I stayed here for 3 nights this past weekend and was very surprised at how nice it was. I was very skeptical about staying after reading reviews on this site and others but gave it a go anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. We had one of the suites on the top floor and was very happy with it. The place does need some minor repairs and some updating for sure but it was well worth the money. Our room was huge! Had a living area with refrigerator and microwave and extra sink and counter. Then a bedroom with a Jacuzzi tub. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. It was a sell out at the hotel with our state dart tournament in town and they kept up and did a great job. The breakfast in the morning was good also. Was surprised to see hot foods offered as well as the cereal and yogurt. Overall the place was nothing like the reviews I have read. My only suggestion would be to maybe do a little updating and this would make it even a better place to stay. I notice people leave reviews more often when something is bad but not as often on some place that is just fine so I wanted to leave a good review letting people know that we had a great stay and had no major problems.

Donna cleaned our room and she was the most pleasant person. I’ve never met a kinder person. I looked forward to seeing her daily and she always made nice conversation. Kandi helped me with the phone that wasn’t working. She went out of her way to make sure my mother and I was able to communicate with the front desk when our shuttle arrived. Kandi and Donna were very helpful and they made my mother and I feel special. Everyone I interacted with at the front desk were genuinely helpful and greeted us with a sincere smile. I was very pleased that there was a refrigerator and a microwave in the room. I didn’t expect that, but I was happy to have these accommodations. Being a vegetarian, I am always reluctant to partake in the breakfast options, but this hotel had so many things I could eat. The biscuits, juice, eggs, waffles, coffee, cereal, oatmeal, and fruit were very satisfying. I plan to let others know on social media the high caliber of professionalism displayed at this establishment. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Ok, I let my husband make the reservations on this one. We wanted a hotel close to our destination and this is the one he picked. As we entered to check in we were greeted by the young man with the white t-shirt and the big neck tattoo. Now, I don’t mind ink, but coupled with the t-shirt it gave an air of «this is a low rent place». Sorry, but I guess I expect the representative to be neat and have something nicer on. Check out was at noon and we were checking in at five, but they still didn’t know if the room was ready. Had to wait for someone to go and check it out. With only four cars in the parking lot, it seemed like they weren’t overly busy. The lobby and the elevators were in definite need of an updating. The elevator looked like they had glued carpet squares onto the walls to spruce up the outdated wood grain underneath. Hallways were narrow and the ceiling was short. Made it feel very close. A huge bag of trash was sitting outside the door to the room next to us and several room doors were open, so maybe the maids were still at work. When we realized that we didn’t have any bath towels we decided that our room hadn’t really been ready yet. The bed slept well and I like the pillows. Husband wasn’t a fan of them because they were so small. But they did give you four of them. The shower really sucked. The hanging tag in the bathroom bragged about these wonderful showers that had four different settings, etc. That would have been wonderful had the water actually came out of it. Those towels they brought up? Small, scratchy and only brought two of them. The breakfast area looked ok, but we didn’t get up early enough to eat. They stop at 9:00 am. on weekdays. Overall, the place was clean, but shabby. Can’t imagine that they get enough business to even consider a make-over. Downtown area is still looking economically depressed.

I am very suprised to see such a great review on here. My stay was not good. This hotel is not located in a good part of town. My company booked me here because they needed me to come to Waterloo for a special project last minute — our first four choices were unavailable at such short notice. I stayed here last night — on the fifth floor. It was late at night when I arrived — so too late to call corporate and book somewhere else. The hallway and my room smelled so bad that I left right away to run to walmart and buy one of those wax warmers to put next to my bed. That helped a little. It’s hard to describe the smell, but it reminded me of dusty damp air. When I took my shoes off for the night, there were two large damp spots on the carpet, one next to the bed and one in a corner of the room. No idea why there would be wet spots in the carpet, it was almost like someone had spilled a drink or something. I hope that is what it was — sometimes ignorence is bliss in these cases. At any rate, I couldn’t find anything leaking and two pairs of socks later I was wishing I had brought slippers or something. Very old and outdated hotel. One of my lightbulbs were those super white«daylight» bulbs, and one was a normal yellow-ish bulb — so the room felt very off. My bathroom shower had black mildew stuff in the tile grout. I could probably keep going on — stains in the carpet, the pillows on the bed are the size of couch pillows with standard sized pillow cases folded around them. No bathroom vent to keep the mirror from fogging over. It was just one thing after another. I called my corporate today and compained, so they booked me at a different hotel over by the mall that will hopefully work out better. If you are traveling from out of town looking for a comfortable hotel, I would avoid this one and the area of town it’s in.

We have stayed here for over five years on trips back and forth across the USA. The rooms are very big, always clean and the staff is there to help. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast offerings are top notch. We like that there is under the building parking to protect our car from the weather. The only down side is the fact that there is only one elevator and it is five stories because one of them has been out of service for years.

This place is the WORST. We made a reservation here because they take pets, but it is a pit. When we got into our«suite» there was no hot water to take a bath or shower. It was barely warmer than room temp. When we complained and told them we wanted to check out they called the owner to see if they could refund our money. We packed up and while waiting at the front desk a gaggle of what looked lime«working girls» walked into the lobby, got in the elevator. We knew right then we would not stay no matter what. The clerk told us that since the water was warmer than room temp they would not refund our money. We told them the water was not hot and it was not acceptable. The rooms are VERY old and what the call a suite is just a couple of rooms put togther in a half assed way to make a «suite». The rooms were not real clean either. DONOTSTAYHERE.
