First, I am very disappointed that this was my first visit. Hands down, best sushi in Wasilla. Atmosphere is cozy, funky and fun. My lunch was at 1:45, there was one other table and they were leaving. I grabbed my own menu and sat myself– the waitress was sitting at bar on her phone. Ordered the most beautiful spicy tuna roll I have ever seen. It’s beauty surpassed by its amazing favors. Do not bother with the wasabi, soy side dish. I also ordered gyoza. The gyoza are deep fried, a slight disappointment, I prefer the pan fried/steamed gyoza, albeit they had good flavor. Unfortunately the waitresses skills lack. The bell was rung repeatedly signifying my tuna roll was done. I almost got up and grabbed it myself. After finishing my meal, awaiting the check, I saw that the waitress was sitting at bar on her phone. I put the tip in the jar on the sushi bar, and not to the waitress.

Best sushi in the valley! We were pleasantly surprised. It is apparently under new ownership as of recent. Everything was very fresh. We are traditional sushi lovers and we like the raw stuff. Great fresh sashimi, as well as some creative, beautiful rolls. The presentation was amazing! Service was excellent. Atmosphere and background music were nice too. All around great place to go with friends or family. We will be back. They also seem to have plenty of other kind of fare for those who don’t like sushi or raw fish. Also the desserts were very good too-great fried Oreos and ice cream selection.

I was recommended to this place by my girlfriend who lives in the area. I really wanted to like this as much as she made it out to be. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The service was quick and spot on but was lacking in personality. The appetizer salad was very tasty albeit tiny. The miso offered wasn’t even present in a bowl, but a glass mug, and tasted like it came from the kikkoman powered miso that you can buy at a grocery store. I ordered a pair of Hamachi(yellow tail tuna) nigiri and was served not only the pair of nigiri but also 3 pieces of sashami, which was a pleasant surprise. The fish tasted very fresh, but. the presentation was awful. the nigiri cut of the fish was completely wrong which caused the fish to split and fall apart on the rice. the sashami was perfect, should’ve been used for the nigiri instead. For the roll, I ordered the Bonsai, which contains spicy tuna, avocado, Unagi(eel), and cream cheese in a basil tempura which is then deep fried. When our food came, both rolls that were ordered were served on the same platter and while the server offered a second plate, it should have never been combined on one to being with. I’ve never seen this done nor do I know why. This caused us to have to over reach and potentially drop parts of our food. The rice that was used I am not sure on as it was not specified in the menu, but the color was a dark brown/red. I’ve never had rice used in rolls be anything other than white sushi rice, so this made the presentation off-putting. The roll was also smothered in sesame seed rice seasoning which also not specified in the description. Overall, I felt that other than the initial Hamachi I ordered, I was disappointed. Horrendous presentation and over seasoning of the food makes me think they are hiding sub-par ingredients used for the rolls. For how expensive the food cost I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone. $ 4 for a cup of hot green tea. come on.

I really wanted to like this place, but the inconsistency of the dishes served was just too bad. Only some of the salads had dressing, meals came out at weird times, people’s orders were combined, combo tempura was chewy and cold and should have come with more seafood than 1 sad shrimp. The other people in my group had a totally different tempura combo than I did. The sauces were also entirely too sweet. Like I said, I really wanted to like this place as I’ve heard great reviews from others, but i just couldn’t overlook all of the errors.

This place is a gem! Everything we were served was incredible. Very creative. Even the salad that comes with the meal was delicious and left me wanting more. The poke was fresh and flavored perfectly. The sushi was out of this world. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to go back and try other menu items.

Best.Sushi.Ever We love Kahn’s, have never left disappointed or hungry! Try the specialty rolls posted around the restaurant, off menu, you won’t regret it! He uses purple rice, beautiful presentation and fresh tasting.

I just left this place & I am so uncomfortable. Uncomfortably full that is, because the sushi is SO good. I’ve been here a few times now, & the quality is consistent and the rolls are more unique than most sushi places. Also, they always are playing good music. The rolls are a bit more expensive than other sushi places, but it’s worth it because the rolls are bigger and like I mentioned before, the rolls are unique. Also, the waitresses are friendly & attentive – they always made sure I had a full cup of water. I definitely recommend Khan’s!

Best sushi in Wasilla! Khan is a great sushi chef with a great friendly personality. He always remembers us and treats us very well. They have black(purple in color) rice that takes his sushi to another level. Highly recommend!
