still being hand-​fed when we first met & fell in love with him so he was with Mark for a couple weeks. Mark was so accomodating– I think we went and visited him almost every other day or so (fortunate enough to be local). It was priceless to be able to do that– by the time we took baby Arie home he was so comfortable with us that adjusting to his new surroundings was more like a fun game to him rather than a scary situation. I would highly recommend purchasing from feather farm– all the birds are well socialized and well taken care of– what more could you ask for?

I bought 2 Rose Breasted Cockatoos 7 years ago. Mark Fox is incredibly knowledgeable, generous, and available to his customers for questions, free clippings, reasonable boarding or general advice. Interacting with birds isn’t intuitive like it is with mammals, so people can run into a lot of behavioral problems with birds. Mark is an absolute expert in this department. He’s got VERY relevant advice. This ain’t his first rodeo. The guy knows birds.
Mark’s prices are reasonable, and the birds are healthy and well taken care of. Every time I go there for a clipping or boarding, seems like Mark is busy feeding babies. I’ve met several other customers at Mark’s house in the past and have become friends with fellow bird owners. Everyone loves Mark.
Regarding another reviewer’s comment «…they tend to over-​clip babies which can lead to injuries when they fall…» Mark clips the birds’ wings so that they don’t fly away and die (happened to me years ago with a cockatiel and was heartbreaking). It’s up to you to keep your (baby?) birds inside your cage and not too high up on a perch until the new feathers grow back enough to do that nice airplane landing safely onto the carpet. Mark clips the wings properly.
If you are considering getting a bird, I would highly recommend getting your bird at Fox’s Feather Farm. The free clippings for life alone make Fox’s Feather Farm a no brainer. But his continued commitment to 1) the health of his birds and 2) YOU throughout the bird’s life seals the deal. Mark is simply the best.

I purchased my red-​sided eclectus in 2004 while still living in Phoenix. I researched breeders in the west and found Mark Fox to be one of the best. I flew out to pick up my baby bird Sabine and was very impressed with the quality of care all of the bids received. Eventually, Sabine and I moved to the bay area. She is 8 years old and a delightful pet companion. I feel the great start Mark gave Sabine lead to her development as a well socialized parrot.
