Rude customer service. Unfriendly. Walked in with intentions to get a pair of eye glasses. Walked out and went down the block to sterling optical

I paid almost $ 200 for a pair of frames that cost $ 50 from the manufacturer… WTF. While i was there the old woman behind the desk would take vouchers from people for their eyeglasses and put them in the computer before choosing glasses and talking to the customer to make sure they know whats going on. instead she processes their voucher and tells them now they have to get their glasses here because the voucher is already processed in Cohen’s name and its no good anywhere else… basically trapping them and she did it twice. listen, i learned the hard way, you dont have to. buy a nice pair of frames online for a few bucks(instead of going to cohen’s where they will almost quadruple the price) and go someplace else!!! i was a regular at franklin square eye care but i was impatient and i needed glasses quick and i got FUCKED!

I don’t know why we aren’t allowed to give ZERO stars. The woman behind the counter is so rude, as other reviewers have mentioned. She does her best to rattle off prices so that you won’t know what it’s actually going to cost you. I had bought a Groupon that said you get $ 200 towards glasses, and that frames start at $ 69. Once you get there, they show you a rack of frames and say the cheapest start at $ 200! The sour-puss woman then rattled off a list of fees, which, even with the cheapest frames, would bring my glasses to $ 450! That’s more than I paid for nice frames with progressive, transitional, scratch-resistant lenses. Since I wasn’t willing to pay $ 450, I said that I’d just take the cheap $ 200 frames(which probably are $ 20 frames), and I’d get lenses at a later time. Sour-puss said that’s not allowed – you MUST buy their lenses. This is not at all what the group stated. And… if we were going to follow what the groupon stated — why weren’t there frames for $ 69?! DON’T go there. Unethical bait and switch.

Absolutely avoid this place. Very unethical pricing scam. Caught them dead to rights. They tried overcharging me $ 200 over the selling price of a frame then lied about it. Awful awful place

Save your money and go elsewhere. Horrible small tiny waiting room with metal folding chairs. Had to wait 20 minutes even though I had an appointment. The Dr. herself is a nice lady who knows what she’s doing. But the employees, not so much. When I went to pick up my pair of glasses, the woman behind the counter just handed them to me and went about her business. No watching me try them on, no adjustments, nothing. 3 weeks later, my glasses took about a 12 inch fall off of my night table. To my dismay the lens popped out AND the frame over my left eye broke! I couldn’t even try to pop the lens back in because the frame was cracked in a million places. When I took them back, the same woman behind the desk looked at me like I had 10 heads. She said, «Well, you DID drop them.» I’ve had glasses last me for 5+ years with regular dropping, lol! She replied, «Well, we’ll fix them just this once but anything after that is your reponsibility» Yeah, um no. Keep your crappy frames and customer service. UPDATE: It’s now about 6 months later and one of the side stems of my frames completely snapped off the front part. These glasses have not even had regular use as I am a contact lens wearer. They are the quality of a reading glasses frame from the dollar store. NEVERAGAIN!

Dr. De Junco gave me a worse prescription than the one I came with and refused to change it. I had to go to a different doctor to get another exam and pay again. Cohen’s refused to give me a refund and told me to contact their main office. Their main office was extremely impolite on the phone and refused to give me a refund for the exam. Taking them to small claims court!
