The burger is freshly made and grilled to order. Very flavorful burger with nice crunchy fries with a soft potato inside. Probably one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. Free pool playing with 12 tables to choose from. Juke box with a wide variety of music.

Eh. It’s ok. Kinda trashy, but that’s Wauconda for you! Poor Man’s Island Lake. Left my beer in dirty glass w/$ 2 tip and went to Sideouts!

I think I broke my wrist This place is a throwback bar. They are located along side of a small mall front next to the Ace Hardware in down town Wauconda. So we decided to come here for the first time to listen to my sons girlfriends stepdad(try saying that three times) perform. As you enter the place, there are slot machines lined up along the wall on the right side. The bar is fairly large and towards the front in the middle. There are TV’s and music playing overhead. As you pass the bar and make your way to the back they have a section of couches and cushioned chairs to lounge in. They have pool tables where you can play for FREE which is a rare thing since everyone these days charges for everything. So to recap this review, you can listen to a live band and play pool for free. Before the band started, my son and I played a couple games of pool. He then wanted to try this punching bag machine where you punch the bag and it tells you how hard you hit the bag. I went first and scored 760, he went next and score 830. Not sure what that means but my wrist is still soar. While we were there we bought a bucket of domestic beers(5) for a reasonable price. The place seamed to have a bunch of regulars and that everyone knew each other. It reminded me of when I lived in the city and we had a neighborhood bar on the corner of our block. This is definitely a throwback bar and I am glad that we tried TJ’s out and I would go back again. It would be a good place to watch football games on a Sunday.

We happen to go to TJ’s because we were going to see the band Patio Daddy-O perform. There was no cover charge or drink limit. It’s a very spacious bar with a bar, lounge area, pool tables & slot machines. The band that performed there was awesome.
