It is always a pleasure to eat at Glassy Junction. Indian food for both vegetarians and meat lovers. Tasty food. Great drinks. Their King Fisher beer. Chai, mango lassis… delicious choice of dishes with Indian spices… The atmosphere is pleasant and colorful, kind if casual. I always look forward to finding a new dish and explore new flavors… love it. Prices good too… this is flavor town.

I eat a lot of Indian food and I live in a town full of expatriated Indians. For the most part, I think I’ve come to know what this fare is supposed to taste like. I can’t imagine poor renditions of this cuisine surviving long in my neck of the woods. Now, I’m not an expert of course but I will go out on a limb and say that Glassy Junction Indian Restaurant is doing it right. This isn’t good Indian food just because they’re the only game in town, this is good Indian food when compared to the twenty or so Indian restaurants that I’ve been to in the states. It isn’t amazing, but I wouldn’t hesitate at all to eat here again. Also if you like spicy food then don’t hesitate or order it spicy, these guys don’t hold back just because they think you may not be able handle it which is problem I’ve seen elsewhere. The only complaint I have is that the portions are a bit too small. The garlic naan for example only comes with one piece of naan. This is ridiculous but not unheard of at other establishments. Then again the rice is included with the entrees which isn’t always the norm and was definitely appreciated. Also the chicken tikka masala was not substantial in size and unless we had ordered three other dishes, it wouldn’t have lasted very long. I suggest that they be more generous with the naan and maybe up the size of the main dishes just a smidgen. My only other concern is that the price point may be too high for many locals, which is a shame, but seeing as they’re located right off the Interstate they should get enough traffic to do well. Just keep doing what you’re doing, the food is great and I’ll be back.

The best thing I can say about the restaurant is that they were open on Christmas night. In retrospect I wish they were closed so we didnt have to experience this nightmare. Our food was overly salty, they messed up the order, failed to bring us water after 4 requests and originally offered to not charge us for one of the salty dishes, but in the end they charged us $ 5.99 for it. The pizza, mango Lassi n Chai tea was good

This is the worst restaurant we’ve ever been too. We ordered 3 orders of Tandoori Chicken and they took 40minutes to just burn them. Which they did a very good job at.

Ordered chicken biryani, channa bhaturrey and gulab jamun for dessert. The chicken was undercooked and the biryani was not authentic(had veggies!) The channa was undercooked as well and bland. The gulab jamun had chunks of sugar in it. The only thing good about it was that it was open during Christmas. Wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for authentic Indian food. PS: The restaurant was freezing!

(1) First off both the indian restaurant and silva’s bbq are the same place. Do not think silva’s is some authentic American diner– it’s not! (2) Next, either we just had a bad experience or the 4+ star rating of this place is suspicious to say the least. The place is advertised as a Indian restaurant /sports bar. We came in over a long weekend for evening drinks and dinner. Only beer and wine available — no cocktails or any other drinks. Also the ambience is of a normal restaurant and nothing ‘sporty’ about it. (3) The food– we ordered tandoori chicken and some tandoori rotis(to go). The chicken was burnt black! We started to eat but after a couple of bites we just put it aside. The rotis were half cooked normal chappatis and not tandoori rotis! I’m never coming back to this place again and would not recommend anyone to either.

Really, really good! Skip everyplace else in town and come here. We had tandoori chicken and curry chicken. Man was it good. The atmosphere is very cute. The prices are very reasonable. We’ll be back.

We had Veggi Korma, Chana Masala, and CHicken Biryani. They were all excellent and the price is very reasonable. We will definitely eat here again.

Excellent and authentic. My brave husband Ordered the Mahi Mahi, and it was surprisingly good. The Saag Paneer was really fresh and lightly creamy. Very consistent with quality ingredients with each visit So much better than the Mt Shasta India restaurant.

First off, the food here is excellent. I’ve had Indian food many, many times in a variety of geographic locations(including Tokyo) and theirs is definitely at the top of the list. It’s freshly prepared from scratch(so, yes, you have to be patient while they cook it) and has flavor depth and complexity. It is not too hot, nor too bland, and the textures are just right. We had the samosa choley and the chickpeas were perfect spiced and cooked — neither mushy nor hard. The samosas had a flaky, somewhat thick, but easy to bite into crust with a mashed potato interior that seemed to be seasoned with fennel. The sauces were great as well. We also had the tandoori chicken, chicken masala, and garlic naan. The naan was crispy and soft in all of the right ways and flavorful without being a garlic blast. The rice was very fragrant and perfectly cooked. None of the food was too greasy. The tandoori chicken was very well-barbecued. You are not going to find better Indian food than at Glassy Junction. My husband and I went there at lunch time and, yes, it is hard to find because Glassy Junction shares a space with Silvas Barbecue restaurant. I think walking in, you can actually choose food from either place or you will be redirected through any door at Silvas to the portion with Indian food. Don’t be intimidated by the lack of signs. You’re in the right place. There was no music when we were there and I was happy about that as we prefer to talk to each other and so often music can be oppressive. Service was subdued, but polite and sufficiently attentive. The food was served at a pace with the appetizer arriving first, followed by steaming hot tandoori chicken, and then the curry, rice, and naan. By common American standards, the portion sizes are modest(though very, very far from«small»), but we still had enough leftovers from what we ordered for another meal at home. If you’re looking for quality over quantity, this is definitely the place to go for Indian food.

Great food fast service. We had curry chicken and rice. Chicken was very tender and the sauce is very tasty. Medium spicy may be very spicy if you’re not a fan of spicy food. I recommend order it with mild spicy.

The ambiance was a bit suspect but we’ve had great experiences eating at «hole in the wall» places so kept an open mind. Menu options were limited which is fine. «Do a few things and do them well» is not a bad restaurant motto. There were several flies in the restaurant – a red flag in my book. Then, as we waited for our food, my daughter glanced past our booth to find a string of sticky fly paper with an abundant supply of the dirty creatures hanging two feet away from us. That’s when we took our food«to go» so we could throw it out. Beware.

This place is the bomb! Everything was made from scratch, so there’s a little bit of wait but OMGSO worth it!!! The Naan is amazing! We had sweet lassi and Mango lassi both incredible!!! The chicken tandoori was great, the rice delicious! I wish we had a place closer to where we live that was this good. The place is hard to find, is next to a BBQ place. If you can don’t miss it!!! You won’t regret it

The fact that this restaurant is co-located with Silva’s BBQ and didn’t seem to have any signage of its own doesn’t instill much confidence, but their Indian food rivals those that we frequent in the San Jose area. We ordered chicken masala(two portions, medium and hot), vegi korma, and another vegetable dish with cauliflower, and we very pleased. We visit Weed often, and it is comforting to know that a quality Indian restaurant is now here.

Where to begin… first let me start of by saying the place has bad signage. Second, the hostess is not gracious or welcoming. Once seated it took the hostess 15 minutes to bring us menus then another 10 minutes to bring us water — let me mention that there weren’t many patrons so the time it took to get service was ridiculous. The food lacked flavor; the only good thing is the mango lassi. If you’re a glutton for punishment order dessert — I had to send mine back because it was so disgusting and when I did the owner was rude! I will not be returning.

The food was good but the service was terrible. Went at lunch time and they were not ready. Half the menu items were not available. Made us wait for atleast an hour for our food. At one time none of the customers had any food on their tables. Few of them left shouting too.

Hubby and I are moving to Seattle and are staying at the hotel next door and decided to come to this place(found it on Unilocal) and it is walking distance from the hotel. It is attached to the bbq place. We are Indian and are very picky with our Indian food and the food here is amazing!!! Just got done eating. Place is clean and seems to be renovated with nice décor, Indian music playing, and the service was good! The food was also fresh and spiced perfectly! I would definitely recommend this place to locals and anyone passing through. An unexpected good find! Best Indian food we have had in California!

Best Indian food in the north state.(North or Sacramento) The staff was Amazing, friendly and informative. I forgot the woman’s name, but she was such a nice lady. The young man worker was the owners son, and he gave me a sample of chicken Marsala to sample before I orders. Ended up ordering chicken Marsala(masala?) the owner of this new edition to what used to be BBQ only also owns the 97 mini mart. Very good man. I live in mOUNtsHASTa and will be coming up here to have lunch/dinner once a month at least. Keep it up! And for all you travelers, c curious about what to eat in weed? Try glassy junction, it’s literally the best of both worlds…

Found this little gem on Unilocal, while planning a trip to Weed to visit my son. This place is awesome! Nice relaxed atmosphere, friendly courteous service. The server was very helpful in helping us to order. He recommended a good Indian beer to go with the meal. My son and his girlfriend requested the left over sauces from the dishes to be packed up so they could eat them over rice for dinner tomorrow. Hard to find, but worth the search. They are in the same building as Silvas BBQ. The funny thing is that they asked us when we walked in if we were looking for the BBQ place. Do yourself a favor and make the stop if your traveling through Weed,

Outstanding!!! The family is very kind, and you can tell they really care about their food. Every bite was perfect! We got the samosa choley, saag paneer, aloo ghobi, and rice. The rice alone had me sold– so fresh, moist, and aromatic! Spice level was perfect, flavors were bold but not over-bearing, consistency was spot on. It tasted like a home made meal. Location is odd, but hey, who cares? Only open 2 months so far and they win. Eat here!
