Best restaurant ever!!! Delivery is fast, and when the food comes it’s nice and hot!!! Also, when I go there, they never fail to meet my expectations. They’re the best restaurant I’ve ever been to!!!

This place is great! The crispy beef there has a very good flavor and their service is also good too. Their delivery is also very fast and the drivers are always very polite. I would recommend coming here and trying lots of things!

Hit and miss. The breakdown: * Delivery time — Acceptable. 42 minutes.(Estimated: 30 – 40). * Egg drop soup — Acceptable. Standard fare. * Beef and garlic sauce — Acceptable. Needed more spice. Order it hot — it probably won’t be too spicy. * Shrimp in Lobster sauce. Dreadful. The salinity of the Dead Sea. The taste was neither shrimp nor lobster, but rather low-grade fish. Promised to be of velvet consistency but actually watery. Inedible.(I may try and water it down and repurpose it as a soup.) Would order from here again but not the shrimp in lobster sauce.

The delivery came fast, I live not too far away & Eat 24 sent a message stating the restaurant was very busy and would take a while to deliver, quoted an additional hour, but the food came within 30 minutes. Also, they deliver to your door, where as some drivers at Fortune Express and other Chinese delivery places require you to meet them out front or in lobby, so that’s cool. Ordered the Shrimp & Broccoli after reading that the chicken may not be the best, and chicken noodle soup to meet the delivery minimum. The food was mediocre at best. The soup wasn’t greasy(which I’ve experienced w/some Chinese spots) & comes with a bag of crunchy noodles which was nice, the portion for $ 1.75 is good. The Shrimp and Broccoli was a nice sized portion but tasted off. The outside of the shrimp had some weird mushy texture & the broccoli was tough, and the steamed rice a little hard. The basic traditional brown sauce also had an odd taste. Still, better than other Chinese spots I’ve ordered from in D.C. If you are new to the area or visiting I would just go with a different type of cuisine all together. Maybe Sushi or something. The Chinese delivery in DC is HURT. I’ve ordered basic takeout from each of the several Chinese spots that deliver to me,(from ones that throw organic in the title, to ones that have extensive menus w/random American food offerings.) I have yet to find a place that makes edible fried rice… how in the world do you mess up a simple Chinese restaurant staple like fried rice? There is more than one way, I’ve learned.(same issue with mushy dense lomein). None of the restaurants offer consistently decent food w/o excessive grease paired with weird after tastes/textures.

I wasn’t expecting much beyond just a hole in the wall chinese place, but the food tasted stale, like it had been fried in old oil, and the breading on the General Tso’s was hard and thick. Definitely wouldn’t order again.

Cheap chinese takeout with good lunch specials! The quantity of food is great, the prices are good, and it exactly what I expected. It is not PF Chaings or fancy chinese food but it is what you expect for the prices and the lunch specials. Got the Kung Pao chicken as spicy/hot but it was more of a medium for me — I like spicy food. I definitely would return as a lunch special w/a spring roll and a side of soup is under $ 10.

I placed an order for lunch delivery(Pork chow fun and spring rolls) and it was absolutely horrible. Tasteless and almost stale. The egg rolls dont even come with a real dipping sauce, just a couple packets of sweet and sour. Gross. Maybe some of the other dishes fare better, but this place is definitely below average. There are plenty of other asian/chinese take out options in the area, so I would recommend to order elsewhere.

I have only ever order take-out from here. This used to be my go-to place because 1) it’s cheap and 2) it’s close so delivery is super fast. I love the thick, greasy American Chinese dumplings, which are great here(and is pretty much the only reason why I return). Their hot and sour soup is decent(could have more flavor), but so far everything else is terrible. I’ve had their lo mein(SOGGY, overcooked) and their general tso’s tofu(way over-breaded and too sweet). All in all, I’m on the search for a new Chinese place when I want more than just soup and dumplings.

I want to love this place, especially since the location is so convenient to me, but sadly Spring Garden is another run o’ the mill Chinese place. The orange chicken was alright and the vegetables with garlic sauce were a little too garlic saucey. Although, the inside is surprisingly nice and neat, and their service is great.

Ordered online first time this weekend. I was very disappointed. The delivery was relatively fast, but the delivery guy tried to make me pay again and pay a higher price. Once guy left, I discovered that they had forgotten to send ANY rice for what was a rather large order. There were at least 4 dishes that should hsve come with steamed rice. The actual food that was delivered was visually unappealing. The moo goo gai pan looked particularly icky, and was completely tasteless. Most of the dishes lacked any distinctive flavors, including both the hot n sour soup and egg drop soup. Sadly, most of the order ended up down the garbage disposal.

Best Chinese food up and down Wisconsin Ave! I’ve tried several places along Wisconsin and hands down my favorite place for Chinese food. The fried chicken here is crispy and delicious and the serving portions are very generous. Also recommend the mushu pork and Singapore noodles too. They’ve never been late with deliveries either.

This was my first time ordering from Spring Garden, but it won’t be my last if they keep up the quality and freshness of their food. I ordered after the lunch rush and before the dinner hour, so maybe that’s the tip for a good meal. Being the creature of habit that I am, I typically order Mongolian Beef every time I eat Chinese food. Today, I decided to spread my wings and try something new, so I ordered the pork Chow Fun. I’m glad I did. First, the delivery was prompt — maybe 30 to 40 minutes or so. The delivery guy was pleasant and handed me the order. I could tell it was still hot from handling the bottom of the bag, but when I opened the containers, the food was still piping hot! Second, the Chow Fun is delicious and it has plenty of meat in it! There’s literally one to two good-size pieces of pork with every forkful. The container of food was so hot that I had to wait a few minutes for it to cool a bit. I’m a stickler for food that’s hot — cold food is always a deal-breaker for me. Finally, the only thing that wasn’t in the bag was the extra soy sauce I asked for, but it’s OK. I’d rather have hot, delicious food and just two packets of soy sauce than a cup of soy sauce and disappointingly cold, tasteless food! The best part is that it’ll last me at least two meals. I haven’t eaten even half of it and I’m so full I can’t eat another bite.

I live in Chevy Chase, DC and have been looking for an alternative to Tian Tian Fang for quite some time. Unfortunately, Spring Garden is only better than Tian Tian Fang because it is significantly less expensive — nearly 30% cheaper, in fact. The food, however, is not better. Everything I ordered was overly salty and tasted kind of the same. I won’t be ordered from Spring Garden again.

Great delivery place and worth the small delivery fee. Their lunch specials are a super deal. Portions are large and the food tastes very fresh. My friends and I have ordered many things and are pleased. Some of our favorites are: curry chicken, curry shrimp, chicken chow fun, pepper steak, beef with snow peas, king Po chicken, human shrimp, and Singapore noodles. The wonton and chicken noodle. soups are great. Love the ginger flavor in the wontons. Skip the egg rolls and stick to the spring rolls. Edamame and avocado salad are nice. Don’t like the sauce they use in the General Tso chicken, too sweet and not traditional preparation. Enjoyed the drunken noodles. This place is a favorite.

I’m giving this place 3 stars because I am judging it solely on the fact that I have only had two things off of their menu. If and when I eat a larger variety of food, I will update. I went in here to grab a quick snack while waiting for my kids to finish dance class. I decided on the spring rolls and some egg drop soup. The food was fresh, hot and the rolls crispy. I really enjoyed their egg drop soup and have gotten it several more times following my first encounter. I even got my daughters hooked on it and for just $ 1.98, it’s very satisfying along with the side of the crispy noodles. I add a little pepper, some noodles, spoon and then eat. While in here I grabbed on the Belly reward cards and entered my info into the tablet they have on the counter and every time you go in there you just scan and can earn rewards. I already got a free drink! The place is clean, there’s ample seating and a nice window seating area to watch the world go by as you eat. There’s free wifi access and it’s quiet. It seems to be more of a place that people take out their food but I still enjoy sitting in there with my hot soup occasionally. I don’t really see any other Chinese take-out places in this area so I guess they have that advantage. I’m just pleased that they don’t water down the soup like some places. That is all.

I think this place has the best lunch special in NWDC. Portion size is huge! I always ask to make mine extra spicy and it totally makes the food taste better in my opinion. The eggplant dish was pretty tasty too. Ask to cook eggplants very well. Usually this is key to good eggplant dish. Unlike other Chinese restaurants, their shrimp size is big too. This is my Chinese take-out place in my neighborhood. PS: Free delivery over $ 12. Quite fast and good arrived hot!

This is a solid 3-star Chinese take-out restaurant. Don’t expect any more or any less from it and you won’t be disappointed. The soups are solid, especially the hot and sour soup, and the entrees are fresh and arrive hot. The delivery is usually fast and they are always friendly at the door. Their online ordering system is easy to use and allows you to select a time you want the food to be ready if you’re going to pick it up(or set a later time for delivery, too, I think). Some tips: the sweet and sour chicken is the only bad dish I’ve had there so far. It’s breaded and fried in what seems like pancake batter. It comes out like chicken in fried dough with a neon orange sauce. Don’t do it. The Szechuan tofu with mixed vegetables is good, as is the Kung pao chicken, and all the chicken-with-vegetable type dishes. All the mooshu dishes are good. Anyway, like I said, solid 3 stars and a great, easy option for Chinese take out in the neighborhood.
