Love the pizza here. One of our very favorites. Fresh toppings, excellent crust. We bring our favorite wine along. Great casual dining.

What a great find in Washington, PA. The was a time in this country where people took time to make food and it was always quality. You can still find that but you are going to pay $ 100/person for your meal. Unless you stop at the upper crust. These guys prepare a quality meal of the best ingredients. I had the spicy Italian hoagie. This sandwich was prepared the old fashioned way with high quality meat, fresh vegetables and bread the tasted like it was right out of the oven. It has been a very long time since I had a sandwich this good and the prices are comparable to fast food. Upper Crust is an hour from my home but I am going to make sure I can get there often. Along with the high quality food, the wait staff was very friendly, hard working and accommodating. I never had an empty glass. Do yourself a favor, if you are anywhere near Washington, PA stop by the Upper Crust. It will bring joy to your day!

First and last visit. Our appetizer arrived cold somehow — despite the kitchen being about 10 feet away. Sticking from the middle was a black four inch curly hair. When it was taken and remade, the resultant fried provolone was tasteless and gummy. Then our pizzas came, and we regretted not leaving. The crust was white and doughy, desperately undercooked and almost entirely unseasoned. It had the chemical taste of budget white bread. Tin can tomato sauce and flavorless toppings combined to form what was quite simply the worst pizza I’ve ever had in a restaurant. It was roughly the quality of a Red Baron freezer pizza, at 5x the cost. The kitchen looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned this year, and the person whose hair featured prominently in our meal had shoulderlength unkempt hair and a massive beard, none of which was capped or netted in any way. The server mentioned that it’s been a consistent issue, but seemed to find it amusing. The bathroom was slightly cleaner than the kitchen. No one finished their food, and no one wanted to take any leftovers with them. We will never be back. Ever.

Recently we ordered some take out(last night) and was very disappointed. They put a pasta in a cardboard take out box lined w foil which of course leaked all over the bag and turned out to be a dry pasta by the time we got home. We also ordered the muffuletta sandwich and they put it on a hoagie bun instead of a huge Italian roll, they told my husband they were out of the rolls and that it was the toppings on the sandwich that make the sandwich. Well the toppings on the sandwich made the hoagie roll soggy. We also had a margarita pizza that was soggy by the time we got home and the bottom burnt. The thing is, if you’re out of something tell the customer, don’t substitute it, let them know! We would have ordered something else! And a cardboard box for pasta, really? Their pizza is really good but you have to enjoy it dining in, to go it’s a soggy mess.

Off the whim, my kid and I dropped in after an event. The family owned restaurant is settled in prime location, on a cute little corner with open storefront windows. You walk in and it’s a small, quaint dining room. They have one side, against the Windows/wall with booths, and the other side with tables and tables in the middle. They have enough tables to put together for groups. The menu offers soups, salads, Italian starters, pastas dishes, sandwiches, and WOOD-FIRED brick oven pizzas. From what I heard in the restaurant, their meatballs are to die for, but you have to get there early because they run out! They also offer a dessert case with homemade Italian goodness! And they are a BYOB with NO corking fee!!! Tonight, we enjoyed the Quattro Stagioni. This was a one of their wood fired pizzas with prosciutto, portabella, kalamata olives, and artichokes! It was a perfect combination. The prosciutto was generous and thick, and the olives and artichokes gave this pizza a great taste! They offer a make your own pizza with a choice from a meat, a cheese and a vegi. My youngster chose the good olé pepperoni and cheese pizza with mozzarella. It was so cheesy and the crust was so good, with both pies! Upper crust offers delivery, pick-up and catering. The service was very good. They make you feel welcome and attended to and do their best to make the customers happy(as I observed throughout our meal). The prices are very reasonable as well! We will definitely be coming back when in this neck of the woods!

Really good food. I mean really good. Half the time I can’t get them to answer the phone though. I keep calling because I love every part about the food. There have been many days I have finally called someone else because I got tired of trying to get through. Just saying.

This was a quaint little corner bistro close to my hotel. Not even two miles away. Although I showed up on a night where the oven was down(no pizza) they were also out of shrimp. I couldn’t have been more pleased with my food. The spinach salad was fresh and simply wonderful. The fried provolone holy… Are you kidding me, fantastic. The Alfredo was delicious and since no shrimp I went with the sausage. If you get a chance please visit this place. You will walk away very happy..

Loved this place. Came with my wife on a Friday night. It’s not large, it’s not fancy but the food is excellent. The BYOB without a corkage charge is a big plus. Loved the hobo soup and the pizzas. Our total check was under $ 25! We will absolutely be back. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. Very welcome addition to Wash PA

It wasn’t too bad. There’s a ton of places I would pick before eating at Upper Crust but their pizza is unique of those surrounding who serve pizza

Mark’s pizza and sandwiches are bested by NONE. They use Boar’s head meats and fresh ingredients for everything. I love it here! Nice staff, fast service, and BYOB: can’t beat that! UPPERCRUSTFORTHEWIN!

We happened upon the Upper Crust by chance, and I am so glad that we did! It’s a quaint, family owed and operated BYOB restaurant in the heart of downtown Washington. The staff was very friendly(especially Amber) and atmosphere was relaxed; this is a place to go with friends or even with the little ones. The menu had something for everyone and the daily chalkboard specials looked fantastic. We opted for the arugula and prosciutto coal fired pizza but with rustic tomato sauce instead of white garlic sauce. It was a delicious choice. The Upper Crust isn’t fancy, but that’s what makes it so special. We will definitely be back and I suggest the next time you are in Washington that you do the same!

Took a chance from Unilocal recommendations. Do not know how this doesn’t get 5 Stars across the board. Food unbelievable from apps to dinner. If you get a chance go to Upper Crust!

Came near closing time, but was warmly received and served. The beans and greens was so good, I could have just had this. Added a margarita to the order and was glad I did. Excellently done.

Really, the only pizza in Washington that you should eat. Wood fired pizza, pastas, salads, sandwiches and desserts. The salads are a little over priced but we love the pizza. I only wish take out was easier because I could get it when we are in a hurry. Sometimes the employees seemed bothered… as if asking questions is a burden. Anyone that owns a business knows that customers really appreciate a little patience, enthusiasm, and time. Overall, it’s definitely above average. It’s a little cramped, so not so cozy.

Geographically based 4 stars. Best pizza I’ve had in Washington PA. It’s thin crust, wood fired and has tasty, fresh toppings. We ordered 5 different pies and each was very good. The antipasta salad is also very nice, as is the«greens and beans». We also enjoyed the tiramisu and the almond torte for dessert. They have a gluten-free all veggie pizza option too — that my sister-in-law said was very good.

Not only does The Upper Crust deliver on the promise of excellent food, they are a family owned, local business and that makes you love them even more. You know the quality of food and the passion that went into making it. They’re pizzas are the best and I wish I could eat there every day.
