I like the sandwiches here. It is an alternative to the subway across the street. It is not readily seen from the street. It is hidden in the hospital building. Since it is not customized, it appears better than subway. I always end up being messy with subway due to my customization.

I love the food here. The Grilled Super Steak Combo is my favorite. Great food and decent prices is not what you would expect from this place but it delivers. They also sell Ice Cream and snacks if you are just trying to maintain if you’re waiting at the pharmacy next door or have an appointment upstairs.

The lion share of this place’s customers undoubtedly come from the workers and clients of the Queen of the Valley hospital and surrounding medical businesses in that building complex. It shares space with a pharmacy, has seating available inside, and a couple of tables in a patio area with a view of the parking lot. The mish mash of signs made from colored poster board and black lettering grabs your attention, and confuses you at the same time with their different specials. Inside there is a large traditional menu, but you’ll find yourself ordering one of the listed specials like soup and sandwich. I had their special with the half-sandwich and soup. The sandwich is a ham and turkey with cheese. Their soup was split pea. With a drink, the total came to $ 6, give or take some change. The sandwich was wonderfully layered with meat, tomato, and lettuce. The bread was warm, toasty, and soft. This is a good place to eat while waiting around for a prescription to be filled. I came back a few days later and this time tried the grilled cheese with soup. It’s weird because their special was listed as a grilled cheese, chips, and drink for about $ 5, but for a $ 1 more, I could substitute soup instead of teh chips. Interestingly, had I just got the grilled cheese and soup separately, it would have cost more than just getting the modified special. On this visit is where they went down in rating. Although there were tons of different specials listed, I felt restricted to their specials exactly as listed. For example, if I wanted a half sandwich and soup, there’s a specific sandwich it has to be. And although this visit was several days later than the first visit, they still only had split pea soup. One would think they’d rotate the soup of the days, or not list specials with a certain kind of soup if they don’t have it all the time. And now for the kicker. I was looking forward to the grilled cheese, but after the first bite, I was disappointed. Instead of the cheese being a fresh slice of American, melted inside, the cheese tasted kind of powdery, like the kind you might see at a high school football game when they serve nachos. Even this day’s split pea soup tasted a bit more bland than the version from just a couple of days earlier. Oh well, on the bright side, if you like supporting mom and pop type places, or hole-in-the-wall joints, stop by this place and get a soup and sandwich.
