Affordable and tasty chicken, our family loves the green sauce. Rice was just ok but the plantains were pretty good. This our go to takeout chicken place.

We came here because of the reviews and tried the lomo saltado and it was not good; the meat was hard to eat and it was a little greasy too. The place is big and clean. The customer service could be a little friendlier. We also a pupusa and that one was good.

It wasn’t bad. Service was good and place is very clean. My expectation for the food was higher than what I got. If you are in the area worth giving a try.

Don’t be fooled by what you see outside… the resturant is clean, service is friendly, attentive, and quick… and the food is homestyle traditional Peruvian deliciousness! Sooooo good!

I say yes to the deliciousness King Chicken provides!!! I checked this place out on Unilocal before visiting. I wanted to find an establishment offering delicious Peruvian roast chicken and they did not disappoint! I ended up ordering the whole chicken special that came with two large sides. That’s two pieces of dark meat(2 thigh and leg) and two pieces white(2 breast w/wing attached). For the sides I chose plaintains for both… I was feeding my Caribbean entourage and we love plaintains! The chicken is moist, superbly seasoned, with crisp skin. Maybe some of the best Peruvian chicken I have ever had! The plaintains were cut a little thick but they were appropriately ripe and sweet and fried to perfection! I’ll be frequenting this place often! Good stuff comes out of their kitchen!!!

The pupusas and chile relleno were great! But I was not a fan of the rice, so I’m docking a star for that.

Really delicious food. I’d known their pupusas were good, but today I tried the chicken they were famous for and understood why my friends raved about it. My family enjoyed it so much we ordered a whole chicken to go for dinner tonight. They serve their dishes with a host of hot sauces and an aji chile mayo, all made in house and all fantastic. Our waiter was very nice and gave us information on many of the items we had not heard of. I’d recommend the chicken, bean and cheese and mushroom and cheese pupusas. Definitely a must-try place!

I’ll preface this review by saying that this place has some d**m good chicken. As a person that doesn’t clean up a piece of chicken I ate this chicken down to the bone! It was very moist and flavorful. I love cumin and that cumin was popping! However, there’s not much else that really stands out about this place. First of all, I’m not sure if this is a true Peruvian cuisine spot because this menu is ALLOVERTHEPLACE! I looked at the menu and was like hmm, should I get a Bbq baked potato, a Texas burger or should I try out this chicken. Ultimately, I did end up ordering the chicken since it’s pretty much their feature item along with charro beans and steamed broccoli. As stated earlier, the chicken was a hit! The broccoli was broccoli and unfortunately, the charro beans were well seasoned but they were really thin and not to my liking. Service was also slightly slow. There were only two other patrons in the place and they were already eating so I’m not really sure what happened on the efficiency. I’m still undecided on if I will return or just hit up a Pollo Tropical when I’m in the mood for chargrilled chicken.

I have to say, this little place is pretty solid if you are looking for authentic Peruvian food. At first, I was a little skeptical. When we walked in, it had just opened for lunch. Even as we sat, there were not many people who decided to come in. Typically, this is not a very good sign. The place itself is a little run down and is in a shady strip mall. There are LOTS of Mexicans loitering in the parking lot. I’m not sure why, but that definitely did not make us feel good or safe. Upon entering, it definitely has that hole in the wall feeling. Not the cleanest place either. The ladies who work there are not very enthusiastic for sure. Food wise, I can’t say enough about the chicken. It is tender, moist, and tasty! We had the Peruvian roasted chicken and the chicken burrito. If I ever go back, I would definitely get the burrito again. It was one of the best I’ve ever had. The Peruvian chicken was not bad either, but I think for the money the burrito was the way to go. Back in the parking lot we made it to the car while one of the Mexicans was yelling something at us and we got the hell out of there. I would give the food four stars for sure, bordering five stars for Peruvian. I have given the whole review three stars for several reasons: 1) we did not feel safe within the property 2) the staff was unenthusiastic and lacked attention to service 3) the overall appearance of the restaurant. Not a bad place to go but make sure you have your concealed carry with you.

I haven’t been able to figure out why this place gets so many good reviews. Last time we got a special neither of us liked. Since we didn’t get their feature item, chicken, we returned tonight to give them another try. I was a little more satisfied but my wife didn’t care for any of the meal. We got their feature chicken and fried rice and charo beans. I found the chicken okay but not special I considered the fried rice the best, but my wife felt it had an odd taste and wouldn’t eat it. She ate some of the chicken but wasn’t happy with it. Since I was a little happier this time I thought of giving 3 stars, but then I when I thought about the fact that I didn’t plan to come back, I decided it couldn’t be more than a 2. ___ We’ve Eaten Out Every Meal for more than 25 years

For being a Peruvian restaurant the menu does not have a lot of actual Peruvian items. My husband had the lomo saltado and was actually quite disappointed with it. He is Peruvian and we’ve tried lomo saltado at many restaurants and he was just not impressed. I had some chicken and it was tasty, and my daughter had a papusa which was also good, but its hard to go wrong with papusas. All in all though the menu is a variety of Mexican, central America, south America, and north American items. its like they didn’t know quite what they wanted to sell. i’ll prob go back for a quick papusa and some chicken, but I doubt we’ll go back as a family.

I was searching for great food in the area and found this place on the internet. The reviews and photos really made it sound like a place I wanted to try. I’ve never previously had Peruvian rotisserie chicken, and now I feel like I have been missing out. I was really impressed with King Chicken. The chicken was full of flavor and seasoned very well. It was also very moist! I ordered the half chicken plate and got fried yuca and Spanish rice for my sides. I was very pleased with the whole meal and look forward to trying the plantains in the future. Come check out King Chicken, you will be glad you gave it a try.

Came in for a quick meal by myself. Place is nice and clean as always. Ordered a few items. Lomo Saltado — marinated beef with tomatoes and onions over French fries. Pretty good, especially when you mix in a little of the green aji sauce. Papusa mixto — top notch, with great salsa and cabbage served with it. Maduros(sweet plantains) — fantastic, some of the best I have had in a while. Good arrived quick and tasted very fresh and my ice tea stayed full. Will definitely be back again.

Seriously??? This is not a Peruvian restaurant nor is Peruvian food, I tried the fried yuca and Chicarron and my girlfriend had the chicken, needless to say it was really bad! I will not be going back.

The ONLY Negative thing I can say about this place is the décor. The tables and chairs are basic and there isn’t much in the restaurant that makes you feel invited to eat. THATBEINGSAID… It took me about 10 minutes to come up with that ONE negative to King Chicken. The food was incredible from start to finish. I ordered the half chicken with rice and black beans. The chicken was seasoned perfectly with intense flavor and was just as moist and succulent as something you would eat at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant. The rice was fluffy and well cooked and the black beans were as you would get them anywhere else. I also ordered a Meat and Chicken Papusa. It came with a local Peruvian slaw and salsa sauce which added the flavor and crunch to the dish that really set it over the top. Even if you aren’t hungry you HAVE to order one. When I was asked by the lady working if I enjoyed the food, I felt great telling her that it was incredible and the genuine smile she gave me when she heard my response showed how much pride she took in the food she was serving. Cheers King Chicken, You have earned the title of KING, and I can say I WILL be back.

Not a bad place for Peruvian eats. My mom and I dropped in for lunch while visiting my abuelita; Mom was completely new this kind of fare, so I took the liberty of ordering. It was the lomo saltado for me, the chicharrones special for Mom, and half a grilled chicken for the tias back kickin’ it with grandma. The highlight of the meal was the lomo saltado — specifically the tomatoey sauce that paired well with the rice… and the tortillas! These were housemade, thick and buttery, any thicker and you’d have to stuff ‘em and call them ‘gorditas.‘ The yucca fries were a complete miss — hard, dry. Service was slow considering the place was empty; and I can only assume it was empty on a Friday because of Lent.(The main seafood item is ceviche and that’s only offered on weekends.) I’d def go back for plantains, tortillas and check out the ceviche.

This is not a fancy restaurant. It appears to be a family run operation serving up some good chicken. I walked in, but I was unclear on the ordering process. I didn’t see a host or a hostess stand so I just walked up to the counter and picked up a menu. I knew I was going to order the chicken based off Unilocal reviews. I also ordered the plantains and black beans. While the sides were not exciting, the chicken was pretty awesome and tasty. It was so moist and flavorful. The food was on the cheaper side in my opinion and I didn’t feel guilty for eating as my chicken was roasted and not fried. I will definitely return to order a whole chicken for dinner when the bf asks for a home cooked meal. I take shortcuts when convenient… don’t judge me!

I normally don’t venture out to this side of town, but I needed to take my car in for maintenance, I am glad that my mechanic’s location allows me to spread my belly wings to new areas. The venue is located in a strip mall, nothing fancy about it. I thought it was going to be more of a soul type of place but it turns out it has a Hispanic influence instead. There were so many good reviews on Unilocal that I wanted to try it all. Upon arrival I decided to just try the chicken that everyone loved so much, but as soon as I walked in a seen some people having fish that looked and smelled amazing. It was the full fish sizzling on a bed of caramelized onions and green peppers. So of course my order changed… it didn’t switch, but actually grew. I still got the chicken but then I added the fish and fried yucca and the pupusa. Love me some pupusa. Didn’t eat all in one sitting, chicken is for dinner tonight :). Man, let me tell you when I got home I was so hungry I didn’t even bother with the cabbage and sauces for the pupusa I just dug right in and tell you the truth, this was the first time that I didn’t really need all the extras for this pupusa, it was delicious just the way it was made. I don’t know what type of meat or cheese that was in it, but I tore it UP. Thought to myself I should have ordered more. The fried yucca was good, though to me it just tastes like a denser carb version of a French fry, so I did to it the same I do to a French fry… dipped it in ketchup. At first I was a bit intimidated by the fish… I was looking at it going how do you actually eat this… don’t eat a lot of fish that hasn’t been filleted. I know the first few bites I was thinking to myself that I am going to end up choking on these thin slithery fish bones. but after time I don’t know how, but I was able to dissect the fish properly and avoid tragedy. The flavor on the fish was amazing, I kind of want to have it again today.

I got the quarter chicken and fried plantains and fried yuca. I’m not even sure what this chicken would be classified as but omg BOMB! The fried yuca Is phenomenal and the fried plantains are ok, I think they are just not my thing. The staff was nice and gave me polite smiles. Everything looks good through the pictures posted. Def going back The prices have increased since the menu posted in the first pic, but not too much.
