I stumbled across Sequels as I was leaving a massage appointment, and I was more than thrilled! I found great labels for great prices and lots of quality pieces. It’s a small shop but they have some good items. Giuseppe Zanotti’s for $ 52! Consignment is all about the digging!

Teeny, tiny, hard to spot shop — if I were driving by I’d never have seen it, but fortunately I was walking today and so noted this as a place to stop by on my way back. It’s in the first floor of an apartment complex and so small and simple looking that I almost went on my way without going in, and then I thought, well, why not. I’m glad I did. It’s a bit more on the expensive side as far as consignment stores go, and is mostly dedicated to women’s coats. I did see scarves, some assortment of shoes and purses, and a small array of women’s dresses, shirts, and skirts. I ended up buying a lovely black and white print skirt from Talbot’s for just $ 5. The lady at checkout was incredibly nice, and is the main reason I’m giving this place four stars. Like any kind of consignment store, you never know what you’re going to find so you just have to be willing to come back again and again and keep looking. I have to pass by this store weekly on my way to class so I’m sure I’ll be back :)

a bit on the thrifty side even though most of what they have is Escada, YSL, and StJohn. Very hard to find something that I feel really happy with… you know, no special«finds». But the ladies are friendly and that’s why I feel comfortable going back in the hopes of finding something next time :)

I stumbled across this shop after almost two years of working right by it and never noticing it before, as it’s in an apartment building with only a small sign indicating that there’s a consignment shop inside. The store is really small, but I was really excited upon walking in, as the racks were really well stacked-they manage to cram lots of clothes, shoes, purses and accessories into that small space. I’m used to consignment shops in DC being fairly upscale though, and so I was surprised to see lots of mid-range labels-Jones New York and Anne Klein and the like. What shocked me most was when I spotted a pair of shoes which I recognized immediately as being from Payless, as I happen to own the exact same pair. The people working there must not be familiar with the label, as the shoes were marked at $ 25, whereas I bought them new for $ 18.99. In fact, I got the impression that as a whole, they weren’t very knowledgeable about labels, as lots of inexpensive brands seemed to be overpriced. There were bargains to be had though, as some things seemed to be very under-priced. A $ 15 Zara skirt comes to mind(sadly a couple sizes too small for me though), as does a cashmere Sacs cardigan, which would have been a bargain were it not for the hideous bright pink color. Like many consignment shops, you could potentially find some great deals here if you have a lot of time and patience and have a basic idea of how much various labels are worth. Additionally, it could be a great place to consign if you have a lot of stuff that doesn’t quite meet the standards of Secondi or some of the other more upscale consignment stores in the area, but want to try to make a few bucks rather than just donating it to Goodwill.
