These gals have an attitude issue. First off, I just wanted to buy a specific tea. I declined the invite to try teas as I walked into the store and the girl was upset and kept trying to get me to sample some. As I pushed ahead to get to the counter she ran past me to stop and ask if I needed help with anything and I said no, that I just wanted to buy tea. She asked what I was looking for, I told her and she still proceeded to try and sell it to me. I knew what I wanted by name, you don’t have to sell me on something I already want. Then she asked if I wanted a bag, which at the time I thought was a silly question. Was I going to carry it out in my pockets?(On my way home I remembered that they try to sell you on tins here). She kept asking if I wanted other teas even after I specifically told her I just wanted the one. I know she thought she was just doing her job, but I am not a traditional shopper. I shop with purpose — go to specific shops for specific items and get on my way. I have an agenda! When I have to tell the same person more than once that I just want one thing, it’s annoying, and makes me hate you at that moment. I’m sorry. But listen to your customers, learn to read them. The teas are generally good here though. The prices are higher than other shops I go to, but they’re not completely unreasonable.

$ 5.82 for a 12oz tea to go is a lot. I’ve been coming here for years and the new prices are not so pleasant. The store is small and always packed you will feel like a bull in a china shop literally. With all the glass items the store should be a little more spacious. I was never greeted I had to approach a worker and beg or what felt like begging them to take my order.

Not going back into this store until the manager retrains the employees. Listen, if someone walks in and orders a specific amount of a certain tea that is not common. I’d air my sack out into the winds of assumption and say they know what the hell they want and you should just give it to them. Talking to people like they are dumb asses is a pretty quick way to loose customers. Edit… whats really awesome is when you find a bird feather in your tea. Mmmm That’s some tasty Avian flu. Not going back to this company… Ever!

I stopped in after being lured by a sample. The lady that was helping me was fairly new and was trying and was actually providing good service so I decided to buy something. Of course they train HARD on the upsell, which is fine, I know how to say NO. But soon, a more experienced worker came and totally ruined the experience. I didn’t need a pound of tea or sugar, yet she continued to push me buying more and buying the containers. Once she saw I wouldn’t budge and only wanted the 2 ounces of a few types of teas she became rude and very short with me. I’m the type of shopper who buys a little at first than comes back and buys a lot. This experience costs them a potentially loyal customer. I’ll stick with ordering my tea online from small independent shops.

Let us start off by saying that I may look like a meathead, but I actually drink more tea in the course of a year than I drink beer and water combined. Hot tea in the winter, iced tea in the summer. It’s been that way for years. On this particular day we found ourselves running around trying to make appointments and such, and I worked up quite the thirst. We happened to pass Teavana, and while they are not my regular shop I really wanted an iced tea so I decided to give them a go. Biggest waste of $ 3.80 ever. I walk up to the sample machine out front, and even though I walked up first the lady worker decided to give the middle-aged woman and her daughter who walked up a minute after me the grand tour and sales pitch. I’m in the market for a new smaller teapot, and after buying a cup of tea and spending considerable time looking at the pots with my wife, that one worker was still trying to sell tin canisters to the same lady, and the other workers didn’t bother. Way to lose a potential sale. As far as the tea goes, I didn’t like anything in the tasters so I asked the woman behind the counter if she could recommend a tea that would taste good iced. She pulled out about five big cans, and they all smelled the same, just like flowers. I thought I just had that smell stuck up in my nose, so I went with a tea flavor I was sure to like– Dragonfruit. She asked me about three more times if I wanted it iced, even though I asked for a iced tea to begin with. I started to sip on my tea, and it tasted like flowers… sigh. Probably the worst cup of tea I have ever had, I was thirsty and threw it away. Every tea in here either tastes like someone used a car air freshener for a tea bag or they poured hot water into my Mom’s sock drawer and wrung out the bag of potpourri into a cup. Terrible. Top 2 Warning Signs the Tea Isn’t as Good as You Think– 1. Almost every sample has sugar added to it. While I’m not opposed to adding sugar to tea, a tea should taste good on its own. The fact that they need to add sugar to every tea proves that this tea cannot stand alone. 2. They rather sell you tea paraphernalia then the actual tea itself. Pots, cups, the lady even went into a 3 minute spiel on the benefits of a tin canister for your teas, and I didn’t see her even recommend any flavors of tea whatsoever. I personally don’t see the need or even the logic in some of the stuff I overheard this salesperson saying, but I feel this store just wants to unload their junk instead of promote their tea. Bottom line– If you put the word«Tea» in your name, take pride in your product and start serving decent teas. Otherwise, call this place what it really is–«Teapotvana».

You may ask, what does Teavana do or have that makes them far superior to other tea places, what’s the trick? It’s goes something like this. Teavana lure you in with these samples of sometimes fruity, other times rich and dark and once you try one they have you hooked! Whomever is working in their marketing department must be the smartest person out there. Once they lure you in, you realize it’s not just one tea. oh no… they have a wall of teas in color coded cans. You can select one tea or ask for suggestions of what teas blend well. The employees are extremely helpful at describing the teas and all of their properties and even urge you to smell the teas to help you get a better idea. You can personalize any tea for yourself or make tea a unique gift for someone else. They have cups, kettles, strainers and everything else under the sun to make your tea drinking experience optimal. Even if you’re reading this saying«I’m a non-tea drinker», I urge you to go in, even if just for a sample. This tea is life changing. Teavana, how I love you although my wallet does not agree.

I went here recently to get some tea as a gift for my Mom since she is a Tea Connoisseur. She had a particular tea that she had tried recently(yes they have samples of tea that you can try) & one of the ladies there had written it down since it was blend of a couple teas together. I to had a sample of it(White Ayurvedic Chai & Samurai Chai Mate) & even I liked it & I am not a big tea lover. This place just doesn’t have teas they have anything else Tea related(pots, cups, sugar, canisters etc) & prices can be moderate to expensive. Also the staff is friendly & very knowledgable when it comes to tea.

TEAISTHEMOSTPOPULARBEVERAGEINTHEWORLD, NEXTTOWATER. Teavana does a great job of packaging and marketing a beverage that’s been around for over 5,000 years. From the samples to the color coded canisters, website and even smart phone application, they’ve got a well crafted identity. ME: «We have some Jasmine Pearls from Outpost at home.» HER: «Oh, well I just want to try a few of the samples.» FORTY-THREEDOLLARS later we left the Mayfair Mall Teavana with three different kinds of blends. The sales staff here are very good at selling the health benefits from tea, which I believe in.(Cheers!) SHOPLOCAL: Wisconsin is lucky to have a local tea company in Rishi to support. Teavana operates over 150 company-owned stores in 35 U.S. states and Mexico. Teavana has relationship with CARE International where they donate 1% of profits from teas to the tea growing regions of the world.(Source: Wikipedia)

If you really love good tea for a reasonable price look online. Teavana tea is average at best but at least it is expensive.

The product is just as amazing as ever. They have rich, full-bodied teas. Even the more delicate flavors are bold. It really depends on your personal preference. I’m a fan of the very flowery teas. My friend tends to get herbal. I’ve had some good ones and some that tasted like potpourri or a spruce. The reason I am going down a star is because all of the sweet, helpful teaologists seem to have vanished. In their places are employees who will give you what you ask for but aren’t very personable. I understand that they are probably there every day and have to answer a barrage of ridiculous questions. Well, I don’t. Just work with me here. I asked one of the girls if she could give me a business card with the name of one of the teas they had to sample. She told me it is always the same two teas. But I could hear the silent«duuuuuh» at the end of that statement. So when she asked me which one I told her, «The one that doesn’t taste like a Christmas tree.» I speak annoyed too, girl! In the end she circled the mixture for me in their brochure. But I got the feeling I was bugging her for insider tea information. My friend went to order a mixture of tea that she had purchased once before and loved. Another teaologist had prepared it before. When she told the guy the two teas she wanted he crinkled his nose and expressed his skepticism. Dude, we’re not here for your tea approval. Yes, we get that it is not a typical fusion. But there is a right way and a wrong way to discuss different tastes. Just mixy, mixy and tell us the damage.

I would agree with the other reviewers that their samples tend to be flowery sweet type teas designed to bring in customers. But at least they have samples and their staff is very friendly. They have a nice assortment of teas and tea related goods in the store located in Mayfair Mall.

I didn’t even buy anything from them and I am still giving them four stars! I went in to buy a teapot because I thought I needed one to use a new set of teacups I got for Christmas. After I described the set to the staff person she told me that I make the tea right in the cups. Saved me a lot of money and earns a lot of respect for being so helpful even though she lost a sale. I will be back because of that though. The store is very narrow so it is not the best for wheelchairs, but she was willing to bring anything I wanted to see to me.

Some teas are good, and some are nauseating. The store is usually crowded and the samples are nothing like the tea you will take home because the samples are doctored up. I like my tea plain and unsweetened. When I get a sweetened sample, it is hard to tell if I will like it or not. Smelling the tea is usually a good indicator if I will like it or not. Teas are pretty pricey. I like to shop for my teas at a great online store instead. Fresh, organic, teas at lower prices.

I have a love-hate relationship with Teavana. Yes, their tea can be good, but only when it is plain, not mixed with another type of tea and not loaded with exotic sugars and honey flavors the way that it is made when they hand out samples in the mall. When you are buying tea here, ask to smell the tea first, that should give you a good idea of if you will like it or not. This is a great place to buy tea for yourself or a present for someone. The store itself is a chain with a location in Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa. It is far too small to accomodate the people walking around browsing and the people ordering or checking out. There is no clear line for ordering or checking out so make sure to stand your ground or you will get skipped. So… yes, I do love their Almond Biscotti tea but I hate their small store and way too sweet samples.
