The Verandas

I have lived here for 6 years now and am moving out due to high rent. The current Manager Terry is horrible! I’ve never dealt with someone with the worse customer service ever. The security gate which we pay to have, has been left open for months ²⁴⁄₇ due to the manager not wanting to pay the cost to have it fixed. She had an incident with the repair man and he won’t come back. The termites are eating this place to death. They can’t even tent a building at a time due to cutting into their bonus! How horrible is that? This place is going to fall to the ground before they do anything. There are some bad kids here that they do nothing about. Boys breaking vending machines, laundry room windows etc! Management here is more concerned about their bonus in their pockets than having a beautiful building with happy residents. One tenant needed roof repair in Feb which wasn’t fixed and more damage with heavy rain. Terry sends tenant to file insurance claim on her own! Wrong, it’s Verandas fault! There has been nothing done here to validate any increase in rent. This place needs to be reported to BBB
The best person that worked here was Amy Foster, now she’s gone.

The only reason I moved out of this complex was because the rent is pretty ridiculous. If you can fork out out nearly $ 1400 a month for a one bedroom, then go for it! The verandas is in a great location– close to the freeway, restaurants, shopping, etc. I lived on the very edge of the complex, which was nice and quiet. My apartment was next to the only piece of grassy area for the neighborhood kids to play on, which I think is kinda sad. If you have active kids, don’t expect too much «running around» room. Just send them to the pool. It’s big, beautiful and well kept.
I’m going to miss living here. The staff (Terri, Nate, John, Jade, and Louie) are amazing. Very friendly and helpful. You can count on them for anything.
I was able to keep my apartment in good condition for the four years I dwelled there and as a result I got back nearly ALL of my deposit! (When I did my final walk through, Louie was honest and straight forward about the «damages» that would need to be corrected.)
I will miss this place, especially the sweet strays that I fed on a regular basis (I broke a rule and did feed the homeless kitties) ;) The cats, just like the staff, were friendly and well liked. Good luck and have fun living at this complex if you choose to do so!

Really is a great place to live; I’ve lived here now for close to 9 months and I’ve never had an issue with the management or the tenants. The grounds are always kept clean and the staff is super friendly. Terry, John, and Amy in the office are just fantastic and always willing to help. The fact there is almost 24 hour security it nice; plus the gating also gives a secure feeling. The apartment buildings themselves are 40 years old; however, the apartments that are now being moved into for the last year or so have been all completely renovated. The location of this place is perfect too, right off the 10 freeway in West Covina. It’s 5 minutes from Cal Poly, 20 minutes from downtown LA, and 20 minutes to Anaheim. Gotta love it!
