James the manager took great care of my Friends and I and I am forever grateful because it was my friends 21st birthday. He informed us of what to order and made my friend a delecious drink

Highly disappointed!!! My husband took me to have a beer before the game. I waited patiently for 15 – 20 minutes and that was okay however a sleek blonde walks up about 10 Minutes after me and gets served first even after the eye contact made the bartender aware that we were clearly first. Then a man says to us we are standing to close to an imaginary line near the front door yet there were hundreds of people and all in the same area … I assured him my husband was just taking his last sip and then we were on our way…(My husband is a 5’7″ medium build 47 year old government agent. No threat what so ever)… As he informed us there is an imaginary line that we apparently were bordering along with others we attempted to comply and scoot back. We were then suddenly walked upon by a nasty no mannered gentleman who approached my husband just to(in his mind) intimidate him. Thug like approach to secure a non threatening patron was not only unnecessary but disgusting we finally looked at him with the«really» look … The untamed watch dog backed down!!! Needless to say we won’t be back! The manager and head of security should put the staff in check!!! We will most certainly patronize a more welcoming bar with our capitals season tickets!!!

Came here to grab some food before heading to a Capitals game. It was packed but after a short wait we were able to be seated. Pretty large menu, you’ll find something for everyone. I had the bacon cheeseburger which was pretty good. My boyfriend had the fish tacos and he said they weren’t the best he’s had, but decent. Our waiter was the bartender, which I was kind of confused about since there were two other waiters in our area. He was a very friendly guy, but being that he also was working behind the bar it took a while for him to come back so we could ask for napkins and another drink. Overall, good experience.

Good food, had the chicken sandwhich, the beer selection can be a bit more extensive. The service was great, they seem to thrive in providing good service and there is a very convenient entrance into the stadium.

I’m giving the service 5 stars. We went in before and after the Caps game so they were busy. Bartenders were awesome and attentive, very pleasant. Everyone was smiling, despite being busy. I was right by the menu rack at the standing bar and everyone said«pardon me» when they were getting in and out of the menu rack. Lexi was an awesome server and the gentleman with his hair up in a bun was as well.

Average bar food. Pricey. Ok service. The wait is long. The chicken sandwich was a little pink. Just ok food

Love this location. Very convenient to the metro, and great spot to duck into during the Wizards game. Staff is very friendly, attentive and personable toward their guests.

Went there for lunch a couple of times. I’d suggest the buffalo chicken sandwich. Also fish tacos are not a bad choice.

Amazing service, the energy in that place is great, they have a lot of screens with a different game in each one, the food is great too, and the staff is very friendly.

Believe it or not, I’ve never been to a Green Turtle. I kinda knew what to expect… a TGI Fridays, Ruby Tuesday or the like, type experience and that’s what it was. The server, Lilo, was great! High energy, friendly and knew her menu well. The crab dip was pretty good but not enough pretzels came with it. I had the fish tacos… the fish was cooked well but I was hoping for a little more of a punch. They weren’t bad though, could maybe just use a sauce with a bit more of a kick to it. Lucky for us, it was a slow night at the Verizon center so the place was pretty quiet and we were able to be served quickly and enjoy a late dinner. I’d definitely return in the future.

My party and I came here pre-concert at the Verizon Center, as I’m sure much of their business does, and had a good time. We were seated at the dinner time hour without any trouble or any waiting. I’ll start off with the only real negative thing– I ordered the Shell Shocker and it tasted like something an 18 year old college student would concoct in their dorm room as they try to get as drunk as possible without any concern for the taste of the drink. I considered sending it back and getting something potable, but in the end, I sipped it over the course of an hour and a half. If you want to know what drain cleaner tastes like, this drink is probably comparable. The food was substantial, tasty and came out quick– two had some sort of crab sandwich and I enjoyed a salad. Those who ate crab really enjoyed theirs and vowed they would get it again. Plenty of TV’s to indulge yourself in American college football through out the night. Bathrooms were pretty clean too. Our waitress was nice and polite, and checked on us once during the meal, just to make sure nothing went wrong. Overall, I’ll keep this experience in mind when it comes to dining before my next concert or event.

Came here in the afternoon at around 4:30 with a friend. We were seeing a concert at the Verizon Center next door in a few hours and expecting this place to be very busy, but it wasn’t that bad. The hostess was friendly and made conversation while she showed us to our table. Our first waiter was Michael, who was nice and professional. After our waters were brought out, we got a new waitress. I think it’s because lots of servers were working and things got switched around, but this new waitress was absolutely adorable, very friendly, and efficient. I wish I had gotten her name. We ordered two rounds of the Shell Shocker and Tennessee Honey Crush drinks, followed by the crab dip and the Cowboy Burger with fries. Everything came out hot, cooked perfectly, and delicious. It was all enough for two people, so I would consider sharing. Even other servers who weren’t assigned to our table came to check on us and ask how everything was going. One server barely bumped into our table but still apologized profusely. We were so happy with the service we received and the quality of food that was served to us. I will definitely eat here again whenever seeing a show at VC. I’ve been to a couple of Greene Turtles and this is the best one by far. Props to you guys!

Came in for a quiet lunch on a Friday at around 1pm. I was actually surprised how dead this place was, considering its location and proximity to a lot of tourist destinations. I came in and sat at the bar, and waited probably 4 – 5 minutes before being greeted by a bartender who was busy chatting it up with a customer at the other end of the bar. I chose a beer, which he poured immediately, and then he vanished for another 5 – 10 minutes before taking my order. I went with the pulled pork sandwich with fries. The food arrived in an appropriate amount of time, and it was actually pretty good — pretty tender pork, good BBQ sauce, and decent fries on the side. I finished my beer and paid, but the level of service really took this place down a few notches. The bathroom downstairs definitely needs some attention to. It looked like it was falling apart, felt dirty, and I wanted nothing more than to get outta there as soon as I washed my hands.

I was in DC with my eight year old son and I needed somewhere to get something to eat with him. The Greene Turtle became one of his favorite restaurants. He had the kids chicken fingers and fries(4 or 5 chicken fingers) which was a nice portion size. I had some of the largest boneless wings I have ever had in my life. Sauce was excellent and had trouble finishing them! Waiter was slightly above average. I would definitely return on either an event or non-event day. Keep up the good work!

This is one of my neighborhood spots. They show the UFC fights for free and they will continue to get my business on fight night as long as they do! The bartenders are very attentive and get your drinks/orders to you quickly. The food is decent. I’m a fan of the chicken tenders and fries. Good flavor and not over-fried. The booths have individual TVs for the table as well. P. s. When you head downstairs to use the restroom if you look through the window to the left at the bottom of the stairs you can see onto the Wizards practice court. Kinda cool.

How does this place only have 2.5 stars? I love this place. I come here everytime I am I’m DC. Once I came twice in one day, for food(specifically wings). The wings are DELICIOUS! My last visit was May 12th.(I actually came 3 times that day. Once to eat and twice to drink). We ordered 18 wings to start. I ended up getting fish tacos. I thought they were going to be these little tacos, oh no, they were pretty big tacos. They were also very flavorful. My sister ordered crab dip which was really good. I can’t remember what my friend and brother ordered, but I know they had no complaints. The waitress didn’t understand my drink order. & instead of the bartender guessing, he came over and asked me to repeat it. I thought that was very nice of him. Later on in the day, we came back to split a turtle shell. It’s nice and strong. The atmosphere is awesome. It’s probably cool to go to when there is a big game on. Maybe one day I’ll make it there for a big game. Don’t let these low star reviews scare you from trying it out. The food is good.

If you feel like waiting 30 min to be acknowledged while the bartender checks Instagram on his phone then this is the place for you! Better bring a sleeping bag because you’ll be waiting all night.

The food here is strictly okay. It’s a sports bar so its best that you get«pub food», you know, burger, fries, salads, anything easy to make. If its complicated, it’s probably not going to be very good. I was here for a lunch and had their 2 pick special(it was relatively cheap so that was good) and had the Maryland Crab soup with ½ a Philly Cheesesteak. The server was very easy going and pleasant to deal with us all. The food came out relatively quick as well. The soup was nice sized and came with crackers, while the cheesesteak appeared to be very small. The soup was alright, a bit peppery, but lacked some crab meat. I felt sort of skimped, though there was plenty of veggies and breaking up the crackers helped enhance its quality. The cheesesteak was very bland though the roll it came on was unique in that it was quite doughy but tasted very good. The negative though was I walked out hungry, but paid only $ 9 for the lunch so I couldn’t quite complain considering it was for two items. They constantly refilled my water glass so that was nice. It’s also easy to get to since its literally walking distance from the Gallery Place/Chinatown metro stop on the Green, Yellow, and Red lines. It’s also about 4 – 6 blocks from Metro Center on the Red, Orange, Blue, and Silver lines. I think I will come back here again and try their burgers. The rest of the portions were pretty big, so maybe I just got the wrong thing. But it is what is and that’s most likely not changing.

Went there last night to watch NC basketball game. We just wanted to get a dessert and finish the last half. We ordered the brownie and cookie sundae. For the price of $ 8 they were a bit disappointing and would not recommend this place ever again for desert. But the part that REALLY annoyed me was they have seats for 6 people with tv screens. There was a table of 2, 6 and 4 at these tables. I asked if we could sit at a table with a tv. Instead what we were told was if we sat there she would have to move us when the place gets busier. I am curious though… did you tell all those other tables the same that weren’t watching a game? I dunno… seemed unfriendly considering we were only going to be there for half am hour. When the game finished a group of 6 came to the table we wanted. Hmmm
