Big store with lots of wonderful crafts and craft ideas! They always have great sales!

Yesterday Friday May 28^th I went to Hobby Lobby in Eastland California for the first time. The girl at the checkout counter told me where to go for the product I was searching for and she was very pleasant. When I got to the yardage Department I asked the girl where the tacky glue 4 material was and she points in a Direction and I said could you show me please. She says it’s down at the bottom and I told her I had hip surgery and I cannot bend down so she proceeded to say well there’s one up here. I got the product but was very displeased with the service I got from this young lady who was in the yardage Department who could not smile seemed like she did not want to be there and I mention that when I went up front to the counter. If I had treated a customer in my past business like that I would have lost them. Well guess what it was my first time and my last if that’s the best they can have to help you out I don’t need to go there.

They cheat their customers. If you haven’t noticed the cashiers have to put in the price individually into the register. My friend and I noticed they charged me for products that were 50% off of full price items and when we pointed this out, they told me to get back of the line. The «assistant manager» told us we are supposed to get the discount and we asked how the receipt worked and he had no idea. He was clueless. By the time we got to the front again, they wouldn’t give me a discount for a packet of papers when it clearly says a pack of paper with one sheet of stickers. It’s a kit that was supposed to be 50% off. They said it’s a sticker pack so they won’t give me the discount and they thought it was all stickers… The entire aisle said 50% off paper packs, paper kits, paper single sheets. They wouldn’t give me a discount for my pack of cardstock that was right above the discount poster. They argued it’s card stock and not paper. They wouldn’t give me a discount for any of my paper goods except for one item that was «regular pack of printed papers» when I grabbed 6 products that are made of paper! So be sure to give a good argument because these people will try their best to not give you any discounts! Oh and we asked to assistant manager to go with us to the aisle to show him the sign, he refused. They didn’t want to be proven wrong. Advice: ask about your discounts before you purchase.

Get there on before it closes. John the manager did not let me in at 8:05pm. I told him I knew what I want and he shook his head and said they close on time.

Is my man card safe for writing this review? It should be because this store a lot to offer if you’re looking for things to complete The Man Cave. With an ugly name I never wanted to come in this store but I was working on a project and this was my last desperate stop. To my surprise they have a lot of really cool stuff. If you’ve seen American Pickers you’ll know what I mean. They have something for everyone and almost everything you can think of. Once you get greeted at the door forget about seeing any other person that works there. Once you get lost in the abyss of crafts the customer service goes along with it, never to be seen or found.

The selection of items in this store is awesome! However, there is always a LONG line. Usually only one or two registers open. One of which is the return & exchange line where they also ring up customers. I’ve never witnessed a manager open a register when the line is long. If the manager is not up front standing around, they need to be called out of the office. I’ve never seen a manager on the sales floor. And I’ve never witnessed a friendly manager. Overall customer service from employees is hit or miss. I really wished they would put more importance on the customer experience! It’s not that hard.

Love this place! I got so excited when I found out that Hobby Lobby was doing to be just a 15 minute drive from my house. The store is located conveniently off the 10 freeway. It is kept mostly clean for how big the store is. Bathrooms are kept relatively clean. Most of the staff here are very friendly. You can find almost anything you would need for your project. They have weekly 40% off coupons just like Michael’s, so never buy anything here for the full price! I’m wedding planning now and this (and Michael’s) is my go-​to crafts/​DIY store! It’s huge and there’s so much to see. Will definitely be returning several times!

If you’re an artsy person that likes crafts or DIYs then this place is for you.
Honestly I can’t stand staying in here for more than 10 minutes because of how big the place is and how there are so much things. I’ve been here a few times and each other was with my sisters.
There are some awesome stuff and things in here. They even some nice vintage furniture here as well.
Almost every associate that I’ve ran into have been nice and were willing to help out as well so kudos to that.
One cool find I found was how they have big letters (about 4 – 6 feet high) with bulbs in the middle. And how they have different fonts and colors as well.

Talk about eye candy! This place was a great find for décor. The staff was very helpful. I was looking for something to help decorate my place and they have a wide selection for all types of rooms. This store feels like a dream, everything I could ever want is there. Things I never even thought about are found here. Awesome place to shop, great environment, place is nice and clean.

This place is amazing! I can’t believe I have never stepped foot into a Hobby Lobby all these years. As a big fan of craft stores and home goods stores like… Michael’s, Jo-Ann’s, Kirkland Home, Home Goods… even Marshalls… this place is all of these wrapped in one with a cherry on top! The home décor was amazing and they had everything sectioned off by theme… dummy proofed for those who ate style challenged. Even the fabric section had some amazing upholstery fabrics… more modern and gorgeous textiles than I ever remember seeing at Jo-Ann’s. The Ribbon section was refreshing… everything was 50% off… as a matter of fact most of the store was 40−50% off. I got some sweet deals. Don’t forget to print a coupon… and coupon will only be used on a regular priced item. Go check it out!

Every time I walk into this store I feel as if I were in heaven!!! So many amazing things I wish I had a bigger house so I could decorate it all!
Love that they have a wide assortment of Christian deco. I definitely want it all.
And the fact they give you coupons and great sales is a amazing! A girl can never say no to a sale!
My daughter enjoys the arts and crafts selection. Whenever she has a project for school we come there first.

SCRAPBOOK SELECTION ONLY: I love the selections at hobby lobby. They have their own brand of merchandise. In particular, all of their stamps are their brand so you’ll find a lot of wooden stamp designs you don’t see elsewhere. Great variety and I love how the stamps are organized by categories/​holidays. This location is large and plentiful in scrapbooking stuff. However, they have a VERY small selection of embossing powders. Boo!
Staff is pretty friendly and helpful on the sales floor. Waiting in line usually takes awhile! Call more cashiers when the lines get long please! Instead of having someone tell me more cashiers are coming how about that person be one of those cashiers. I noticed that the cashier has to enter each price and discount manually (no barcodes used). She told us that the CEO wants to stick to traditional ways (even though they enter it on a computer… lol) and that’s why the lines always take so long. Be prepared to wait and go to whichever line is open. No particular system when they open another register. Every man/​woman for themselves!
4 stars for scrapbooking and 1 for long checkout lines. Averages to 2.5 stars, but let’s go to 3 for the friendly staff.

Wow this is the worst store. The wait in line is crazy. Especially to return. Why do you have a sign that says «Refunds & Exchanges» if you are also checking ppl out. You make the return ppl wait in. Wow crazy!
Other than that they have nice stuff, but dread the wait in line. Hope you brought your coffee!

I once described this place as a love child of Michael’s and Jo-Anne’s Fabric, with some addition of Lowe’s. This place is Wal-​Mart Huge. All of them have that similar proportion and they are popping up in city after city. This one in particular is not the largest one but it is accommodating to what I need.
We were looking for letters and many props for my Goddaughter’s Baptism and sure enough we found something that we want and something we never knew we wanted because you’ll end up wandering off into other section and then finding yourself thinking, how did I stay in this place for more than 1 hour or even 2. I am not even the creative one, but I just am bound to going to this place.
As much as I am not a creative person, I am a person that likes to be decorative inside the home and this place serves that purpose as well. You can really find yourself finding a theme for a room and having items complement each other, or do pretty much anything you want to do. They also have a faux planting, garden area for interior decorating. This place has many things that this review doesn’t give the place any justice. If you are into interior decorating and arts and crafts, this is the NEW NEW place and you should GO GO.

I really love this store.
The artificial flowers are really beautiful, look real (and some even feel real) and preferable over a real bouquet because its long lasting (for me personally). Sometimes they can be on sale for 50% like other things. Just keep an eye out.
Many things can be found here for your home decorating needs. Or craft items. Even some comic memorabilia .You can probably make your own tablecloth with some of the patterns here (but the price per yard will break your wallet)
One thing though is, customers please don’t be rude. Don’t open packages or pull apart flowers and break them. It’s really rude to both the stores and other customers who want to buy the item. I really don’t want this store to close.

Fuck this place! Racist fucking manager. Kept asking employees to keep asking me if I needed any help. Not every Mexican with tattoos is here to steal. Either 1. the employees are inept and cannot relay to their boss that I did not need help.
2. I looked mentally handicapped and unable to understand when people are trying to help.
3. Was profiled?
Sorry but Ive seen this shit all to many times. When i complained they quickly gazed over at my LV with 1k in the fold with eyes wide open. But then again they prob figured I sold drugs.

if you’re doing a rustic or vintage wedding this is your place! GIRLLLLLLLL… especially if you’re looking for all of the décor for your venue/​reception. all i gotta say is the first time i walked in. i was like in heaven!!! but reality is, they have items for all types of weddings if you’re planning to do a lot of DIY.
every time i walk in here to look for something that i can use for my wedding i end up spending over an hour because they have so many deals. they have tons of great items and if you happen to purchase them when there’s a deal it’s so worth every penny!!!
they got fabric, they got fake floral pieces, they got vases, they got frames, chalkboards, burlap galore, scrapbooking materials, etc. it’s pretty much every crafty persons heaven. it’s a mixture of michaels and joann’s but better in my opinion. okay maybe i’m bias because they have so many rustic décor items that i’m in love with and joann and michaels don’t have those type of items.
the only thing i dislike about hobby lobby is there’s hardly any staff on the floor. and when there is and i’m asking them a question about an item they verbally tell me where to go (which does not include the aisle #) instead of walking me there. so it’s like a wild goose hunt trying to make out where they are telling me to go.
tips:
*same plaza as target, dsw, dollar tree, ross, marshall, walmart, etc.
*takes credit card and cash.
*there’s always some type of coupon just like michaels. you can print it or show it on your phone for the discount. only one item will be discounted.
*can’t use the coupon discount on top of a sale item.
*everything is priced already.
*discount is taken off at the register.

I am vassilating between 3 and 4 stars, so I rounded up.
I am almost positive I left a review for another location of HL, so I’ll keep this one short and sweet.
Its like Jesus took Joann’s, Michael’s and Aaron brothers and rolled ‘em all together. HL has EVERYTHING including full-​service fabric department (yay!) and framing services. Every imaginable craft supply you can think of, and a really respectable amount and variety of fine artist’s supplies.
Home décor as well, and even though I was expecting extreme cheesiness, it was actually very nice. Many of the items were proudly displaying a «Made in the U.S.A.» sign and label and I really dig that.
Another reviewer noted the antiquated system (non-​system, really) of each cashier having to «check» on a list to see if an item is on sale, and then manually input the discount. I agree that is INSANE especially in a place of this size.
My cashier was clearly flustered (it was opening week after all) and I watched him like a hawk to make sure he was entering in my 50% discount, and I made sure to thoroughly check my receipt, but I can see where something might slip through the cracks. That procedure needs some serious overhauling.
Other than that, these guys are closed on Sunday, which I think is pretty nice for employees.
I am glad we have one close by for the odd craft project, great alternative to Michael’s and JoAnn’s, which are getting more annoying by the day.
