Average Japanese, but since not in metropolitan city, guess the reason for 4.5 star. Ordered deluxe sushi combo«chef choice» was just standard you get from sushi boat places. 2 of each; Tuna, salmon, snapper, white Tuna, and 1 another that i can’t remember. My son ordered teppanyaki, and he doesn’t recommend it. Overall decent but note not single chef is Japanese. Service was great though

Updating my review because they deserve a 5 ! I am sitting at the restaurant as I am writing this… Enjoying the volcano salad & we love the super dragon roll and their tempura. I order white tuna sashimi whenever i go to a sushi restaurant — their fish is always really fresh and the portion is huge! They impress us time & time again.

Iwa is the best sushi spot in Wenatchee. They have great lunch specials during the week, and weekly roll specials. Don’t be afraid to try anything on the menu, I have never been disappointed.

I was looking for a good place to grab some sushi with my nephews and I turned to Unilocal to try and find it. I read many reviews for this place and overall they were all positive, so I decided to give it a try. I’m really glad I did; they have some of the best sushi I’ve tasted. I live in Southern California and I was up here just visiting, I honestly thought I would not be able to find sushi as great as the one back home but I was pleasantly surprised. Iwa was a great experience, not only was the food great but so was the service. I would recommend this place to anyone, it is a definite must go. We got the Tiger Roll and the Bubba Roll, both were excellent.

Iwa Sushi… Like many reviewers have mentioned, surprisingly good sushi in Wenatchee. They have a HUGE variety of rolls, but I always go for nigiri instead. I LOVE the cuts– very thick, and very fresh fish(especially a huge fan of their white tuna). Huge fan and love to get sushi here(rather than Sumo).

This was a great place, took our 4, 5, and 7 year old kids there. They sat us in the back. I ordered the chicken teriyaki, as I am not a sushi fan(my husband is), and it was soo good! They brought the plate out sizzling! Food and service was great, we all had a good time!

I’m from the Bay Area on a business trip. This sushi place is pretty decent for what is around here for dinner. With a coworker, I shared a Tiger Roll, Wenatchee Roll(Strawberry sauce on the side), Bukuda Roll, and 12 piece sashimi. The raw fish was pretty decent. Coworker didn’t expect much, but he was pleasantly surprised. Came out around $ 60 pre tax. The presentation is neat. Clean place.

I’ve had Sushi all over the west coast and Iwa is hands down one of the best I’ve enjoyed. The staff is always friendly, sushi is fresh and the presentation is top notch.

Food is great however, the customer service could be a little nicer and patient. I feel like Im in the city when I come here and not small town welcome like I expect while in Wenatchee. Must be a culture thing.

Small and fun place — easy to enjoy! Lunch there quite often — easy parking and walk up.

Best sushi of Wenatchee but service could use a little more focus. *Seaweed salad $ 5 fresh, crisp and delicious as expected *Edamame $ 5 would like to see a spicy version, maybe tossed in a chili oil, but this is fine *Jalapeño Yellowtail appetizer $ 7.50 could be better. The peppers were fresh and crisp but how about a chili oil to kick it up or gorgonzola to throw everyone off? It was fine but not special. *Sashimi Sampler $ 11 was good. Nice selection of appropriately sized cuts for the price. A must order. *Rainbow Roll $ 11, as expected, delicious and well sized for the price *Ichi Roll $ 12 was a good choice. Sure it’s eel but it’s cooked and most people can handle it. BIG Roll too so easy to share. *Super Dragon Roll $ 14 is shrimp tempura and again, easy for everyone to enjoy. Big ROLL and pretty too Ordered a bottle of sake and a roll that did not make it to the table. The food is solid, the best in town. The atmosphere is hip, almost upscale for Wenatchee and the service is passable. Bring a date, the family or a party to Iwa. You’ll enjoy your experience.

I could eat here every day! The food is so good! I see a lot of people that had an iffy experience but try it again! I call food in all the time for pick up and I never have to wait, it’s always ready on time. Whenever I’ve ate there is been great service. I love sushi and this place is really good. Far better that I’d expect in this valley!

Real japanese restaurants don’t charge $ 2.50 for hot tea. Calamari is below average at best. Not crispy at all, think soft tempura batter. Rolls are ok, don’t get the fried stuff, again soft batter that soaks up tons of oil.

Best sushi in town hands down. I am from Hawaii and grew up on all sorts of sushi, and in wenatchee Iwa is by far the best. Everything tastes so fresh, the waitresses are extremely nice, it is not over priced at all(in fact they have a really great lunch special 2 rolls for 8 $ or 3 for 11 $). They also run a 2 for 20 $ deal at lunch for their signature rolls. I LOVE this place. It is clean, affordable, friendly, and quick.

I know what you’re going to say — believe me, I’m way ahead of you: «Sushi? In Wenatchee?». Now, bear with me, because you’re in for more surprises. Iwa(meaning«The Cliff» which is incredibly appropriate for Wenatchee’s scenery) was most definitely a pleasant surprise when it dropped onto the Wenatchee Ave. Sure, there were sideways looks and furrowed brows upon it’s arrival as Wenatchee isn’t exactly known for it’s trendiness. However, despite that fact it did manage to snag a very modern restaurant. The atmosphere of Iwa is inviting, if not a little dark(which can be a boon on a hot Wenatchee day), and seating is relatively quick if you get in during the lunchtime hours. The ingredients used in all the rolls were exceedingly fresh, and the rolls themselves are expertly crafted! Generally speaking, the presentation will come in the theme of the roll you ordered(if you ordered a specialty roll, that is). For instance, Dragon Roll comes out looking like a traditional«Asian Dragon» — very cool touch. The legendary and coveted 5-Star rating and why it was(narrowly) missed. While the service was rather quick for a sit-down sushi joint, sadly it was lacking in warmth or genuine interest. There was a sort of «hum drum» vibe to the hostess(and this is fairly regular in the times I’ve been there). However, it wasn’t incorrigible or terribly off-putting. Just the polish that separates the truly admirable from the«so-so». In closing, if you happen upon this joint while in the Wenatchee area, saunter in for a cup of tea, bottle of extra-dry beer, or hot sake coupled with your sushi, sashimi or otherwise. You can’t go wrong picking any of the specialty rolls, assuming you fancy the ingredients.
