By the time I got there it was kinda dead in there. It’s a nice bar tho. The bartender that I felt with really didn’t have a personality wasn’t friendly at all. Only had 1 drink no food. Was jus checking out the local scene in the area being that I’m new in the area.

Excellent Bloody Mary’s, sausage stick, bacon, celery, spicy garlic clove, olive, Brussel sprout, pickle, in a large spicey rimmed glass of great juice mix. The Egg Benedict with burger was cooked and spiced perfectly. First time I have had Towne tots, suprised that they were also excellent crunchy, salt pepper, tyme, oregano and topped with parmesan cheese and a light sauce, hollandaise sauce… must order item. Great service, good taps in bar, great spirit selections

Looks like it could be a fun place. Maybe too busy today as bartenders just seemed to want to ignore customers. Common sense says just acknowledge your customers with a greeting and that I noticed you. These tenders did absolutely no eye contact. Had to reach out to both of them to get any response. Again the place looks like fun but need to see better customer appreciation.

Uhm… Bloody Mary + beer back(choice of whatever is on draft) + 2 shots of whiskey + 2 shots of tequila for a total of $ 18??? Is this real life? I genuinely liked this place. Cute, small town feel with friendly bartenders and no frills. It was noon and well, what else was there to do? A few shots of honey whiskey and Patron chili café just seemed natural… And they were only $ 3 each!

A little hard to get to the bar on busy nights, but you can tell the bartenders are trying their hardest. They always get my drinks know a timely manner, once I order. Decent selection there. It’s attached to a restaurant which is VERY handy! And they let you sample beers before you commit to a full glass. I will ALWAYS recommend their bloody Mary’s! YOUGETBACON! You can’t beat bacon…

I was told best Bloody Mary in town… F that it tasted like watered down tomato juice. The garnish was the ONLY good part about it. The service sucked too.

We came here for a couple of drinks and ended up coming back later on for the live music! Great beers on tap and fun service behind the bar. Overall, we hope to come back!

Malarkey’s is a great place, probably the most happening place in Wausau… The owners Tyler and Todd are welcoming and very fun… Tyler always has the best bands and Todd makes a great mixed drink, really great atmosphere more modern and artsy. They have quite the selection of beer on tap and if you have too much fun on a Saturday night you can show up the very next morning to have the best bloody Mary and or brunch at the attached restaurant Townies. Definitely a place to check out if your ever travelling up north…

Friendly folks, nice atmosphere, good drink selection including beer and wine, and they have open mic nights. We were staying at the Jefferson Street Inn across the street and this was a great option for a nightcap.

Decent bar, good prices, and an okay crowd. Wasn’t the most fun I’ve had ever, but for Wausau I’d say it was the most fun we were guna have at any bar there. We mainly stuck to our own group but managed to have a pretty good time.

This place is the best night spot in Wausau for anyone under 50. Trendy upscale place. Many times will have good bands on Fridays and Saturdays. Right on the 400 Block square, so a great location. We often end up here after dinner. Great place to meet up with friends. Bar offers many good beers on tap, and bartenders do a great job of mixing drinks. Needless to say, St Patrick’s Day here is off the charts!

Only been to a handful of Wisconsin bars in my life, this could be the best. Long bar area, great bottle, shelf, & on tap selection. Wisconsin prices(which still stun this New Yorker). And pretty solid live music. Just a cool vibe and enough space to spread your stuff out. I need some room to do my drinkin & conversing. I’m sure you get it. Surprising how big it is. Also dig the small main st type feel to the area.

They have Spotted Cow on tap so they already get a bump in my book… although every bar in Wisconsin get’s an extra star by that definition. Came here after a wedding and had an absolute blast. They had live music playing and graffiti in the bathroom. Perfect late night drinking establishment. It’s dirty, which is awesome.

While its hard to say based on 1 drink, Malarkey’s seems like a cool hangout. Nice selection of premium gins, scotches and Irish whiskey. Lots of craft beers on tap. Couldn’t really tell about the clientele with a concert going on in the square across the street. Only downside was my martini, ordered with a twist came with olives. I chalk that up to my bartender being deaf — no, really, she was!

Cool bar! We stopped by after dinner for a night cap & were surprised to be one of five people in the entire place. There was a band playing later on, so I imagine it got busier as the night progressed(we left around 8p). I’d like to come back later in the evening to see what it’s like with a packed house!

A great place to see some live music or just to kick back and watch the Packers. Malarkeys invests some serious cash to bring some great bands to Wausau. The beer ain’t exactly cheap but there’s rarely a cover charge to get in.

Updated review: I can’t believe no one has reviewed this place yet. I like this place better than I did a couple of years ago, mostly because the band was good and service also pretty good. You can meet some cool peeps here. and also some frat-boy like dooshbaggies. Seems to be a pretty popular nightlife spot for Wausau, which is really lacking in decent nightlife spots.
