I’ve been eating at Wong’s Wok since I was probably around 8 years old. I’m now 30. I recall when they were in the Franklin Mall and then it became the Washington Crown Center. Anyhow, on to the food. I hadn’t went in awhile, however I had went today, 1÷6÷16 to grab a quick lunch. Total was $ 10.59. Ordered a two item combo. Chicken & Broccoli, General Tso and fried rice. Chicken and broccoli was fine. This General Tso on the other hand… well, it was just General Tso. Not sure where the chicken part ended up. Each piece, of which there were not many seemed to be nothing more the re-fried pieces of breading. It was TERRIBLE. I remember when they used to give large chunks of dark meat chicken, and by large I mean one to one-and a half inch pieces. These pieces were about the size of a nickel, if not smaller. Again, let me reiterate TERRIBLE. They are a far, far cry from what they used to prepare and serve. Their General Tso’s Chicken used to be quite good. They have dramatically cut back on the amount of food which they serve. What used to be a small is now scant. What used to be a medium is now small… well you see where I’m going with this. I understand that things need to be cut back and cost are more prohibitive, but skimping on the quality of food will lead to me skipping Wong’s Wok for somewhere else. I walked out thinking«What did I just spend money on?» What happened?

We were a little concerned about ready-to-eat Asian food, but the cleanliness, nice sit-down style furnishings, and the hospitality of the manager eased our fears. He asked us what our preferences were then offered samples and suggestions based on our responses. The staff was very attentive and the manager came out to our table to check on our satisfaction. The quality of the food was very good and complimented by excellent service.

Thumbs down customer service. I ordered what I thought would be honeydew bubble tea. When I didn’t like the way it tasted I tried to exchange or get my money back. A gentleman dressed like he could be the manager said that I would still have to purchase another drink because«there was nothing he could do. You drank out of it and there’s nothing I can do with it» I could only just stare at him as he continued to shrug his shoulders and say«there was nothing he could do». Well here’s something I can do. Tell other customers how rude you were and let them know to not to visit your establishment.

The dumplings here are fabulous! I work in Squirrel Hill and live in Canonsburg, and the dumplings here are good enough to have me overshoot my house to get some on the way home on many occasions.
