Del-Ray’s Consignment & Resale Shop

Yeah, yeah– sometimes I am too hasty about reveiwing businesses… I am updating this review because I have been in this store a few more times. I was thinking of consigning with them, and I wanted to see how fast items were selling. The results were mixed– in kids’ and adult clothing I saw new items, but I also saw winterwear still hanging around, and not at a reduced price. I noticed that the «must-​go» rack was jam-​packed, that there was «Wal-​Mart» brand clothing present, that some items being offered up were worn looking (faded, pilling, etc…), and that some any-​season items I had seen mid-​winter were still present.
On top of that, what I have really noticed is that the owners are not friendly! Only the dark-​haired woman is, and that is if she is still around. Anyway, the owners never greet you, not even when the store is dead quiet. When the female owner does talk to you, she is preoccupied with her own ruminations; I have seen her chattin’ it up with another woman she knew at the register (who had her own version of rudeness as well– my advice to her is not to shop right after surgery with exaggerated body language, and to be polite when fellow humans show concern), so you do the math. The male owner seemed annoyed to answer an older gentleman’s question. Methinks that I do not want to support a business that could care less about its customers.
