Great place to shop! Love how organized it is. Always find great deals and lots of trendy items every time I shop there. It’s my go to place!

I took my daughter to this particular Platos Closet when it first opened & it was not too bad. There was a big enough selection that she found a few cute items to purchase. The second time we went the selection was horrible. The higher end items were pretty worn– almost like they took whatever they could get. Summer was near over & they were stocking shorts & tank tops. This is Iowa & I don’t care how old you are– you cannot wear shorts & tanks year round. We didn’t buy anything & most likely won’t go back. There is a Platos Closet in Cedar Rapids almost 1 hour away & I think we are more likely to drive the distance & go to that one instead. The only part that I was impressed with was how organized & neat they kept the store. At first sight it looks really nice.

Up to four stars for the store itself. I went here to buy some items, and it’s actually a pretty good experience. Prices are very reasonable(usually under $ 10 for almost anything that I looked at). Most of the items I looked at were in surprisingly great condition and mostly modern-looking items. Nothing looked like it was out of the 90s. Some of the items had hidden tears or holes. They weren’t marked down for that, so I’m unsure if the store knew that they were damaged when purchasing the items initially. Women’s sizes go up to XL, but men’s will go up to 3XL. They do carry a couple of odds-and-ends plus-size items for females, though. Everything is very well organized. Amazingly so. Items are organized by type(mini skirt, top, athletic top, denim, colored denim, etc.), then by size(S, M, L, or XL), and THEN by color. So you can go to the athletic tops to find a Medium top in pink. It’s honestly an amazing way to shop if you had something particular in mind for what you wanted to purchase. My selling experience still stands as a pretty poor experience, but purchasing is much, much nicer experience. Check-out went pretty smoothly and was relatively fast. They accept credit cards as well.

I thought that this place would be better but it was really disappointing. They are falsely advertising on their website. On their website they say that they will give me money right away but when I had gotten there they told me it would be an hour and a half. I went home and was not called after about 2 hours. I went in and they pretty much declined my clothes because they weren’t ‘going to sell’ enough. On their website they also said«We buy all seasons of clothes… all the time… every single day of the year!»… this is untrue because they said my Aeropostale pants weren’t in season. I’m sorry but Plato’s Closet is a joke and I would not go there ever again.
