18.33 for 4 pies, mash potatoes and 4 biscuits. no chicken. the clerk did not ring order up correctly and i told him what his mistake was and he said the ‘manager” would fix. «manager» fixed and charged me again instead of a refund/credit. I called manager today(2 days later) and told him of problem and«it happens». offered me to come for refund… why would i return??? his response«well it’s on you then».

Chicken express fries up some of the best fried chicken. The batter is not greasy but crispy and light. I always stop by when I’m in the area. If you like fried chicken livers, these are pretty phenomenal. Cooked fresh to order. Don’t have an opinion on the sides because I was pretty stuffed after the fried chicken, chicken livers, gravy, and yeast rolls(another must order item).

i went here on a break from work one day. there was a group of 5 teenagers in front of me that were being indecisive but instead of waiting they just took forever ordering. that’s fine. even though there were a lot of people working, no one seemed to have a designated task. someone would take an order, and then go to the back and do something, and then several minutes later someone else would come and take the next order. some employees were just standing around talking. it was very confusing. i was in there for over 10 minutes and not even at the front of the line so i had to leave. later i came back after work and went through the drive through this time. people were walking out of the store and taking orders. whatever. got my food and paid. it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t that great either, and i’d probably go back if i had a craving except it seems that no one is managing the employees and no one knows what to do in there.

Great place. Feels very local. but it’s a chain. Chicken is good and crispy, and side sauces are quite delicious. My dad says the livers and gizzards are great and he likes that they leave them whole. They come out to your car when you’re in the drive thru too. Overall, if you’re looking for a southern chicken place this is it. Enjoy!

I was excited to try this run-down looking place in Watkinsville. Great reviews and shabby atmosphere? It sounds like a real treasure! Then I got several pieces of dried-out, cold fried chicken, and a biscuit with the texture and taste of cardboard. Oh, and the service to get this cold food that had been sitting around was kind of slow.

The food is pretty good but the atmosphere is terrible, the service is not very good since they don’t write your order down they keep giving me wrong orders. I recommend the fried pickles they are very good.

The food here is so good and I beg my best friend to take me here when I visit him in Athens. My only suggestion is to make the menu display bigger. The print is tiny and I could barely read it from the counter.

Fantastic fried Chicken Livers and Chicken Gizzards! The best I have ever eaten. Love the whole«young guy comes out of the bldg to take your order» thing. We had to wait a few minutes, because they cook your order Fresh ! We were driving from Greensboro GA to Duluth GA on the backroads to 316. Thought we would stop at Zaxby’s, but decided to turn around and go back to try Chicken Express. Sooooo glad we did.

I live literally less than a five Minute walk away from a raising canes, but I’d rather drive to Watkinsville to go to the chicken express anytime. I went on a Friday maybe ten minutes before they closed, and the chicken was still. Hot and fresh tasting, no stale hours under lamp taste. Great sides too. Friendly and cute gals working there. Go check. It out

This is the only fast food place that deserves five stars! The meals are inexpensive and although fried, not greasy. My favorite is the chicken tenders with corn nuggets, biscuit, and side of gravy. I also like how there isn’t a speaker to talk into, but rather an employee comes out to take your order. The people that work there are very friendly. Now that I live in Watkinsville and CE is right down the road, I am sure I will be eating there a lot more now.

I think it’s obnoxious to update reviews constantly, but I’m willing to make an exception in this case. Chicken Express is indeed as good as it gets. Their chicken tenders are the best, juicy and crispy, and their fried okra is the best I’ve ever had. Their new value menu makes this delicious food even cheaper, and they offer 10% off for college students with an ID. On my most recent visit I got: 2 chicken tenders & a biscuit $ 1.49 A side of fried okra $ 1.49 Large Diet Coke $.93 With my 10% off, I ended up paying less than $ 4 for a great lunch. You won’t find me eating anywhere else in Watkinsville.
