I needed a quick bite to eat. They mostly park outside my office, so it is convenient. I got the #6 Gyro and it was yummy. Not the best I’ve had, but really good. I was very full after. I did have to wait a few minutes longer than usual, but he was very friendly. I’d go here again.

Had the Steak and Cheese special today for $ 10 and it was wildly mediocre. Miserly portion of steak, terrible bun to filling ratio(too much empty bun), and a long wait time. Should have gone to any of the other 6 food trucks parked outside my work. Fries were the seasoned/battered kind, but weren’t crispy enough. I love trying different trucks and I go into it with a «win some lose some» attitude, but this one is definitely a loser. Not worth the price and time waiting.

Preface, at the national mall during cherry blossom festival. Took 10 minutes to order and 40 minutes for them to fill the order after taking it =50 minutes for food truck food. We ordered the beef«Jyro» they gave us chicken, no way I’m waiting another 40 minutes for them to fix that. Avoid at all costs, unless you want«OK» food and have all 2 hours for lunch. During my extended wait I witnessed four other patrons return due to having been given the wrong order. NOTRECOMMENDED. Lastly man taking he order answers the question«how long is he wait» with robotic«fifteen minutes».

Food wasn’t all that great, but service was nice and friendly. I was on the fence about getting fries and the gentleman allowed me to try a nice serving. The price wasn’t too steep, but for the quality it was a little pricey. Wished the steak n cheese was better :-(

This food truck was just meh. The service was incredibly friendly and the price was right. The food was a little bit like something you’d expect from a high school cafeteria, but when the other food trucks were empty and my tumbly was still grumbly, this fit the bill. I had a cheeseburger and it was acceptable. At $ 5 it was cheaper than other food trucks, but still pricey for the quality. I wouldn’t do it again…

It’s no Portland food cart, thats for dang sure. But in a pinch between sightseeing it was fine. Come expecting the bare minimum though.

This was possibly the worst dining experience I’ve ever had, let alone the worst food truck experience. My first clue should have been the looks of anger and impatience on the other folks waiting for their food. The folks at Sub Palace do not have any order to which they make the food. You could be waiting for ten minutes or an hour. My boyfriend, who ordered a basic sandwich combo, waited upwards of 45 minutes. He repeatedly inquired about where his order was, only to be blown off. Finally, I, who had gotten tired of standing for almost an hour and was sitting a few yards away, snapped, confronted the manager and demanded to know what the heck was going on. At this point, there was a line of a dozen people waiting to order and about seven waiting for their food. He claimed«the kitchens were backed up»(they had at least three people in the back cooking – impossible) and refused to give my boyfriend his money back. After ten more minutes, my boyfriend’s lunch finally, FINALLY materialized. My boyfriend again asked for his money back, citing the unprofessional conduct and absurd wait time. The manager/cashier refused, and offered us two free cans of Coke as compensation. I grabbed the cans and walked away without a word, furious. I’ve patronized at least a dozen food trucks in my lifetime, and this was appalling. Food truck food is supposed to be made to order, with little to no prep time – but it’s also not supposed to taste bad. It’s a delicate balance. It is supposed to be a fast, local, small-business alternative. These folks are obviously in the wrong industry. The service was disastrous, the food mediocre at best. Never again.

When were short lines ever an indication that the food at a food truck was good??? Never Kudos to this new kid on the block & to the young lady in front of me who ordered food, but her card was declined. The owner/operator didn’t hesitate in taking her order & sending her off w/a mediocre sandwich at best. I made an order for 3 sandwiches: the steak sub($ 7), cheeseburger($ 6), shrimp sandwich($ 8)’ &2 bottles of water. I gave him my credit card & he saw that I had cash. He asked for it & didn’t mind obliging him… That was until I opened my sandwich. I could tell as soon as I picked it up, that it was missing something. This sandwich would embarrass any short order cook & sandwich maker. It’s a good thing I have picks to prove. This is the case of mis-reading the book because of its cover. By its appearances, the trap it set suggests creativity & thoughtfulness in approach to its cuisine. The burger was decent, but you could tell by the bun it wasn’t fresh & the patties were your store bought, frozen variety. Buyer beware!!!
