Great school with lots of solid professors who care about their students. The administration and the admissions team really care. The HVAC and ELECTRICAL program are one of te best I’ve seen. Their drug and alcohol program is fantastic.

Great teachers, students and administration! I referred 2 friends! I love the convenience, facility and how much staff cares.

Okay here goes the scoop I don’t even think this school is even worth one star I was trying to give it zero stars. But like always when it comes to the school I’m always forced to do something that I don’t have to so I had no choice then to give it one star.
A little bit about myself so you won’t think that I’m some punk kid out of high school just complaining.
I have been doing HVAC installation and sheet metal for 10 years and electrician’s four years.
With a combination of building engineer of three years.
With that said I believe I set the stage that I know exactly what I’m looking for in a trade school.
Okay let’s start the only good thing about the school they will help you get your EPA universal certification but that you will be paying a price of $ 9000 just for that.
A good study guide will cost you about $ 100 and taking the test itself on a refrigeration supply house will cost you about $ 80 and online course will cost you $ 500.
Let’s talk about your hands-​on we all know as field tradesmen this is one of the most important things for us to get a JOB! and this is the one thing you’re going to get very little.
You will spend the entire time sitting down and reading a book and lectures which you can easily do that by joining an online course online.
The hands-​on takes place towards the very end of the class day towards the very last two remaining hours of your class if you’re lucky or If the module/​chapter requires it otherwise you will remain sitting down.
They never have parts the equipment never work everything is always missing in other words you’re never really going to get anywhere for example if you need to replace Schrader valve you’re going to have to wait until the end of the whole week just to get that one part that means you just wasted 4 or depends at what time you go in or five days of your week waiting for that one part.
Well you will think to yourself then I can probably do something else wrong!!!
If you want to do something else for example practicing on the skills you’re week on like welding or charging and its not in the curriculum of that module you’re screwed you have to wait until the part gets there.
How do the modules work example.
They will be a chapter in your book that talks about hardware screws nuts and bolts fasteners etc. miscellaneous stuff.
Instead of going into your lab and work on things that are going to be very essential for you in the field they will not allow you because it’s not in that module in another words, if your chapter or module is talks about different types of screws, bolts, nuts and fasteners.
Thats all you’re going to get to do entire week or for the whole module, at that point the only screw you will be thinking about will be you getting screwed for $ 9000
Again how different is this from an online course?
Now let’s talk about job placement!
Basically the career counselor is going to forward you every single link she finds or in indeed and craigslist and other career website you can do this yourself.
But if you’re someone that came out a high school has no experience good luck, they’ll say they’ll do their best to find you job, very few places want to give your job as a refrigeration tech with no experience but you can definitely find a job as an installer in other words grunt work that would be a great beginning step for you if you just came out of high school.
In my case they’re constantly trying to give me jobs as an installer if that was the case then what was the point of me going to school, I already have already 10 years as an installer why would I need to spend $ 9000 so you can send me at the end of the line.
they don’t understand that they think that installers and refrigeration technicians are the same thing and other words they don’t care just get something and signed the paper and goodbye.
Let’s talk about your toolkit!
You’re going to get a toolkit that it’s okay it’s not so bad for someone that’s a beginner it could work but for the people that have experience on this field it’s a total waste of money they will get your loan $ 500 for some stuff that you can get for less than $ 150.
Let’s wrap this up in a nutshell if your out of high school and looking for a career do little bit more time on research LA trade tech now that the school that doesn’t play around the only bad thing for me is that it’s only available in the morning.
If you’re an experienced tradesmen you will find out very quickly this is a total rip off of a place.

They will sweet talk you and show you the campus and tell you all the sweet stuff but not the sour. Make sure YOU READ AND ASK
all the questions before you think of signing that contract. This school will NOT work with any payment plan that you need they will make sure they
have you sign that contract before you change your mind. They will have the staff blow up your phone with calls and texts so that you can sign the contract.
