Phở So 1 is a very good place to get a nice, warm bowl of phở on a cold day. Actually, it’s a good place to get phở in any weather. It’s also nice that it is located in a large strip mall next to Kyoto Sushi, since there is a surplus of parking. I come here way too much and always order the large phở with brisket, steak, flank, tendon, and tripe. The broth is very flavorful, and I do not attribute the flavor solely to the Monosodium Glutamate that is undeniably added. Instead, you can taste the different flavors in the broth, which makes eating the soup so enjoyable. The phở comes to the table in such a short amount of time that once you begin conversing with a friend, the soup already arrives, steaming hot. Once it does arrive, the routine I follow goes like this: add bean sprouts, add jalapeños, add a few mint leaves, spritz some sriracha, and devour. The only issue that I have with this place is that sometimes, the service is lacking. The language barrier is evident, as many of the servers speak in broken English. This becomes an issue when asking questions about the menu, and when asking for refills on drinks. Sometimes, I add a little bit too much sriracha into my soup, and I down my water within a few minutes. The servers never really come to check on you, which is understandable at a Phở restaurant, however, it would be nice to get some more water. At the end of the day, I love phở. I have only been to Phở So 1 when I have my phở craving, however, because it created a solid first impression. I find no reason to drive far to another phở establishment and run the risk of having a bad experience. Instead, I will stick with Phở So 1 until they no longer provide the quality of noodle soup that they currently do.

This is the second time they gave me the wrong item! I’m starting to get really frustrated. I order off the menu using the numbers corresponding with the item so I don’t understand. And the item on the menu is always something I can’t eat… I love my Vietnamese food but I might have to start going somewhere else.

It’s alright. I have mix feelings sometimes they get my order right sometimes they don’t. Regardless the food is great, but the meat can be over cook sometimes but no food critic here just a person who knows what’s overlook, raw, and just right. Either way I’d still eat. The only down side is just mixing up my orders 50% of the time I come and visit with either friends or family. Still going to give a 4 stars though because I’d still visit despite of the errors I was given on my food.

Wow, I don’t know whats better their authentic Vietnamese food or the prices. Well the combination of the two makes you want out of your seat! First of I would like to say I have tried a few places that have Phở and I am a picky eater, I hated those placed and decided to take it out on Vietnam(not really, i just chose not to eat Vietnamese food). After hearing about this place from someone that lives in Vegas and a bunch of people from around the area I decided, that i don’t like Phở and that was that. I am a stubborn idiot! I was dragged here and I had not eaten in like 12 hours, so I was hungry and I decided to order something small to get me by, I was also mad at everyone for lying to me about what we were going to eat. My first plate arrives and with the first bite of my meal I asked for the menu, not because it was bad but because it was a taste of Vietnamese heaven. I finished my plate quickly and decided to try my friends Phở, and damn that was good too! So I proceeded to order 3 plates for myself, mind you the portions are HUGE but the prices are low! I had a little bit of everything and brought quite a bit of food home with me. Everyone enjoyed the Phở. The moral of this story is don’t be an idiot, more $$$ does not mean better food, and always try something new, unless its Thai food! I do not like Thai food… Will this story be continued when I go to a tasty Thai restaurant maybe… but someone will need to drag me their as I continue to be the stubborn dumb-$$ that I am.

Food was good, service wasn’t. 1) Clearly asked for no noodles, and only vegetables. They gave me noodles. 2) Never got checked on once after the food came. 3) About four employees were all sitting on a table in the corner. I used to work in a restaurant and there is ALWAYS something to do. 4) A few small flys also hovered around the table.

I’ve never had any complaints coming here. They have a large space, so the wait usually isn’t too long. It also doesn’t take very long to make phở so it goes by pretty quick. The price is very decent and everything tastes amazing

Great food! Nice to have a Phở spot at this part of the valley. I ordered their #1 combo Phở soup that has a little bit of all kinds of meat and the price is $ 8. I asked for extra meat and the the waitress said the cost would be $ 4. When I received my soup and second bowl with extra meat stuff I was not disappointed! For $ 4 they gave me a huge amount of meat! Service was attentive and the waitress friendly. Prices are competitive. Place is clean. Plenty of parking. Great Phở spot if you are in West Hills.

100% Authentic Phở! Amazing food, and great service. I come here weekly and never seem to be disappointed. High recommend the #17 Rare steak phở with beef ball.

It was my first time to go to this Phở So 1, but I have patronized the Sherman Way location since before birth. Er, I mean it seems this way. This location is clean, nicely lit and spacious, basically the polar opposite of the other location, but the food was every bit as delicious. Its the same Phở So 1 we all know and love, but reimagined for West Hills. I generally stick to the basics and order #1 which is the combo so it has some beef steak, tendon, tripe along with the noodles, broth and onions. Its delicious, filling and fills my soul with happiness. So needless to say, I eat the #1 often and LOVEIT. #Phosho I tend to be a one note guitar and only tend to order the same thing everytime, so I haven’t really tried any other items, but I am sure everything else is delicious. I live closer to the other Phở So 1(Sherman Way) so I tend to patronize that one more often, but this location was every bit as delicious. I tend to never have any issues with service and it tends to be more off hands then most. They will seat you, come back and ask if your’e ready, bring the food and come back to take away the plates and bring the check. So if you expect the same attentiveness as most other restaurants, you’re probably going to think the service is terrible.

I am from Norcal, so my expectation for Phở can sometimes be unreal. Phở real. Although this place had pretty decent food, I felt the portion can be bigger, and soup can be hotter. I liked how the place is spacious, but food came a bit slower on the slower side. Overall, it’s just not a 4-star place for me… Will I come back again? Sure, if I am in the area…

I ordered takeout so I can’t comment on the dine-in experience. The restaurant space looked awkwardly used though, with lots of space and not enough tables. Anyway, I ordered the phở with beef and tripe, and the order came out fast and really well packaged for takeout. It came with everything including packets of hoisin and Sriracha and all the herbs. When I got home maybe 15 mins later, the broth was still hot. Hot enough to still cook the rare slices of beef in my dish. The broth was flavorful, the noodles kept in good consistency, and I thoroughly enjoyed the quick and cheap meal! They take credit card, which is awesome, but don’t take American Express.

Me and my boyfriend decided to try this place since we now live nearby. It was really busy when we arrived(a good sign). We were seated quickly and ordered our food and drinks. Their Thai tea was perfect :) … They give you the option for a small or large bowl for your Phở, so we chose small and it was perfect. It was so good, great flavor. Everything was fresh and perfect and I left warm, full, and happy! Definitely our new spot :)

From the outside, you wouldn’t know how large and spacious it feels and is on the inside of this restaurant. Phở So 1 is generally tidy, non-traditional Asian décor, has big flat screen TVs around the restaurant with sports on. Service is nothing over the top, it’s quick, easy, no one really comes back to check on you(sad face), and when your done eating… you walk up to the register to pay your bill. Everything is reasonably priced here. I went for lunch here and it was pretty busy bustling with customers and people picking up to-go orders. Phở is so perfect during these cold winter days/nights. I ordered the Shrimp Phở, $ 6.25 –tasted clean, fresh, warm, had 5 large shrimps and of course came with all the traditional sides. I’d come back to try more items, as it is a local spot for me. 4 stars– primarily for the quality/taste of the food.

Phở So 1 is a legit phở spot in the valley. They have multiple locations. I like the one in West Hills because it’s not far from my work, it’s clean inside, there’s a lot of seating, plus the service is fast. I usually get their phở with just tendon here. The broth is flavorful and the tendon is always really tender. They also aren’t stingy with the lime, which is a big plus. Their appetizer and rice dishes are also good. I haven’t been disappointed with anything here. I also like the Vietnamese shakes, especially the jackfruit shakes. They take credit cards unlike many other phở places.

Faster and cheaper than McDonald’s! What? Yeah… really! I paid $ 7.25 for flavorful phở with rare steak and tripe. Tripe is delicious! If you don’t like chewy or are grossed out by the idea, then they have other options for you! I placed an order to go and it was ready literally two minutes later! I’m sure they have everything pre-packaged so it made it super fast. The broth was lukewarm, I suggest that they maybe heat it up better and add another minute to my waiting time, I’ll be ok with it. Delicious and flavorful I won’t be going to McCracks after finding this! Yay for winter and phở!

I have eaten here a few times but I haven’t actually given a review. The location is big and clean. The service is fast here. They have quite a few people on staff so you shouldn’t have any trouble getting someone to serve you. The food is prepared pretty fast here. If you ordered Phở, expect it to arrive at your table in less than 5 minutes. Other dishes, will taken a little longer to prepare. The taste of the food here is like any other Phở restaurants, nothing special or bad about it. The prices here are very affordable. It is average for Phở restaurants.

Used to go their Reseda location but this is closer to my home. It’s also near all other shopping facilities for convenience. I have been here a few times and hated the very first time. The staff were rude and snooty, especially to Asians. Gave them the benefit of the doubt since they had just opened. On my last few returns, things have changed. Service is more friendly. The staff is new. The broth has always been good and consistent. Portions are good. I can only attest to the Phở as that’s what I’ve only had here. This is a Phở place after all. Veggie sides are fresh. If they continue I’ll possibly change my rating to 4 stars.

The restaurant is big, clean, and airconiditoned! When we initially walked into the restaurant, the waitor kept asking us «togo»? We said no many times but he kept asking us the same thing. So I kinda just walked away and sat at an empty table. We got the #1 and #2. The two are the same thing except the #2 is a smaller version. It had a few different types if meat in there which I like. The noodles were not overcooked and still had a little bite to them. The broth was delicious(I am quite the soup killer) so by the end, I had a bowl full of uneaten noodle leftover. To pay, you have to walk up to the register as you leave.

Phở in West Hills… in a shopping center. My friend who lives in the area said it was good, and she’s picky, so we went, and indeed it was good… I mean very good. It was the best phở I’ve ever had. That’s how good it was. The rolls were splendid also. Why not five stars then? Because once the food was down, they never came back to check on anything. I would have really liked to have had more tea. I had the small sized serving, and it was plenty… although, it was so good, I wished I’d ordered the big bowl! We were there at a very slow time and were about the only people inside the restaurant and there were about five employees standing around, not offering any help. So, the phở is the best. They take your order, get it to you in a timely manner, and then they just ignore you. They didn’t even bring the tab to the table. I had to go up front to get it. Still, it is great phở. So I say go, but order enough food and drink to last the whole meal, because once they bring it to your table, that’s the last you’ll see of them.

My new favorite place to get phở. This is by far the cleanest phở restaurant I’ve ever been too, and the food is just as authentic and delicious as any other phở restaurant. I wouldn’t say the service is 5 stars worthy, but I think the employees here are friendlier than the ones at phở so 1 on reseda. Even though they are always busy, the food comes out quickly, and the servers are very efficient.
