Great homemade food. Fried pickles and cheese were very good. Cheeseburger and chicken sandwich were also good. Prices are awesome and kids are welcome.

Been there quite a few times. We have tried a lot of things on the menu. Things are priced well. Everything tasted great. Service was good to very good. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it’s a bar atmosphere. You can bring your family and don’t forget to order the beer nuggets.

Burgers were great! Home made chips, sweet potatoe fries, regular fries & white cheddar cheese were very tasty. Never knew this place existed, was talking to employee in Sandwich antique store about where to eat & a young girl spoke up. Said she lived near here & highly recommended it. Man, I wish I could thank her! We will be back!!!

I like this place, folks are always friendly there and every time the train passes you get a chance to win a free beer. Liquor is quite expensive and the wait for food is a touch long. Good burgers though. I miss the chipotle burger.

We ordered the Cajun Pickles, poppers, Texas burger and broasted chicken. Everything was great! Huge portions and it’s all fresh. The poppers made me cry they are so good. We’ll be back soon.

I went here last weekend with my parents after going apple picking. I wasn’t expecting much when we walked in but I was wrong. The food was some of the best I’ve had in a long time. I had the Italian Beef that included cheese, mild peppers & au jus on the side. The gravy on the side was really good. My Dad had the broasted chicken, he didn’t like it but he doesn’t like anything and my Mom and I really liked it. My Dad did really like the fries, we probably should have just gotten him a plate of fries. I wish this place was a lot closer to where I live. If I’m in the area again I will definitely go here.

Good food. Burgers and chicken are both worth it. Horrendous drink/shot prices though!

Monster burgers… Sunday lunch, had the Texas burger. Bacon, grilled onions, and BBQ sauce. I’m ready for a nap. Bar is filling up waiting on the next train to see who wins the little raffle for a free drink. I would come back.

My friends and I stop here after our visits to the Aurora Sportsmans Club. They have something like 30 different burgers on the menu. Every one I’ve tried has been amazing and always cooked perfectly(cooked to order). The quality is great. The presentation is what you would expect from a pub. The French fries are the thinner type, double fried and crispy but not crunchy. Another reviewer mentioned that they draw a number every time a train passes by for a free drink. This is true! And many trains seem to go by on Sundays! If you ever find yourself in Waterman, you must have lunch here. You must.

We tried Pub West today for the first time, after driving past numerous times on the way to the ASC range. I honestly didn’t expect much based on the look of the place. I was so wrong and am kicking myself for not stopping in sooner. The interior is comfortable and fun and the staff friendly and attentive. The menu is huge; apps, chicken, sandwiches, pizza and probably 30 different burgers. The food is phenomenal, hands down the very best burger I have ever had. I won’t pass up an opportunity to stop in every chance I get from now on!

A great small town Pub. Large menu, excellent pizzas and broasted chicken as well as burgers. Reasonably priced. Friendly service. I give it a big thumbs up!

After a range session at Aurora Sportsman’s Club, I love to stop by Pub West to relax with a couple of beers and some good old fashioned pub grub. Pub West is an unassuming looking little bar in a small town. There is plenty of parking in the gravel parking lot. Walking in you are immediately immersed in a good old fashioned tavern atmosphere. It is dim with lots of wood and a couple of TVs, usually playing some sporting event. It reminds me of the bars in the town where I grew up. I always sit at the horseshoe shaped bar which has about 16 comfy stools that are randomly numbered(I’ll come back to that.) Trent always takes good care of me… starting me off with a glass of water because he knows I am coming from the range. The beer selection is horrendous by my usual standards. Bud… check, Miller… check, PBR… check. The only saving grace for my taste buds is the Newcastle Brown on tap. Not my favorite beer, but it is refreshing enough for me to drink while enjoying this little gem of a bar in the middle of nowhere. I understand that the more frequent customers of Pub West are not demanding unique craft brews. I don’t know everything that is on the food menu, but of special note is the list of 50 different burger varieties. Sure, it is just a big juicy homemade hamburger with a ton of topping choices, but it is still fun and tasty. I have tried several of them. Watch out for the Jack Daniels burger. It comes with a mini shot of Jack in a plastic condiment cup to be poured over your burger. It is little things like this that I love about Pub West. Lately, I have been in love with the Broaster Chicken.( ) It comes with potato wedges, sour cream, cole slaw and a dinner roll. I get the 4 piece mixed dark/white and I don’t walk away hungry. The price is very reasonable as well. It is nice to get away from Chicagoland sometimes. Remember the numbered bar stools? Well they are part of a mini lottery. Pub West is literally located right next to the railroad tracks. Whenever a train passes and there are more than 4 people at the bar, Trent will draw from a bucket of numbers until he hits one that matches the stool of a person sitting at the bar. That lucky person gets their next drink free! I don’t necessarily need the free drink, but I really enjoy fun atmosphere that comes with little touches like this. Another example of the great customer appreciation exhibited by Pub West is that if you come in wearing your ASC membership ID, you get a free beer.(You better order more than one! They need to stay in business after all.) Because of the time of day that I come into Pub West it has never been very crowded and that is just fine with me. Whether I am talking to Trent or my fellow patrons at the bar, everyone is friendly and I always feel welcome at Pub West even though I only visit a few times a year. I give this place five stars because it is a perfect example of a good, small town bar. I will be back.

Checked out Pub West with my friend who lives in the area. Amazing selection of burgers, great service, fun atmosphere. Wish they had a place like this where I live.

They practically pay me to drink here. If there are at least four people sitting at the bar drinking when a train goes by, the bartender(usually Trent) draws numbers(found on your bar stool) until a winner is called. Winner gets a free drink of whatever they’re drinking, so if you’re drinking a pitcher, you get another pitcher. It’s totally a win-win! Over 50 different kinds of burgers and Trent is awesome, probably one of the most friendly bartenders I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.
