz? rib eye, perfectly medium rare, as juicy as possible, with a nice blackened rub(excellent crust) and blue cheese butter on top. The whole dish just worked. I was very happy and exactly what I was hoping to achieve here, a true steak done right. Side of fried onions, too oily. 3– Center Cut Filet Mignon $ 48. Slightly under-seasoned to give way for your choice of sauce. Cabernet was the suggested which was thick and intense, perfect but too common. I also asked for the chimichurri(extra $ 2) which they did not bring. 4– Brussel Sprouts, very good. Nicely charred, tasty, caramelized onions and bacon. $ 11 5– Malbec $ 14. Perfect, excellent for the evening. 6– Vida de Playa $ 15 cocktail. Milky, slightly heavy, strong, sour, limey. An interesting cocktail. Nothing I’ve had before. Good not great. 7– Tres Leches dessert $ 12 — which was basically a bread pudding, warmed chunks of soft bread, not overly sweet, topped with horchata ice cream. I liked this very much, happy happy. Service very good, performed at 90% in my opinion. Valet $ 20 or $ 11 with validation which you must validate with stamp inside. Little to nonexistent street parking. Ambiance dark, business, area too large to be overly romantic. I would recommend it for true steak lovers with a sophisticated palate, expect to spend at least $ 100 per person. Perhaps not somewhere you’d visit too often, good for special occasions.

The one reason why I love going to steakhouses as a vegetarian are for the side dishes. I love a good side dish and Boa has some of the absolute best sides I’ve ever tasted. It was my birthday(July 26th) and my friends took me here to celebrate and boy was it a celebration. First, our server Ashley was amazing! She is so sweet, accommodating and made us feel very welcomed. She knew the menu inside out and gave great suggestions on what to order. On top of that she had a great personality and sense of humor. We started off with cocktails– I ordered a lavender flavored cocktail(I can’t exactly remember the name, but it’s the only drink with lavender on the menu) and it was delicious. I’m falling in love with lavender infused foods and drinks. It’s definitely a west coast thing because I haven’t found anything like it on the east coast. Dinner: Creamed kale– a scrumptious and cool alternative to creamed spinach. Chipotle lime corn– the perfect blend of spices and corn. It was so tasty that I ate it cold the next morning after I woke up. Goat cheese baklava– an amazing light and flaky pastry filled with warm goat cheese. Crab and black truffle gnocchi– creamy and delicious with the best flavors. My friends order lobster, steak and other surf and turf items that they immensely enjoyed. Dessert: Ashley presented me with a chocolate, lemon and raspberry birthday dessert accompanied by one of those firework/spark candles and everyone sang happy birthday. It was a very sweet moment. I can honestly say that Boa is one of the best places I’ve dined at and my birthday was perfect! Other notes: –Valet parking –Full Bar –Intimate ambiance –Everyone that worked here was super friendly and funny. I fell in love with Joshua. Him and Ashley work great together as a team.

I don’t know why we haven’t tried this famous steakhouse over the years, but here we are on July 4th Saturday! There wasn’t even too many ppl, guess most ppl were out of town. I liked this way much better, so relaxing and quiet, exactly my kind of dinner date night I was hoping for. For a steakhouse, to my surprise, there are so many non meat choices on the menu, so many seafood and some vegetarian items, also gluten free dinner, very nice indeed! Had a Goose vodka lemon drop to start, was a great pour, tasty and strong, we brought our own Perrier brut too. Corkage was $ 25, very resonable for an upscale steakhouse. Starters: Half dozen raw oysters, with mignonette, cocktail sauce topped with horseradish, tiny Tabasco: there was three kinds of oysters including my favorite Kumamoto, they were so fresh and sweet, I had most of them cause hubby wasn’t in the mood for oysters. Lobster«escargot» puff pastry: a very unique escargot dish, should have called it «lobster pie». It was amazingly flavorful, with very generous amount of lobster and escargot in it, the puff pastry was so good too. This was a fantastic apptizer, just get that! Entrees: Bone– in Kansas City filet mignon in rare plus, with bacon jam in signature J-1 sauce: it was a very nice cut cooked perfectly to rare plus, hubby said the signature sauce and bacon jam were bomb, he absolutely loved his steak! Fish of the day swordfish with corn salsa: very fresh fish, it was not tender enough for me, but the salsa was so good, added light but very nice flavors to the fish. Not the best fish I have ever had, but still acceptable, I guess? Side and dessert: Brussel sprouts with bacon: hubby loved it, of course I couldn’t taste it because of the bacon. Housemade cookies with scoop of vanilla ice cream and hot fudge dip: OHMY, the cookies were heavenly delicious! I really love cookies I just try not to eat them often, it was a rare treat for me, so I enjoyed every bite of it! And Hubby had a very good old fashioned Vesper martini to finish the meal. Both of us enjoyed this holiday dinner date very much, it was very relaxing and romantic, the food was so delicious. Although I still think they can’t make very delicious fish at most steakhouses, but I enjoyed the entire dinner experience so much, It was very lovely! Our server was extremely friendly with such pleasant spirit, all staffs were very polite and friendly here, loved it! Think we would love to come back from time to time, this is definetely one of my favorite steakhouses in the hood! Ps. Validation is $ 11 up to 4 hours, pass 4 hours $ 20, pass 5 hours $ 30, without validation $ 30.
