They make their own chocolate and fudge YUM!!! They make their own local honey too. Their atmosphere is so enjoyable and a part of the whole experience!!! If that isn’t enough they are so friendly!!! Here is a pic of Melody, so very sweet!!! YOUHAVETOSTOPTHERE!

Thank goodness you are still open! We’ve been coming here since I was little and stopping for your wonderful fudge! On our trip out to the west coast this year, we saw that the Hwy 395 bypass was finished and I was so worried that this wonderful shop had closed. Luckily, we saw the exit for Old 395 and hightailed it back to this location. The fudge and divinity are just as divine as I remember and it brought back so many good memories(me begging dad to stop for a treat!) of our trips to Reno. If you’re going anywhere near Reno and need a sweet tooth fix, this is the place to go! Off the beaten path now but so worth the extra 5 minutes!

Great place, came here as a kid, and now taking my kids while visiting on vacation! They loved it and the staff are so friendly and kind. We tried the jalapeño tatty interesting and delicious

I am not BIG on candy(I’m much more a salt addict as in potato chips) But I stopped in on my way back for a nice hike and taking the OLDHWY395 home. I’ve past this place so many times I couldn’t do it again. If you love salt water taffy this is heaven for you, tons and tons of it. I went right for the fudge samples and chatted with the man making it… If you see something you may like just ask for a small sample, that’s what I did and I tried all the fudge. LOL This store has the unique touch in making candy. They have animals and even the state of Nevada make in chocolate… Which would make for some great gifts if you know of someone with a sweet tooth in your family…

Pleasant surprise finding this candy store. The brittle was delicious! The individually packed chocolates were really good. Taffy was stale, as we’re the diabetic chocolate section candy. Most of the candy is made off site and shipped in. Super cute shop with tons to select from. My faves so far is the chocolate covered marshmallow and Pecan snapper. Staff were nice and encouraged us to taste whatever we wanted(pretty sure that’s not the standard, but rather because we were the only customers there).

Outstanding customer service. I love the salt water taffy, chocolate turtles, and homemade fudge. They have an amazing selection, something to make everyone happy. Cannot wait to return.

I was drawn to this business after seeing the large outdoor advertising sign, reviews by some of my dear Unilocal friends, and limited sightseeing options in the Washoe Valley. The store was large and contained a lot of visually interesting sweets. The prices are high. I wish I wasn’t tempted to try a free sample of the jalapeño peanut brittle, and I recommend others avoid. If you are going to purchase a treat I highly recommend the ice cream bar. At slightly under $ 4/each the treat is delicious, and sitting outside on the large covered deck made the experience even more enjoyable!

Very friendly and polite customer service. Worker isn’t pushy at all ! Although there aren’t any hot drinks available, this place seems to have it all! From chocolate covered cheesecake and bananas to truffles and fudge. I got the pecan cluster(milk chocolate) and it was absolutely delicious! It’s too bad that it’s located in the boonies or else I’m sure it would get more business. We only happened to stop over because there were high winds on the freeway so we decided to take a break from driving(while on a road trip). If I ever pass thru the area again, I’d probably stop in to grab a chococately treat.

Went and visited this place on our way to Carson City from Reno. The guy there was friendly and offered us free samples. We bought some fudge, taffy and jelly beans. The taffy was stale and like a rock. I don’t know how the fudge and jelly beans were but I would imagine that it wasn’t very good. Everything was way overpriced, I have never paid that much for candy. You are better off skipping this place and going to a grocery store, you will find better quality and pricing!

Excellent chocolate and Friendly service. We are out of state transplants to Reno, and so glad to discover this place. They also have an «outlet» off route 50 going towards Virginia City. Will recommend this business and will be back!

I love, love, love this place. The fudge is so good but don’t eat too much. Salt water taffy is a winner too. We used to go here all the time when visiting Reno. It’s a little on the pricey side but its well worth it. My sister was in town visiting so we made a special trip just for her. My 2 year old nephew got a sucker and kept telling my sister how good it was. If you are passing through or want a special gift for someone, I would recommend coming here. It is off the old 395 highway. It can be accessed from the new freeway(from Carson to Reno visa versa) don’t know the name since I just moved back and was not driving.

Great selection, interesting décor. Came up here to geocache and thought we’d pop in for a treat. Ladies were sweet. We ended up only buying some candy suckers because all of the chocolate was seriously expensive. Will go to See’s in mall if I need to buy high end chocolate.

I have been a customer since 2005 before I ever moved to Nevada. Although the prices on candy has sky rocketed through the years. I will still be a loyal customer. The only thing I am worried about is they might go out of business. Because of the new freeway that was built. It is harder to have access to drive there. Because of the new freeway. Plus, their is hardly any exits to exit off the freeway to go this famous place.

I wanted some sort of sweet so we decided to stop by Chocolate Nugget on our way from Reno to Dayton when visiting family. Lots of sweets that’s for sure. We each got the frozen banana chocolate dipped with nuts dessert and that was very yummy! I also bought some of their dark chocolate in the chocolate case section. So far from what I tried It’s pretty yummy! Don’t eat too much all at once though cause you will feel sick! I have a tendency to do that haha. They also let us try some samples of their taffy and it wasn’t that bad. I tried the Peanut butter and jelly one. I would definitely come back here if I’m down there.

It’s a cute setup and that’s about it. The candy is stale ~ both the chocolates and taffy were old. The taffy had that old dry texture. Ugh! Better to just buy the candy from the supermarket which would be cheaper and fresher! If you want gourmet chocolates ~ go to a specialized store.

Really cool shop off to the side of 395 close to no place in particular. We stopped by here on a whim after seeing the sign on our way from South Lake Tahoe to Reno. They have a huge selection of saltwater taffy in all sorts of flavors, a counter full of American truffles, a good assortment of some of the stranger types of old fashioned hard candy, and fudge and brittle. And they seem pretty gung-ho about sampling. They also offer some amount of industrial candies and novelties — like the world’s largest gummy snake. A fun candy store which appears to make a lot of what they offer on-site. The samples we tried were pretty decent, and it’s a fun vacation stop.

Service was wonderful and friendly! I cannot exude anymore on that — truly, you felt like a valued friend or family member. Sadly, why is this place just A-OK for me? It’s the chocolate. I’m a chocolate snob and I’ve been fortunate enough to eat European chocolate on a regular basis… and this was not good stuff, my friends. Every single thing there was overly sweet. Don’t get me wrong — I’ve got the world’s biggest sweet tooth, but the sweetness was so bad that I got a slight headache from eating their Chookie(Oreo cookie dipped in milk chocolate). I knew the moment I bit into it, too! I thought, «Uh oh… this is much sweeter than I’d like it to be…» and it certainly was. Even some of their brittle — which really reminded me of crunchy cotton candy — was mega sweet. A great local business for those of you who want to become diabetic within a day if you’re not one now… and the workers will help you achieve that goal with free samples and smiles.

One of my favorite places in the whole world. OK lets go down the list, shall we? More handmade chocolates than you can shake a stick at(does anyone ever actually shake a stick?). Tons of taffy, jelly beans, penny candy, fudge. ice cream, gifts, oh and my favorite is the hot salty nuts(dont go there). This place is a must if your anywhere in the area and your a crackhead for candy like me.

You can already tell from the outside what you are going to find here; lots of inelegant sugery treats and plenty of low grade milk chocolate, plus a few bizarre inventions like jalepeno brittle. If Hershey bars are your idea of a chocolatey treat, or if you just need to pee, by all means stop. Otherwise, you’ll do better at the gift shop in the casinos.

Family owned for over 30 years! Started in Ohio and some chocolates(the packaged ones) are still made there. The lady who worked there the day we were in was so very nice and friendly. She let us sample brittle, taffy’s and peanut butter/choclate fudge — which we ended up buying. They have a lot to chose from choclate, s taffy, gummies, sugarfree candy’s and chocolates and at least 5 different fudge’s. The haystacks you buy from the counter taste better thant he packages one — but they are also $ 2 more per lbs. Then they had these marshmellow, chocolate and caramel things that I wish we bought more of because DH actually liked it and took his share! The Choclate Peanut Butter fudge was so creamy and very good when at room temp — that didn’t make it home. Cash or charge. No restrooms, no Tahoe/Reno souviners and super friendly service! Will stop by again!
