Washington County Library

This is a gorgeous and clean library with amazing comfortable chairs and seemingly good day care or kids room. Unfortunately, the system that the library has implemented for free public wifi does not work. It states that the speed is reduced for public use and that you can go full speed if you are a member, for which you must live locally. In theory this sounds reasonable so that out of towners aren’t hogging all the bandwidth streaming movies and what not, but in practice the cap is so low on the guest speed that normal sites (including the library system’s website) are unusable. Everything lags for a minute or two before maybe loading. For such an obviously wealthy library system it offers comparably awful internet service to out of town patrons. Back to the coffee shop for me!
