Had been told this place was pretty solid a few months ago, but hadn’t been till today, it saved my life for a very late brunch before an event at the nearby Looney Tunes Records, had to just jet down here off the S. State and eat and get my requisite Saturday coffee or three, before the event, so MVP Diner was first choice considering it’s a four minute walk over from the record shop. Anyway, I thought this diner was fine, plenty of seating, service reasonably attentive, food was solid, prices reasonable. The other choices nearby are limited: Panera Bread is ok, though usually a bit expensive and slow, a pizza place that I dunno how good that is, a 7 – 11, and that’s about it. There was an IHOP down the road, but no thanks, too crowded, busy, annoying, and heavy. MVP was better than I thought it might be, it’s close by, open pretty late, really like an old-school diner/luncheonette type place from yesteryear, seemed a pretty friendly and welcoming place to me. The service here wasn’t lightning fast, but then again, my order came out well and I’d rather have good food at less of a breakneck pace than«bad diner» swill at a fast one! I’d go again, for sure, and recommend it. I’ve been to much worse diners by far on LI the past 10 years or under, and some that used to be stellar, so go figure. MVP rated well enough compared to any of those, including the Lindencrest, which I don’t like at all now, and would never go to, after a food scare incident there earlier this year.

Idk what happen to this place we used to go here at least once a week. Today mvp you lost a family The service was not as friendly as were used to in the past. Our usual waiter billy wasn’t there. I had to ask the waiter for a refill on my drink. My daughter didn’t like her hot dog which had a funny smell. The matza ball soup was bland. The Reuben sandwich was open faced. It a sandwich and looks like everything was thrown at the plate. And here is why we won’t be coming back. My fried chicken basket which had a funny smell had blood all over the bottom of the basket. No blood on the chicken which leads me to believe someone in the back cut themselves ten touched my food and bled all over the bottom. Sorry MVP. You had a good run. But no more. Be careful people.

Visit Date: January 17, 2015 I didn’t really like this place but maybe it’s what I decided to order because everyone else seems to be fairly impressed with this diner. I decided to walk in and try it out on Saturday night. Hubby was too full to eat any dinner after luckily gorging on Don Juan’s in Long Beach. I was going to get a slice of pizza from Alitalia but my opportunity was around for me to try the diner so I decided to do it. The service was good, I was seated quickly, and served quickly so I have no complaints about the service. I actually felt very bad because I had hardly any cash on me and they had a sign that tips were not allowed to be added to a credit card bill. So when I used my debit card to pay I felt like a douche because all I had was a little over a dollar in quarters to tip my server and I like to leave nice tips even if I didn’t enjoy the food. So my food is why the place gets two stars. I just didn’t enjoy it or like it. My coffee tasted like water so I didn’t even want to drink it. My seasoned fries had a decent crispiness to them but were not seasoned at all. The best part of the fries was the melted mozzarella on top of them. So based on my coffee & fries, I wouldn’t recommend this diner but maybe the other reviewers ordered better food options and it’s just me.

Pretty decident local place in a very odd location. A local took me here or I wouldn’t have ever found it myself. The food and service was excellent. The price was average. However I wasn’t a fan of the coffee it was a bit watery. for my taste.

Went here for lunch in a Sunday. Small place, was busy but we were seated quickly. Ordered a greek salad. Warning the salads are huge! Picture is posted. Salad was delicious and the dressing was great too. They serve the dressing on the side which is great because I was able to take home half the salad for another day. Food was great, staff waa friendly and prices were reasonable. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area!

This place is nothing special… and I probably won’t be back. I was a little annoyed because when I asked for a large orange juice, I was given a cup around the size of a paper Dixie cup. The extra large cup wasn’t much bigger. My eggs were over done, the server was nice but didn’t refill anything, and nothing really set this place apart from any other diner i’ve been to. The only reason why I went in the first place was because ppl gave this place 5 stars. These ppl obviously don’t know what they are talking about.

In order for me return to a diner, they have to have excellent and delicious homefries! And this place does!!! Burgers were great… Definitely coming back to try more foods… Service is nice and friendly too.

I’ve been visiting this diner for quite some time. I want to kick myself in the toosh for not reviewing it sooner. The place is quiet and cozy. The staff is always on top of things. The food is fresh, made to order and tastes absolutely DIVINE. My husband, our 2 year old daughter and I are always treated like VIPs. I wish I could write all the fabulous things that come to mind to this ‘ma ‘pa diner but that would take me forever so you’ll just have to come by and experience yourself. To sum it all, I love this place!

It’s one of the smallest, most oddly located diners I’ve come across on Long Island — in a narrow strip mall storefront? — but don’t let that fool you: this place KNOWS what real diner food is supposed to taste like. I used to come here when they first opened around ’01 because I was working in the mall, and it was wonderful then, and I’ve only recently rediscovered it. Much to my delight, the quality is just as good as I recalled. They’ve got your classic diner staples, and they all taste wonderfully authentic& freshly made, which is a relief as the older reliable haunts are dying off like flies. It’s become difficult to find a diner that doesn’t half-ass their way through a ridiculously huge menu by frying up a lot of pre-processed frozen food. Those places give me agita. MVP gives me a happy belly full of good food & makes me smile. ** PS: Pizza burger lover? They make my favourite pizza burger on the Island, which is high praise. Never had a pizza burger? AY! What’s wrong whitchoo? Order one.

If you, much like myself, have spent your life searching for the perfect french fry, THEQUESTENDSHERE. I honestly don’t even know how they do it. I’m not sure i want to know! Never reveal you secret, French Fry Magician! The crunch, without being too greasy, the hearty potato taste, without being too dry… INCREDIBLE! WE’VEGOT A FRENCHFRYGENIUSONOURHANDS! Truly a credit to local cuisine. The food is good, great! Just make sure you order the french fries. Sit back, relax, and get ready to have your mind BLOWN!

I think the service is great the food is good to. I’ve been here twice since I moved to W. Babylon. It took me more than 2 years to finally try this place I kinda shy away from strip mall diner’s but you know what for breakfast and lunch I gladly continue to go here.
