The Pad Thai with chicken was okay, seemed like there was too much fish sauce. The Pad Kee Mao was delicious, though the beef was a little tough. I want to try their Tom Yum Noodles!

I had been craving Thai food for months, and this«mostly» satisfied my cravings. We got take-out, as the seating there is minimal and not exactly comfortable. This is a small place, with approximately eight tables, split into two areas by a short wall, and then butt up close to the counter/entrance area. The first time we tried Ocha we ate in, and I felt a bit too much like our food was on display for people placing take-out orders. So we learned, and for our second try went with takeout. My boyfriend has the preconception that Thai food always leaves him hungry, so I made sure to over-order. We got Thai wings(not on the menu, but they did them for us), green beef curry, chicken pad thai, and pineapple fried rice. The general impression — wow, spicy stuff! I usually can handle a good amount of spice, but this was just a tad too spicy for me. They say to indicate if you want it milder or spicier, and I think I would ask for mild in the future. The pineapple friend rice was exceptional — some good crunchy texture from little bits of crispy rice, lots of cashews, and a good balance of curry flavoring with the sweet pineapple and raisins. I will definitely get that again. The second favorite was the green beef curry. This is where I was most surprised by the heat level — but the coconut milk did give it some balance. I just wish there had been more bell peppers in it and less bamboo shoots. The wings were quite good — fried up nice and crispy, with a spicy chili sauce, but nothing very special. The pad thai was the only disappointment, but this just may reflect my preference for a more complex version. The noodles were cooked well, and the sauce was well done, but there were just a few bean sprouts added in, along with some chicken. I prefer my pad thai to have some additional vegetables, as well as fresh cilantro and ground peanuts on top, along with a wedge of lime or lemon. One thing to note: they have lunch and dinner menus available in the restaurant that appear to be printed daily. It is likely if you try to use the online menu, the items you are looking for may not be available. In fact, we wanted to order two items we saw online, but were told they had neither, and one of the items even seemed unfamiliar to them. So, just have some back ups in mind if you plan to call in your order. Also, there were several items on the day’s menu that were not shown online(several noodle and seafood dishes). I would recommend going to the restaurant to place your take-out order — it seems 15 minutes is their standard wait time, so not too long to sit and wait.

Nothing compares to this excellent cuisine. Great for take out– I recommend the Green Curry or the Pad Thai. Everything is fresh, and cooked with an excellent attention to detail. I’ve never had a bad meal here.

After 30 min long Ben and Jerry ice cream factory tour and a long 2.5hr drive, I was super hungry and craving for good food. On the way back from the ice cream factory, we stopped at this quaint Thai restaurant and ordered two dishes between two of us. I must say it tasted so fresh and yummy, the veggies and chicken was really very fresh and tasteful. Their portions are also big, so we boxed it as we couldn’t finish it. Hostess was really polite and nice. I would highly recommend this place if you like to eat Thai food.

The atmosphere leaves something to be desired(almost feels like a take out place) but the food is authentic and delicious. If you are more interested in the food than the physical place you are eating it, this is a great(and only one in town) Thai restaurant. I want their pad Thai just writing this!

Dropped into this place on our way to Ben & Jerry’s ice cream factory. Its right across the street. Run by a very nice lady. We were a group of 11 people and luckily there were no other customers at the time so she was able to seat us all. Its a small place, about 15 tables maybe. But the food was really great. Tried all the thai staples, pad thai, red curry tofu, garlic chicken & broccoli, shrimp, mussamom curry, thai iced tea, jasmine tea. All were delicious and the lady was nice enough to say when we ordered too much. Not something you see at most restaurants. Most of the dishes were in the $ 11 — $ 13 range. Great food and great service, a simple concept that a lot of restaurants fail to adhere to.

We ate a Ocha at least once a week, several years ago, when it was located in downtown Waterbury. We loved it! The food was amazing and it was reasonably priced. Operative word on both counts — WAS!!! Now they have a new location and a new chef and we have a new opinion. We were really looking forward to our meal and were SODISAPPOINTED!!! The fresh spring rolls were by no mean fresh — the wraps were hard and tough. The crispy duck was slimy — the honey sauce, sickingly sweet. And who makes chicken basil with finely ground meat? It is also very expensive now. Even if it weren’t… it’s simply not worth your money. When we called to complain, they offered no resolve to make it right. We are never going back.

Ended up here after a leaf-peeping drive on route 2. The Tomkah soup was the best I’ve ever had! It was so amazing that I scarfed it down and couldn’t eat the red curry with tofu that I ordered. I just reheated that for breakfast and it is also delicious. This place is no-frills but that food is really really good. Highly recommend.

Exceeded expectations totally! Very clean and nice place they can be proud of. The pad Thai, fresh spring rolls, and papaya salad were all quite good. The Vegetables in all our dishes were fresh and all the flavors you’d expect from Thai food were there. On a personal preference, I’d like the pad Thai a little more tangy and a little less sweet,(but that is being super nit-picky on my part) I really wouldn’t hesitate to go here anytime and order the pad Thai again. They clearly try here to make it inviting with the décor, the appetizer plates, and even the little bamboo trays the checks come on. I unabashedly recommend this place.

Great Thai food at cheap prices across the street from the Ben & Jerry factory! The Pad Krapao was exceptional — spicy but flavorful. The fresh rolls were good too — the kids liked the chicken satay with the peanut sauce. No frills place and saw a lot of take out orders going out.

Delicious, great lunch specials, and extremely fast service. Perfect stop on our way back from Ben & Jerrys. FYI, I found the mild to be a bit spicier than expected. Make their meals as they are ordered– good for personalization or allergies. Red curry, Pad ke maw(lunch special 15) and lunch special 8 were great!
