Best of the best. Food is great. Restful and home-like atmosphere. Nice clientele. Complete menu. Reasonably priced. Ultra efficient and cheerful waitresses. I’d give it a 6th star!

We ate here on a Sunday afternoon. I give it 3 stars based on the customer service and the variety on the menu. Otherwise the food was ok. It wasn’t anything spectacular. I had fried fish fillet and my daughter had a shrimp quesadilla. The food tasted like maybe it was a bit under seasoned. They claim to have some really good breakfast deals. Maybe I will try those.

I usually always go to this place to have some decent Mexican food in the area, the food is usually always pretty solid, but today while ordering delivery never have I encountered just pure rudeness over the Phone. In which I asked for a Jarrito which is mostly always served everything time I’ve gone there and the guy proceeds to say sorry«this isn’t Taco Bell.» What type of person says this to a customer? Assuming I don’t know the difference between authentic and Americanized Mexican food. I don’t know if I’ll ever eat here again after this incident. I also hear stories of how the staff constantly judge and ridicule customers who are not Mexican and/or speak Spanish.

The complainers here are probably looking for the fake experience of food coloring and artificial corporate Mexican food chains. THISPLACEWASGREAT!!! The food was made quickly, looked and tasted fresh. The servers were very polite and informative. I went with a table full of people and everyone ate til they were full. The dishes were all worth the $. This is a true Mexican spot and a real diner on top of that. Its right off i95 and easy to find. You best believe I will be back. Did I mention the food was off the hook!!!(Means GOOOD!!)

Can’t speak for the non-Mexican food items(besides the chili, which is great) but the food here is amazing. Don’t let the surroundings fool you — the food is fresh, flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend!

Wandered into this place for lunch today. Had a fantastic experience. Just got a grilled chicken torta for $ 5.50, but I really enjoyed how it was prepared. Simple ingredients, but very fresh, and it came together really well. Will definitely be back again.

This place doesn’t look like much from the outside but they have the best Mexican breakfasts ever. I’ve had just about everything on the menu and haven’t been disappointed yet.

DISAPPOINTING!!! four burritos was good for a couple years when they first opened. I used to get food from them several times a week some times twice a day, breakfast and diner and Sunday I would eat-in with my girlfriend and friends after Church. I even remember the names of all the original crew. NOMORE. I WILLNOTORDERANYMORE because of terrible service, rude waitress, there’s always something wrong with the food or they send me the wrong food and don’t try to fix it(They even try to blame me for the mistake. smh) The portions are smaller and they lack flavor. They OVERCHARGEDMESEVERALTIMES Lets be clear, I don’t mind paying extra as long as they give me what I’m paying for(always check you bill, and do the math yourself, don’t forget the tax) I believe in always giving another chance. That said. If someone tells me a good review I’ll confirm that and post a new review. I hope you find this helpful

People were not very welcoming when i walked in… I ordered 2 burritos(1 beef &1 chick.), a chimi., & queso… anyway they added a soda due to my order being over $ 30 …that was nice. Disappointed to say the least. It was 5:30 …very slow. I guess breakfast is the big seller here. burritos were not all big & no meat :/…chimichanga was very soggy! I’m afraid I wont be going out of my way to come back soon! Too bad I would’ve recommended if it was good… :(maybe dinner is a bad idea here… no guacamole wiht my meal either… bummer all around

I would not have known about this place if it wasn’t for Unilocal so I’m glad I was doing my research in this area. It’s a hole-in-the-wall diner but has a nice ambiance and plenty of seating(tables and counter top). There are old movie posters on the walls and they’re playing classic diner tunes. The food is delicious and you get great value here. I went with a torta for my first visit and have my eye on the chicken noodle soup and enchiladas for when I return. They also serve soda imported from Mexico which is very cool — I got a glass bottled Mexican Coca Cola(with real sugar!) and a lime soda. Plenty of parking all around West Haven green. Overall it was a great experience and I’m glad I discovered it, I’ll be back for more.

I’m here frequently and four burritos never disappoints. Always great quality food and fast friendly service. The breakfast menu has such interesting variety that we almost shouldn’t call four burritos a diner. What other diner serves chilaquiles or huevos con nopales?

Great food, great service. The combination of breakfast and Mexican food is a win! Good proportions that fill you up, I’m hooked.

Excellent! This is where Mexicans eat(my in-laws), so you know it’s gotta be good. But the service is a bit slow and they only refill your coffee a couple times, just know that going into it and you’ll enjoy.

We were unsure about a Mexican diner, but my friend assured us it was better than it sounded. It was so good… I had fajitas… just like Puerta Vallarta. the portions are huge and service is quick. all in all good food for a good price.

This is a small, hole in the wall but it has a large menu. The Mexican fare is very well prepared and there are always people dining in the restaurant. They offer counter, sit down or take out and the take out is also, well prepared.

I love this place. I have been here many times and the food is always great, never had a bad meal. The service is always friendly and fast. They do breakfast, I’ve not tried it though

West Haven’s best kept secret. Delicious Mexican food that reminds me of the cuisine I used to consume in California on a daily basis. From the mole burritos to the juicy chicken tacos to the haruchas(?), my mouth dances with happiness as I take each bite. Plus, the food is so cheap. It’s a great value for excellent food. They also serve Italian, Greek and American food, which I hear is excellent. My mother in-law raves about their pancakes, which I’ll have to try on my next visit. Another secret(and bonus!) is they sell their mole sauce for only $ 2 to take home and make your own meal.

One of my absolute favorite Mexican places in CT! I am from CA and TX and am very picky. This place is authentic and good! Love the tostadas, nachos, chile rellenos, and everything else I have had on the menu, including the flan and tres leches cake. I go whenever I can. hole-in-the-wall atmosphere makes me love it that much more. Park on the street or in the lot behind.

Order Mexican food here!!! The other food is subpar. I had brunch here yesterday and it was good… and cheap! huevos rancheros were 5.95-you can’t really beat that. My sister got a lunch dish with shrimp and it was delicious.

I have to start off by saying(though it may be a no-brainer for most): order Mexican food at Four Burritos. Why even bother going to a place that serves authentic, delicious regional food and ordering a standard American breakfast? I speak from experience since on one occasion one of my dining companions ordered the French toast and was majorly disappointed. Meanwhile I was savoring and indulging in a delicious platter full of huevos rancheros, smothered in chile sauce and special Mexican cheese(you have to request cheese on this dish, it’s not listed on the menu that way and, my apologies, I forget the exact name of this tasty cheese). Do yourself a favor and go to a regular diner if you just want bacon and eggs. The food is very good. I’ve also had the tostadas with lamb meat. Amazing. I like the lemonade they serve and their coffee actually seems a step above other local diners. I’ve mainly had breakfast at Four Burritos so I can’t speak to the dinner items much. However I did try a bite of grilled chicken from my friend’s fajita platter, which was a huge portion, and the meat was tasty and perfectly cooked. The ambience is a bit plain or somewhat awkward: blue floors and walls with an old, faded mural, so the décor isn’t the best but don’t let that stop you from trying it. It’s simple yet clean. The prices are decent. I wouldn’t say cheap because I believe the Huevos Rancheros is around $ 9, compared to other diner style places where most breakfasts are less than $ 5. Service is friendly also. Definitely a good addition for some nice variety in the neighborhood, as other reviews mentioned.
