The Soundview at Savin Rock

What an extreme disappoint. We lived here for 3 years. The first year was great, though there were issues related to the building renovations that dragged on. The leasing agent at the time was a delight and the building manager was on site most days and there was an on site super. In the past year, the assistant property manager has become the only person in the office and she is completely incompetent. She will call you and misquote policy to you, lie through her teeth, and fail to do her job. More than once an instance came up where a flyer needed to be distributed about some kind of service situation. We lived on the fourth floor and almost never got it. I also had an issue where I was verbally harassed by a group of other tenants who were drunk on the property. The building has extremely old windows that are not caulked. It gets frigid in the winter. Our electric bill reached $ 700 per month and the room never went above 60 degrees. They no longer have an on site super for emergencies so when one of the sprinklers broke or a hot water heater broke, there was no one there to immediately turn it off. When you call maintenance you call a third party. Moreover, as we’ve moved out, they have made the process extremely difficult. They allege our movers caused damage. Our moving company asked for a copy of the surveillance video and the bill. The assistant property manager says she contacted them, but they dispute this fact. I’ve asked for written documentation or a signed statement to give to an attorney that backs this up and have not received anything. I also requested a copy of the bill which they say I’m liable for and was not given one immediately. I was told one had to be «requested.» I’ve called the actual property manager a dozen times and not gotten a call back. I’m considering legal action at this time and plan to report them to Better Business for some questionable business practices.

My girlfriend and I had to leave abruptly because of extreme harassment. Every time we brought it to the leasing offices attention nothing would be done. My dogs, me and my girlfriend all felt very unsafe. The building manager is very very rude and disregards important issues that needed to be addressed. And is extremely unreliable. When my girlfriend and I moved out they aggressors were still allowed to stay. We were lied to about the actions to finalize moving out. The lack of communication was aggravation beyond believe. I advise anyone looking into sound view to make sure your 150% comfortable with everything and anything. If you have dogs be careful. My puppy has terrible anxiety from residing there. And use your right as a tenant to call the corporate office if you think it’s needed.
