my favorite liquor store! I love the ever rotating growler options. plus you get to taste test them to see if you like it before filling up. The guys that work the beer side are so helpful and knowledgeable with the crazy craft beer selection! Have they tried them all?! they must have with all that information!!! The wine side is chock full of yummy choices! The two main people i see there(Andrea and Dino) are oozing with wine knowledge! any questions??? ask them! loyal customer right here! i rarely, if ever, go anywhere else. only down side… the parking lot SUCKS! but that’s not their fault.

This is just my favorite liquor store. This specific Joe Canal’s. I live nowhere near it and yet I keep finding myself at this location. I think I mostly just love that I can stand in front of the make-your-own six pack section for an absurdly long amount of time while I try to decide which beers to purchase and no one will act like I’m a nut-job. In the end, I almost always walk out with 12 beers instead of six. Because choosing is impossible — and they have such a great selection! And it’s 10% off when you purchase mixed six packs. The people who work here have always been super nice too. As others have said, the parking lot is horrendous. The spots are tiny and since it’s right next to the busy Shop-Rite and other stores, it’s always packed with people. Yesterday, after sitting in my spot with my reverse lights on for way, way too long, I decided to let myself out. It’s *that* type of lot. But, oh well, this store is worth it. Also, I realize the things I stated above happen at other stores too, but I’m partial to this one.

Love this place. We drive past other liquor stores to go here. They have such a big selection of good craft beer. And a lot of hard liquor options. Prices are reasonable.

LOVE the beer selection here, and the staff is friendly. I have yet to try the craft beers that they have on tap, but I’ve heard great things.

I just entered the wonderful world of growlers here, so I figured it was time to update my review. I can’t give them a rating any higher than my previous 5-star review, so I’ll have to leave it the same! If you are into craft beers, the growler bar is the way to go! You buy(or bring) a 64 oz growler bottle and fill it up with any one of several different microbrews that they keep on their rotating tap. It’s different every time you go, and they’re very helpful with samples if you’re not sure what you want to go with. The only drawback is that these don’t keep very long, so it’s not really cost effective if you’re a light drinker by yourself. Unless drinking 64 oz in one sitting appeals to you, It’s best if you use the growler to share with your buddies! (However they do occasionally get 32 oz half-growlers, which may be better for individual consumption)

You can buy your favorite spirits anywhere, but you will never find better prices! But what makes Joe Canals better than anyone else beside pricing is OUTSTANDINGCUSTOMERSERVICE! I know very little about wines, but can always count on the right advice. I can always ask for an item I can not find, and they will help me find it. And I don’t know how they do but they have the best cashiers in the business. If you are not shopping at Joe Canal’s Liquor, you are really missing out!!!

I love this place. I’ve been shopping here for my adult beverages since I was of age and am never disappointed. Great wine selection, plenty of single beers to mix a six pack, and reasonable prices on everything. The Growler station is my favorite part though. I went today and realized after not being used in quite awhile, my Growler smelled a little funky. The employee working the Growler station let me know what I could use to clean it. Since I wanted to fill it up, he offered to take it in the back and take care of it for me. I’m currently enjoying Southern Tier Krampus from a squeaky clean Growler. Joe Canal’s, you have my craft beer loving heart.

How have I not reviewed this beloved store yet? Shame on me. I just thought everyone already knew & loved this place as much as I do. But if not, here goes… They are conveniently located next to a great Shoprite, which can make parking a bitch but not a deal-killer. The plus is that you can run next door for snacks to go with that awesome growler you just picked up. Love how you can sample all the beers on tap at said growler station. It can be a bit pricey, but it’s a half-gallon of delicious freshly pulled craft beer to go! Then they also have this incredible selection of hard-to-find craft beers by the bottle. It may be an even better selection than the Foodery & that’s saying something. I especially love this place for their mostly thoughtful selection of wines from literally all over the world. We are both wine lovers & bargain shoppers in my house, and Joe’s does just fine by us. They have the best selection of wines in the $ 10-$ 15 range in region(excepting the peerless Moore Bros). They also recently added a cheese case, which goes great with both wine and craft beer. Although we really miss their original wine buyer Tom(wish I knew where he works now), they do alright by us. They really are the best in area.

Just in case anybody was wondering, there’s wine tasting here on the weekends… It would be hard to not find what you’re looking for in this huge liquor store. Although I always forget to look for a mead here, this is one of few places that carry Leblon cachaca. I always talk to workers, and even customers for new things to try. Recently a customer turned me onto a premium rum that he drank while away on vacation. It’s basically a liquor superstore. Rows and rows of wine, every beer imaginable.

Wow a growler station! Boom !! Who doesn’t love this? You can fill up your growler with delicious micro– brews, newer samples they have posted on the board, basically it is a great site to see. Plenty of beers to choose from along with the 2 isles of a wide variety of single selection micro brew you can purchase, make your own six-er to go ! Great selections of wine with facts behind them, so no need to worry if you are making the right or wrong selection. Just in case you are hesitant on a selection they do have staff members who are very qualified to help you on the right path. Also they have a great liquor selection for you to choose, specialty liquors and with a great price to go with. Great for the holiday seasons also, pick up some great gift boxes for the ones you love. Good customer service, bright and clean, wide isles for you to peruse with a shopping cart. Go load up and get your load on, you’ll be happy.

Great Liquor store They have an APP that tells you what beers they have at the growler counter and the APP tells you what new beers they have in stock. When you go to Growler Station — they even give you tastings so you can see if you like it before you bring it home. They have an extremely good selection of craft beers — you can even make your own six pack. If you are a beer geek like me — this place is tremendous. They have a very decent wine selection as well. You can get all of the South Jersey wines(many like Heritage and Auburn Road are really good). They will bring in people to do wine tastings and booze tastings as well. I had Russian Vodka tasting there —(I am not a Vodka guy) — but it was still cool to get a chance to taste it right in the store. I’m glad I only live 5 minutes from this joint.

Although I hardly want to incriminate myself, I can’t deny the fact that it is totally worth it to me to drive across the bridge on a regular basis to frequent this Joe Canals. The staff are one of the main reason – so friendly and VERY knowledgeable. They’re also very appreciative of the business, which as a consumer(and a BIG consumer at that) leaves us feeling proud – even after we look at the bottom line of the receipt. They have a FANTASTIC wine selection and are always willing to recommend new things. Their«Build your own 6-pack» is why we started going there and is probably the main reason we keep coming back. FIVESTARS!

Not long ago I stopped in here with my wife for some beer and she noticed the«Growler Station» and asked what it was all about. I explained to her how they have 8 different high quality beers on tap that change often and they sell it by the jug or growler. I also told her they let you sample the varieties before buying them. She then said she was going to buy me a growler and fill it up for me for my Valentine’s Day gift. Cool! Since Valentine’s Day I have filled it 3 times with Harpoon Celtic Ale, Bear Republic Red Rocket, and Flying Fish ESB. Next time I might splurge on the Unibroue La Terrible if they still have it. No longer will I be buying 6 packs or even building my own 6 pack to find out I don’t like this or that. Now I can taste it before I buy it. I used to despise coming here because of the parking lot, I still do, but picking up some fresh beer makes it worth the trip. If you friend them on facebook you will get beer menu updates when they change kegs.

I must say this is a great store, especially if you like craft beer. They frequently get in new beers all the time on tap that you can fill your growler up with. Want to sample some brew first? The employees will gladly let you sample until you find what you are looking for. I had a few questions about some variety packs. All of my inquiries were answered by their friendly staff. Overall, great service, great selection, and good prices.

Fill my growler with fresh beer for $ 11? What is not to like?!? The guy behind the filling station gave us a nice size sample of each of the beers we were interested before making our choice and made his own suggestions. We wound up getting a Yards IPA and a Riverhorse Hop Hazard and both were gone within 24 hours. The bottle selection here is great as well. Not worth the drive all the time, but definitely worth hitting up if you are in the area.

Eh, it’s clean and well stocked, but the employees are hit or miss. I’m more of a fan of Canal’s(as in the REALCANAL’S, not this Joe Canal’s crap), but this is the closest liquor store to my parents’ house. When we’re stocking up for a family party, my mom and I usually make our booze runs here. It’s a smaller liquor store in a fairly convenient location, in West Deptford, close to Mantua, Oak Valley/Pine Acres, Woodbury, Woodbury Heights, and Wenonah. I go here more out of convenience than I do out of choice. Even though I’m not a huge fan, they do have a pretty nice selection of both beer and wine, so I can’t complain. If I can go in and pick up a six pack of something a little less standard than Bud or Corona, I’m usually pretty easy to please. I wouldn’t recommend making a special trip there, but if you’re nearby and realize you forgot to pick up a bottle of wine, it’s useful.
