Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa

Definitely worth 5 stars. My wife and I used their services today. The employees at the front were helpful and a joy to talk to you, friendly. They offered water and had candy canes. Tis the season.
For the couples massage my wife had Tom and I had Sharon.

I went to this place with my close friend. I heard about it through word of mouth. When I first entered I was greeted by Annmarie who was very welcoming and took time to help us prepare for our massages. Also was welcomed with soothing music and the sound of a waterfall. She offered us water and explained what was going to be done. She was very kind and down to Earth. Then I met Ali the young lady who would be giving me my massage. She was very nice and was very consciences of how much pressure was being applied. She also was very down to Earth. We had a very pleasant conversation about dogs and she is very insightful about her job. I would highly recommend going to this place. The only problem is that I can’t give it more than 5 stars. I will definitely be back whenever I can. Ask for Ali :)

After reading the positive reviews for this spa, I made an appointment for a facial. The facial was excellent, however the overbearing sales tactics used afterwards to get me to become a member were a big turn off. I said no thanks to the «incredible deal» that is only for today. The sales person incredulously asked me multiple times in a challenging tone, «You won’t be coming back?» I won’t be coming back.
Update: After reading my review, the owner left me a voicemail apologizing if she offended me in any way. She said that she was only trying to empower me with the information of special offers that were available, so that if I do come back, I won’t be surprised by the higher normal prices. She offered half off another facial. I appreciate the apology and the invitation to come back.

I drive almost an hour for my monthly massage with Christol. She gives the most amazing massage you could imagine! You can tell she really loves her work, and really cares that she’s giving you a great massage. I have had several massages at different spas, Hand & Stone in Washington Twp is very relaxing and clean.

This is a great get away! We’ve been to many other places and we always have to compromise on either price OR quality. Hand and Stone give you BOTH! Christol and Mark are fabulous! It’s hard to find someone that’s attentive and really puts forth the effort. We WILL be back again. So great we are now members!

As soon as you walk in the door you’re greeted and made to feel like your the most important person in the spa. The décor is modern, clean and uncluttered. The ambience is serene, and professional. I’ve been getting massages and facials there for over a year, and every time the experience and service has been exceptional. Love the «add ons» like a choice of pumpkin or lemongrass foot scrub, cold stone face massage, or aromatherapy. Highly recommend purchasing a membership to get price discounts and special offers.

I’ve been to the spa at both MGM and Motor City several times (very pricey) and I would without a doubt say I have a much better experience for a fraction of the price at Hand & Stone! It’s a must whenever I’m on the east side! The staff is SUPER friendly and eager. They really make you feel wanted there and not like they are trying to push products or services either. Whomever does the hiring does an awesome job!
Next, the interior is beautiful! It’s new, clean and gives you a much higher end feel compared to the price of their services. Whether I’ve gone for facials, peels or massages I always have a great experience with professional staff that wants you to leave happy. At other spas I’ve often felt like I was another «appointment», but here they’ve always left me with the impression that they want me to leave better than when I came in. This place is a complete must and I only wish they were closer to Oakland County :)

I made an appointment, which was easy as they had availability. The gentlemen I talk to was informative & pleasant. I made the appointment for a rejuvenation package because I had a gift card.
When I arrived the receptionist was pleasant & engaged in small talk.
When I first glimpsed my masseuse I was a little skeptical because she was so young & just a wee thing. I should not have judged so easily. During my 80 minute massage I was relaxed, comfortable & in complete awe! Chelsie was fantastic. I wanted a medium touch for relaxation & to relieve some stress. She did exactly what I needed. I have some sinus issue & during the head massage she worked on my face & seem to relieve some pressure. I swear during my session I wasn’t sure where she was at. I mean I would feel her hands working but it was almost like she wasn’t attach to them. I had to concentrate to know where her body was, which side of the table. Just the right amount of chit chat too, sometime the masseuse can talk thru the whole thing. She let me melt away. I thought 80 minutes was too long originally but I swear I could have stated a little while longer. I also had a foot treatment by Chelsie, I hate my feet touched but she didn’t make me feel strange. It was pleasant.
I also had a facial by Jennifer. She also did a great job. I, however, was asked to fill out a form for her. Why? Reception forget one? I was irritated, not by her, last thing I wanted to do. While I was doing that Jennifer was telling me about up– grading to a better facial. Whoa… I have pretty good skin. I felt like it was a sales job no matter what my skin type was like. At least look at it before you sell me something. She sold it because I felt on the spot, relaxed from body message & in no mood to think. Anyway my facial was great aside from that. Jennifer could hear in my voice that I was nasally, so she too worked on my face. I again felt relief. She also gave me some tips on how to shade my eyebrow so that look more natural. The end result was that it was relaxing & professional.
When I was leaving, Sara, receptionist, wanted to sell me their membership. I told her that maybe I would but I wanted to talk to my sweetie about it. She tagged the membership on 3 more times before I made my escape. While I realize it’s a business I don’t need, want or care to hear a sales pitch. Not during a service or after. Pitch it before maybe, send an email after, whatever but after I feel relaxed, I don’t want to think or commit to anything, seems unfair. Inform me about it once. then let it go!
I will return but be sure to add when I make an appointment that I would not like to upgrade a service or talk about membership unless I ask.

Pricey but worth it. Maybe we should join the membership…
