This Subway is close to my work so I’ve been here quite a few times. The food quality is on par with any average Subway in the country. The employees are fine; they are not exceptionally friendly but also aren’t incompetent. There is one thing that concerns me about this Subway. I have probably eaten here 10 – 15 times, but I have gotten an upset stomach from it three times. This has never happened at other Subways and the subs I order contain ingredients I’ve eaten plenty of times before without issue. I don’t know if this is simply coincidence or an issue with food quality; I won’t make any assumptions. But it has deterred me from eating here more frequently. I should also note that there are several very good sandwich options in the area that are far better than Subway at a similar price point. I recommend Taylor and Potbelly.

The workers are slow and looks as if they no motivation to serve the guest I did not feel welcomed at all. Can I get a smile at least.

I would not recommend this Subway location. Many of the workers are very absent-minded and get distracted easily and stare off in space at god knows what, even though the customer is right in there face, waiting to order or ask for toppings. Also, sometimes the backdoor isn’t open, so you have to go through the front or side door. I was willing to dismiss all the aforementioned items, as Subway is one of the only few locations in the area to get a healthy vegetarian meal. However, the most egregious thing occurred to me just a moment ago. I’m working late, so I decide around 7:35 to go get a couple of cookies so I can power through the rest of the night. Lo and behold, when I arrive at Subway at 7:42, the door is locked. I can understand closing at 7:55, maybe, even though it’s advertised hours are until 8:00 pm on a Thursday. But 7:42?! Unacceptable. So I wave to the guy and point at my wrist, but he waves me away angrily(the shorter man who is usually at the cashier during the lunch hour — I don’t know his name). Three times. After that, I decided to leave. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such rude customer service in person, even at the McDonalds on that same block. If you don’t mind dealing with rude staff and are in desperate need of a sandwich, this is the place for you. But I will not be back.

I was pleasantly pleased by this Subway. They were very efficient and clean. They have separate stations, one for cold and the other for toasted subs. The bread was soft and they were not stingy with toppings as I have experienced with other subways. Everything was fresh and tasted well. I will definitely make a return visit to this establishment.

I found it harder to order a subway sandwich than ordering from a 3-michelin stars restaurant. I was not familiar with all the choices so I ended getting a 6-inch cheesesteak with some pepper relish. The cheesey italian bread was good. At this location it had two counters to handle the high traffic, must be a great business here! It was fast and easy meal.

This is the closest Subway to where I work, which means that I visit fairly often for the cheap subs and the quick service. Because it’s right across the street from the Moultrie Courthouse and several Federal agencies, it’s PACKED nearly every day for the lunch hour(Friday being the exception). The staff is fast, because they have to be; there are two lines(one hot, one cold) and you’d better know which one you need to be in. If you’re in the«cold» line, you won’t get your sandwich toasted — they don’t have time to make exceptions, so make sure you follow the signs(they are posted). The staff is not only quick, but very friendly, and once you become a regular here, they pretty much know what you’ll ask for and have things ready. As far as other complaints that it’s «dirty» here, I’ve never seen any evidence of it — perhaps they came in after 2:00pm when everyone cleared out and the place was a shambles. Don’t know about the tap water situation, but I wouldn’t be so foolish as to drink the tap water in DC, anyway, knowing what I know about the public works system there. In my experience, this is a standard Subway; they’re rarely out of items and they’re generous with the toppings and the meat. I wish they had soup, though, they never seem to have any in stock and I love their cheddar broccoli. Ah, well — the subs are still delish. They ARE right across from the courthouses, so you may see a few«sketchy» folks wandering about. Don’t worry — they’re just mad that they have to report to their parole officers. They’ll leave you alone for the most part. NO parking here. Don’t even look for any Tip For Diabetics: Subway is surprisingly not as healthy as the commercials would have you believe. Sure, it’s great for folks that want to lose weight — but for diabetics? The menu is very, very limited here. Salad — that’s about all you’ll be able to afford. Not to say that salad isn’t good, but sometimes you get really sick of it after a while. But, to their credit, Subway does a really good one. I normally get a grilled chicken and baby spinach salad with onions, pickles, olives and banana peppers — and, yes, I add bacon. That’s the ONE plus about being diabetic — no limit on the types of meat and that includes bacon. GLORIOUS bacon… oh, wait, I digress. A splash of oil and vinegar, and you’ve got a pretty decent salad for under 2 carb choices. Watch it if you’re going to get a sandwich, though. That bread has MUCH more carbs than they admit to. .Disclaimer: I’m not a doctor. YMMV. Seek medical advice and tailor my review to your situation. I simply provide opinion.

Rude staff. The staff didn’t ask if we wanted our sub toasted(which clearly showed their lack of care and/or training). The store doesn’t have tap water so if you want water you must pay. The store itself was dirty and seemed as though it hadn’t been cleaned or scrubbed in months. Might be excusable if the food was up to par, but the sub was very salty and the bread was a few days past it’s prime. The door in the back is locked. God help you if one of their ovens starts a fire in the front. No doubt they are not operating within the fire code. When asked about the door, the manager stated he would personally leap over the flames and seared salami to save his trapped guests. I guess I’ll believe it when I see them start caring about how their business runs when it’s NOT literally going up in flames.

I have eaten at Subways hundreds of times in many places. Often, I will have tap water with my sandwich. Today, I visited this particular Subway with five children ages 5 – 11 as part of a field trip to the Newseum. I ordered sandwiches for all the kids and then ordered tap water for everyone. The man whom I presume to be the store manager refused. He insisted that if the kids were to have anything to drink, they would have to purchase sodas or bottled water. I asked again for tap water and he refused. He then made uncharitable comments about me to one of his coworkers, thus insulting and embarrassing me in front of the kids. Infuriating! I won’t be back.

My hubby and I are long-time fans of Subway, especially the $ 5 foot longs. We were waiting to catch a film @ the nearby Embassy of Canada so we decide to cross the street and eat some Subway. We were disappointed. We both ordered tuna on wheat bread — the tuna tasted like cardboard. The veggies & condiments were plentiful but the«ta-da» aka the tuna was lacking in flavor. The locale leaves some things to be desired. For example, there was a sweet tea dispenser that was empty and looked as though it had not been used in several days or weeks. The floor has food scraps and cups and napkins. Surprisingly, the bathroom was okay although you do have to ask for a key to open the door. On the plus side, the workers were friendly and approachable.
