I’m upgrading my review(yet again) because Peet’s switched to a new bakery vendor and the pastries are significantly better and the selection much wider. Still no toasted bagels, though :-) and I’d love to see some sandwiches rather than just sweet baked goods, oatmeal, and bagels(all of which are good, I’m just looking for variety!). Also I’ve been spending a lot of time here, and the staff is always attentive and friendly. It’s a great atmosphere to work, study, or hang out. The only con(aside from the non-toasted bagels and non-sweet foods): they close at 7pm.

Love Pete’s coffee, unsurpassed, and love this little shop. I wish they had better baked goods, and some gluten free components, but that’s not usually offered in coffee shops so I can’t complain. Their coffee is wonderful because they don’t keep any beans longer than a week. So everything is incredibly fresh and that fresh roasted aroma fills the air. Love the staff who all know coffee. Love running into people I know — it’s a real local haunt, whereas I rarely recognize anyone at the Starbucks down the road. I’m wondering, based on my limited anecdotal experience, if Pete’s attracts a more intellectual crowd, and I guess I like that. Anyway, love the atmosphere, the aroma, and the coffee at this place.

I went to Peet’s for my first time today. The caffè latte tasted great and the staff was helpful. However a group of about six people walked in and went to the corner of the store where they sat down and were very loud. They screamed, yelled, clapped, laughed, and generally acted as though they were quite inebriated. I could not enjoy my latte so I left. I hope this was a one off. Perhaps the management could ask drunk people(or those who act drunk) to leave.

A coffee shop that has bagels. But they won’t slice or toast your bagel. The only options other than coffee is water and odwalla. Ohh and tea. Unique name not so unique coffee shop.

5 stars for the Peet’s Wellesley crew, Fast, efficient, friendly. As a daily commuter, this place is a lifeline. BUT, no stars for the corporate office and the baffling decision made to fire a coffee shop manager who was involved with his customers and knowledgeable. And, Pete’s customers, are you aware he was fired weeks before he was due to take paternity leave? If this had been a woman, there would have been marches in the Wellesley streets. And a lawsuit. Something really stinks here.

I’m a longtime fan of this Peets coffee since this shop opened. There are a lot of choices for buying a pound of coffee beans, or a cuppa. Peets has always been my go to for fresh coffee. I recently purchased three half-pound bags of the Ethiopian Supernatural over the course of a few weeks. Heavenly! …Recommended to me by the store manager Chris in one of our conversations based on observations of my likes. That’s great service! I’m a fan of this store, and the staff is excellent. I’m unsure about a decision to dismiss Chris as the manager at that store. I feel it’s unfair. I’m sure he’s having a rough go of it after this sudden decision. He and his wife are soon to be parents. I’m not pleased with this decision to dismiss Chris. I feel strongly about switching brands.

A friendly, welcoming coffee shop that truly specializes in coffee. If you have a favorite drink, many employees will remember it and your name, too! My only critique is that the place needs more seating, especially on weekends. Also, while I can’t recall ever having a bad coffee, turnover can be high, and rookie baristas are not as good with the machine as those who’ve been there a while.

I have lived in this town for over 13 years and when I am in town I almost always go to Peet’s on Central street(in Wellesley, MA) for my cup of coffee. Coffee is great and the staff extremely friendly, professional and helpful. I was shocked today to learn that the wonderful manager, Chris, was let go by the company. I have to admit this place just took a down hill turn, in my opinion. I talked to a few friends who go there regularly and they were equally baffled by and unhappy about this managerial decision. I would really hate to switch loyalties but I am seriously shocked by this decision.

While I do love their coffee and tea, the last time I stopped in I was treated pretty poorly — almost looked down upon by one of the employees that worked there. I most likely will not be back again.

I usually love Peet’s coffee. Their Latte is rich an smooth, sometimes too hot so I add milk sugar, cocoa and maybe cinnamon. Today I had the rude awakening that the milk in the stainless carafe was rancid, the coffee had a terrible after taste… Just confirm, it wasn’t my taste buds, I sampled the carafe milk in a separate cup without coffee and it was skunked. They did replace my coffee and remove the carafe, but now I am stuck withe a sick and sour stomach for the rest of the day… Short of throwing up the only solution is to down lots of water. Really awful experience! I will think twice about how I feel about getting another coffee from Peets!

«Do you have high chairs?» «We don’t DO high chairs» That just about summarizes the friendliness of the staff

I have always preferred Peets to Starbucks due to the quality of the beans and their service. It is a shame that there are so few of them all around(compared to SB), but that is probably why their overall quality is so much better.

Green tea macha latte amazing! My favorite coffee chain — rich, perfectly roasted, not over roasted, super care and quality.

Came here for the first time today and will be coming back! I got a café au lait with a maple shot. It was delicious! Also got a blueberry muffin. Only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars is because they weren’t able to toast anything. The staff was very friendly and the place is clean and comfy. Great spot!

You can expect a quite crowd on weekday mornings, but you can also expect friendly servers and an array of baked goods. The coffee isn’t as strong as its across-the-street-competitor Starbucks… but the coffee and tea lattes are perfectly sweet and foamy. I was impressed with the selection of scones and breakfast treats, and found them surprisingly better than Starbucks(home of the instant-oats and tiny bagels). On mornings too rushed for breakfast, Peet’s is a better alternative.

Loose leaf tea. :) I liked it a lot better than Panache, it was more spacious and less awkward, except for the fact there was no music and it was really warm in there. They have a lot of retail, the tea looked gorgeous but out of my price range.

The seats at Peet’s are best if you don’t sit at the stools: they’re way too high. The bench outside is uncomfortable in the rain; the roof drains and drips right onto it. They close earlier than I’d like, but what they’ve got is good. I go in for(hot, bag) tea at least once a week. I prefer their tea to their lattes. And I am a tad lax with my beloved lattes. You have to request a code slip from the clerk if you want to use their free wifi, and you can only use it for an hour. I find that this Peet’s is an adequate place to drink a hot beverage and get a little work done. I’ve never bought any of their extras(biscotti, mugs, etc) but they seem popular from where I sit, which is neither on their bench or stools. Be careful when you walk across the Peet’s sidewalk and parking lot; because of the way the motor vehicle egress is set up, oblivious Wesleyites are very likely to just barely miss you with their cars.

I came here last spring when I was visiting a friend at Wellesley. Since the dining halls were closed, we had to go out for breakfast and I was a little bummed that there were few coffee shops close to campus. Coming from Tucson, I am used to seeing coffee places everywhere: not just a Starbucks on every corner, but also competing, local coffee shops on the same corner and often several adjacent to each other. I was pleasantly surprised by Peet’s and their wide variety of coffee and teas. While I ordered a latte, my friend ordered some tea. I recall both being very good and really gave a kick to my day. Having traveled a lot that week and preparing to set out on an adventure in Boston, Peet’s was exactly what I needed. After drinking only a third of my latte, I was already pretty wired while sitting on the train for Boston. I am no where near being a coffee connoisseur and only began to really hit the caffeine pretty hard this year(junior year of college, oh my!,) and I was excited to see Peet’s Coffee grounds being sold at the grocery store. Needless to say, I love waking up to a cup of medium roast Café Solano every morning before going to lab.
