I travel the highway through Weaverville pretty regularly. I lived in this community a few years ago, when the new owners took over. This is the only market in Trinity County where I appreciate what I get for my dollar. They carry a great, well-rounded selection of product, at prices that are competitive in surrounding cities.(Cheaper than Co-op Humboldt, but doesn’t have Reddings mega-chain presence of Trader Joe’s). Being a farm-centered community, it is super great to have a spot that I can pick up local organic fare year round. Whoever does the ordering/purchasing has the touch, because in dozens of trips, I’ve never gotten a spoiled berry, melon, or squash. They opened up a deli counter! Just experienced this! Now to-go food while on the road that incorporates my normal diet… Woooo! Make this a stop folks. You’ll be glad you did.

Yep, The Mountain Marketplace is Trinity County’s source for organic/healthy living. You can also order from the co-op catalog and get just about anything at a discounted bulk price.

Big selection of lots of health and/or organic foods, even a refrigerated section. They also have some items in bulk, such as honey. Nothing too extrordinary as far as health foods go, but definately out of the ordinary for such an out of the way small town area.
