This is a synagogue that is Orthodox, but don’t let it scare you away. If you’re wondering what it would be like to sit in on an Orthodox service, this is the perfect place for you to give it a go. The rabbi is friendly, the community is accommodating and welcoming, and there is definitely strong kavanah. The location is pretty nice, and the shul itself is good sized, but not overwhelming. And their hand-washing station in the gathering hall? BEAUTIFUL!

I went to Beth David Synagogue for the first time about 2 weeks ago. My girlfriend feels more comfortable with a Modern Orthodox service than conservative so we decided to give it a try. She loved it because this was what she was looking for in a service. It reminded her a lot of what she went to when she previously lived in Chicago. For me it was definitely a different expeirence. I had never used the Art Scroll sidor previously, so it was strange. The person sitting behind me was EXTREMELY nice and helpful and could tell I looked a bit lost. He helped show me where we were as we went and was very friendly about it. A great environment!
